I have to stop planning SP gatherings if only to ensure I have a way to leave my house!

Right now, (as we are now down to one car), I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to make it on Saturday. But if I can, I will be there.

Hope your week gets better GOLFGMA...you and your husband are in my prayers.

Last week was good for me but, come Sunday, to start this week wasn't so good. My DH got up with vision problems. He was seeing double and just didn't feel good. Since he had a stroke in 2004 I'm always afraid another one may happen at any time. He continued to smoke even after being warned by all the doctors that he should quit. The vision improved after about an hour or so and we waited until Monday to call the doctor. They suggested taking him on to the emergency dept. and have him checked out. We did and they wanted him to stay overnight and run more tests. He didn't want to so, they allowed him to come home if he would follow up with the neurologist within 3 days. We saw Dr. Bey on Tuesday and went for more blood work. Dr Bey changed one medicine and DH promised to quit smoking. Waiting to see if this happens and praying that it does. Hope all of you are having a better week.

Wow! I wish I could stay at 1900 calories - I am easily move over 2000 without even thinking (which is why I need to track and not be lax about it)!

How is the cookbook (besides the dessert)? I've been debating about getting it but not sure I really need more things to cook.

Last week was a total wash but I think I needed the time off from tracking and DOING so I could be with my husband as we figured out some of the hard stuff. It was a tough week but I know I and we are so much and will be so much better for it. I did good with the doing something new (calling out for a few hours on Thursday morning when I felt really awful so I could not rush through my morning and take care of myself, yoga classes, talking to a new friend).

Planning on going to workout classes this week to get back into gear. This weather is not helping though.

How is everyone else?

(It took me 30 minutes to finish this post (I multitask too much) so I totally missed your post Lorie! It seems like we had similar weekends with similar goals for the week. See you Saturday for Zumba?)

Okay, upstairs toilet was rebuilt on Saturday emoticon

I shopped at Costco Saturday and took my day planner with me to compare prices, actually, I will be saving quite a bit regarding groceries and cleaning solutions for my home. I was tickled to find USDA organic beef (4.49 lb), probably the biggest splurge I had, frozen 5 lb bag of organic broccoli (4.99) 6 lbs of chicken (2.69 lb) organic greens (4.59) for a larger container than the grocery store, baby multi colored bell peppers, all kinds of lovely food for the week!

I did not make it to the gym or really, anywhere else this weekend. I think the housecleaning and extra work was plenty to take on!

Goals for the week? Three solid workouts and seriously carb free. I have gotten a little off track and it is time to buckle down again.

Have a great week everyone and check in with your goals, frustrations, accomplishments!

Hi, Just thought I would check in. This has been a good week for exercise and the scale may have moved a little. Every time I think that the next day it is back up there and I refuse to put the lower number on my tracker until it has been there at least a week. I am getting a red letter note that I may not be eating enough for the exercise I am doing, but, I can not make myself go over the 1500 calories most days. I feel great and that is important to me!
Congrats on the anniversary Jennifer. Chocolate molten cake sounds good. I fixed the Jello Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert from the cookbook today and at 160 calories it was yummy! emoticon

This week has been a bit challenged (that would be a good word for it) I am still adjusting to the new medication and my stress at work has been through the roof. I have not exercised any this week and I even had to cancel my appointment last night with my one on one training at PF. I came home last night to a puddle in my upstairs master bath, not a good thing when it is located around the toilet. So, Saturday, we will be replacing the hoses and seals. Wish me luck to not kill my husband in the process.

Crystallullaby~I hope that you enjoyed your anniversary and haven't you read that email that things baked out of love don't have calories or fat? emoticon

My goal for the remainder of the week is to remain sane and carb free. The rest will wait until next week!

How did you do last week? And how is this week going?

Last week I did great! I got in all my exercise, ate much healthier, tried a new recipe and went off for an adventure in the mountains.

This week, eh. I did a few new things (met an old acquaintance for lunch on Monday, took two new to me yoga classes) but I have to exercise every day this week now since I skipped Sunday and Monday). And last night was our anniversary so I had a molten chocolate cake (which was not on the tracker) so I really really can't skip now!

Glad you were kidding. We would probably be having a funeral next day, otherwise. LOL It does give you pause to think and imagine this run. It might be a good workout using every muscle in your body including brain power.

No cameras, you have to participate too!
Just kidding, if I get brave enough to actually do it, I would love to make it to a team event, I am afraid that I would be the only one participating and all of my Sparkies cheering me on! emoticon

Can I be the team reporter for this event? Have camera, will travel! I can't imagine what running would look like with everyone slipping and sliding while trying to run, but it would make some nice photos or maybe I would video it. Let me know when Lorie. emoticon

Wow - that sounds interesting. I gotta admit while it looks cool, the prospect of getting all muddy and dirty doesn't appeal to me. I would happily stand by and cheer others on though ;)

I haven't figured out my fitness goals yet - now you've got me thinking about it...

I think this will be my mid year goal:

http://www.usmcmudrunnc.com/index.html

It just looks like a lot of fun and I like that there is not so much pressure to finish first, or second, or not last at least!

I need to work on my time, walk wise, I am one slow girl! Getting back into it last week, it took me an hour to complete three miles (w/inclines) so the remainder of this month will be devoted to consistency!

Seems like everyone has some great goals (without making themselves slaves to the numbers emoticon ).

How has the first week been?

I've managed to not eat chocolate all week, took two days off from exercising, tried 2 new recipes and left the house at 4p.m. yesterday. So far so good for me.

What about you?

I know exactly what you mean. I have a love/hate relationship with my scale :-) I've always weighed every day, but no more. I've decided to weigh myself once a week from now on because the fluctuations make me crazy. Also, I'm loving the new SP 28-Day Boot Camp DVD. It's great for days when I don't have the time to get out hiking.

Trying to get back on track - since I have been off for a good while!! So far - I can say I did good one day, not so good one day - and today will be good!!!
I find it hard to stay motivated when I see no response on the scale - so I am going to focus on how I feel and what I can do...and stick with it! Looking forward to a pleasant weekend and being outside for some of it!!!!!!! Happy new year Sparkers!!

Sounds like everyone is ready to get 2012 off to a good start. I upped my exercise time this morning to 45 minutes instead of the 30 I had been doing and managed to get 7.64 miles on the recumbent bike at interval speeds averaging 10mph. My goal is to be able to do this consistently. Lets all kick wintertime doldrums and Spring will arrive with us being healthier and ready for outside activities. Can't wait until we can all get together again.
emoticon to all! Mel

My aspirations for 2012 include:

1) Strive to have a bit more organization and less "stuff"
2) Maintain family activities such as hiking and camping. We love to travel.
3) Get more involved in my Church
4) Keep working on the Dave approach to my finances.
5) I joined Planet Fitness, in order to make good on last year's "resolutions" to incorporate more exercise and focus on a little "me" time.

I also stopped making New Year resolutions several years ago. I do have some goals for the year though. My main goal is to get back out on the hiking trails more since that's my favorite way to exercise. Healthier eating is another area I need to work on.

I've just finished my "healthier than normal" lunch after my "get your butt back in gear" workout this morning. Which was after I went to Whole Foods saying "must get real food, must plan snacks, must stop eating like a zombie."

I've stopped doing resolutions and started looking toward things I want in my life. And if I think about them long enough, I found I actually DO them and they become a part of my life. Ta-Da!
emoticon

My four: 1) Eat healthier (aka: Don't snack on chocolate bars which means I plan my snacks)
2) Exercise 20 minutes (at least) 5 days a week
3) Take two hours a week to relax (bath, reading etc.)
4) Do something new every week (new recipe, leave my house at 11 a.m. on a
Wednesday, try a new food, a new exercise class)

What do you want in the New Year? Where do you need the team to cheer you on, offer you support and discuss?
