Will sign up for the 5K in October and it is also a 5K walk, not just a run. I am also planning to start the running clinic that starts on the 23rd to train for it. I did run a 5K in May and will run another on Saturday. My times are pretty slow because I still have to walk alot of it but am aiming to do the one in October without any walking breaks. Have never been a runner before but at age 51 still think that this a goal that is possible.

I'm always interested in a new challenge. I have bad knees, but I think by October I'll be well under 200 lbs and should be able to do a 5K pretty easy.

I usually ride my bike around 15 miles and I'm up to about 50 minues on my elliptical, which is 4 miles. I think I'll be able to handle the 5K by October.

emoticon I would love it ... however with 2 bionic knees I've been told running emoticon will never be in my plans.

I would like you to keep us posted ... it would be fun to show up and cheer emoticon you on!!! I think that would be great fun for those that can't do the running.

I'll keep working on getting some walking groups going ... we'll plan a picnic before summer is over ... the runners can run ... the walkers can walk ... and then we can all sit down to a fun picnic and compare notes!

I'll have to check it out.

I'm definately not a runner, but I used to be able to. I recently had knee surgery so my exercising has been limited lately, but I'm ready to start doing more!

I was just wondering if any of you are planning to run/ walk the HerTimes Women's 5k in October? I made the decision yesterday that I'm going to run this year.... I'm not a runner (yet) but the HerTimes part of the newspaper had some guidelines to help get ready, and they sounds great to me!

Think you can, and you will.
