Today's challenge is to take time to reflect on your life and goals. If you need to make adjustments do that carefully ... keep your goal simple. Give yourself a time frame and then start planning how to achieve that goal.

My goal for this week is to lose 2 pounds. I'll exercise more and make sure I keep balance in all my meals daily.

Sorry ... yesterday was not a good day for reading! I spent most of it cleaning!!! The house looks great, but I still haven't started the last Harry Potter book. I did read a couple short stories in a magazine ... so it wasn't a total loss.

Today's challenge (for what's ever left of the day) is to find some way to change you usual exercise routine. For example, if you normally do aerobics ... try dancing instead or of you like walking ... try a different route.

Often I find myself forgetting that there are these other wonderful mediums out there just waiting to be picked up!

OK ... I'll try it ... but does anyone know how I can adapt them so I don't have to jump. Not good with my bionic knees.

Someone said there is an adapted version ... I guess I'll have to do a "spark search" (oooo ... more spark points) to find out how.

Ok ... It's 2:09 in the afternoon and we just got back from golf and lunch ... I see no one has posted a daily challenge.

So here goes ... today is a good day to do 10 toe touches every time you use the bathroom. If you are drinking your 8 glasses of water I know you are making that trip ... so there should be a lot of toe touching going on!!!

Did anyone try the challenge ... Every where I could park at the far end of the lot I did ... the other places I just made sure I walked more that usual. It worked out pretty good for me ... I logged 6898 steps without taking a long walk. On active non-walk days I usually only clock around 5000 steps.

I guess I got here first again ... so I'll pick the challenge.

Today anytime you park your car plan to use the farthest parking space from your destination. The weather shouldn't be unbearable or rainy so the extra steps you will take should be pleasant ... and think of the progress we'll make toward our team walk to Cincinnati.

Daily challenge for Sunday August 3, 2008

Do 3 sets of 10 push ups ... if you can't get down on the floor to do them ... use the wall. Make sure you put your weight into it and they work great.

Sort of a different type of exercise day ... shopping with my mom for 2 hours. It might have been slow walking, but it was practically non stop. She sat several times while I did the looking ... and my extra was parking my car farther away from the store after I dropped her off at the door. There were lots of extra steps to take (4 parking lots)! I know I should have parked in the last space ... but with the rain I sort of whimped out. It still worked out pretty good ... I found myself race walking every time I headed for the car.

Add a little extra exercise today ... no matter what you do today ... find 15 EXTRA minutes to stretch, walk, run, do aerobics, etc. Let us know what you decided to do.

Someday I'd love to meet everyone and join you for a walk. Right now my schedule isn't allowing it though. emoticon I used to love walking at Presque Isle with my roommates when I was in college and I really miss it! (it's not the same walking by myself)

Until then I have another daily challenge! (I tried the dumbell reverse flys with ball yesterday. They're tough!) Today I'm challenging myself & all of you to take the stairs! emoticon I started today by not using the elevator in my apartment building when I was doing the laundry.

I spark mailed Joy; I'm not sure if she's going to make it or not. I told her I would check my spark mail for a final time at 3:00 PM.

Also, there's a girl that lives in Wesleyville that said she wanted to meet too, but I'm on the westside. I'll be happy to take her home if someone else can pick her up.

Keep them coming all ... I love it. I didn't do all the stretching I wanted today ... but the chiropractor did do a little work on my back ... maybe that counts a little. He actually said I had a little 'evil' going on in there! emoticon
I felt a whole lot better when he was done. Maybe a good night sleep will help relax the rest! emoticon

I did stretch ankles, knees, calves, thighs, arms, and sides ... so somethings are working OK!!!

If we don't get rain ... I'll work on getting our kids to Scott Park ... that always adds extra steps. Any takers for a walk tomorrow evening???

Okay Lynn, I did the stretching and now I'm off to take a look at what exercises Spark has to change up my program a little bit. Good idea Zookeeper.

My challenge for Tuesday to all of you:

Let's try to get in extra steps tomorrow. If you go grocery shopping, park at the far end of the lot; Take the dog for a walk; Walk the steps instead of taking the elevator. You get it. Spark recommends that you get in 10,000 steps a day. Even if you're not close to that number, just put in more steps today than you did yesterday.

I'd like to challenge everyone to try one Spark exercise today. Personally, I have favorite rountines that I do, but maybe searching & trying a new exercise can help me beat the boredom that I sometimes feel.
I'm going to try one that I wouldn't normally try! Maybe after we all try something new we could share our experiences?

So ... how many huddles did we get while I was gone ... I managed to sign in get my daily points and huddle while I was gone ... did anyone else???

I was hoping to see a couple of daily challenge posts ... everyone is allowed to post here. Don't be shy ... it will be interesting to see what some of you can come up with.

TODAY'S CHALLENGE ... STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH!!! We all need to learn how and when to stretch ... before/after walking, exercising, or any lengthy activity ... it's even good to help relieve stress!!!

Try to stretch for 10 minutes sometime during the day!
