CALLADAM,

Not necessarily. It could be that your GI system is a little more sensitive to the motion of running. When you run, a portion of the blood that usually goes to the GI track gets diverted to the working muscles, therefore slowing down digestion. This is where keeping a detail running log may help.

HAPPY SPARK RUNNING!

Eat something small. It worked for me. Just experiment until you find what works for you. :)

Ok so I don't drink coffee, I am well hydrated and I only run about 4 miles at a time so it must be that I haven't eaten anything right? I just thought that would make it worse...thoughts?

You must fuel your system! A piece of toast with honey, a banana, a little cereal....your body will thank you! And hydrate well!

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~Colossians 3:23-24

CALLADAM,

Are you well hydrated before your run? Also just having a little something, say a small banana, before you head out can keep your blood sugar better stabilized. Since you pretty much went through a fast through the night. Also not being hydrated can actually be a symptom of and a cause of dehydration.

HAPPY SPARK RUNNING!

For some people running stimulates the digestive tract. You can try eating something small before running, like a 1/2 banana or a couple of bites of a bagel.

If you don't want to do that, you can try eating a couple of bites within a few minutes of stopping your run.

Eating something small before my run made the nausea go away for me.

It was early when I wrote this and my spelling needed help!

Not to get personal, but do you "go" before you run?

Does anyone know of a remedy/prevention for the nausea and diarrhea I get after a run? I run in the mornings before I eat anything.
