I like the way you're thinking. I'm open all weekends as well, but was contemplating going off some weekend, but I shall stay put on the 18th & 19th now that I have something to do!

Given that you are our captain, do you want to start a thread and ask for ideas? I've been slammed at work and thinking seems to be a luxury item for me at the moment. Maybe something will occur over the weekend, but then again, maybe someone will have an inspiration if we widen the pool of thinkers!

I am completely open this month, so any weekend works for me. How about the 18th? That's just far enough out for people to plan.

What to do is a challenge isn't it?

I'm thinking...

Meanwhile, what weekend works for you? Let's set the date and then work on "the program."

Joan I'd love to try a meetup during July, maybe this heat will go away and we can find a nice weekend. Any ideas for what to do?

Hey Heather - glad you did okay with the Kansas City trip. I always feel like things are successful if I'm out of town--and out of my routine--and don't gain. So good job to you!

On Monday I do day 1 of week 8 -- the last week -- of the Spark 5K Jogging Program. Looking forward to it since I'll be jogging on the treadmill inside our company fitness center and not outside in this heat!

Heather - want to try for a meet up in July?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in quickly and see how everyone was doing. I think this has been a crazy month for everyone.

I just got back from Kansas City last night, that's a really long car trip and with did it almost all in one day, yuck. I did get off track for a bit but I paid better attention to my food than I did 2 weeks ago when we went to Ohio. I jumped on the scale this morning and I did not gain anything while I was gone but certainly am not back to my pre-Ohio weight :( Few days left this month to get back to that weight. I did a little bit better tracking my food with my blackberry but that is a long and tedious process so I didn't always get everything in.

Seems like a good time to check in. I have finished week 6 of the Spark 5K Jogging Program. Week 7 commences tomorrow.

I've spent the weekend fighting off a lingering migraine - not a too bad one, but the flashing lights and the jittery photography of the Star Trek movie on Friday night set it off. My trigger is being dehydrated. I haven't been as diligent about drinking lately and with all the running -- well, I've spent the weekend drinking lots of water, decaf tea and Gatorade. About an hour ago I began to feel like myself again.

So for the remainder of the month, I'm going to be diligent about my water.

Take care everyone!

I'm back! I took a few weeks off. I sort of hurt my knee a while back, then I got a nasty case of poison ivy - eeek! My goal as of today is to actually use this website EVERY day. I just entered my food for breakfast and lunch and my 30 minutes of cardio that I did so far today (thanks to the video tutorial). Maybe some Pilates tonight as well. I think seeing the calories in vs. calories out will be good for me.

My main goal for June has been to continue on the 5K Jogging Program. So the plan for this past week given I was on vacation and at the beach and not close to my treadmill was to repeat week 5. My goodness but it was hard to get up and get going each morning. I did read a blog on Spark about older runners - I am over 50 -- and the good effects of jogging 5 minutes and then doing a brisk 1 minute walk followed by the same. I used that to do my 2.5 mile run in midweek. And today, I ran 2 miles. I did 7 minutes, then a walk, then 11 minutes and a walk. After that it was runs of 3 minutes and two runs of two minutes. I was in "the zone" during the 11 minute run. Felt great. Wondered why I ever gave up running. So, I'm thinking that's a positive week. I didn't track food, but then again when I came back, I'd gained no weight. So that's good. On Monday, it's back to work and a regular routine.

June has been hard for me, too. Vacation to DC, grandkids here for a week--off my routine, too much salt, etc. I had an emotional eating binge, and the other days I have struggled to get in enough calories. Two days this week I have been below 900 for the day.

Today I went to the farmer's market in Raleigh and stocked up with lots of fruit and veggies, and at the store I got lots of tilapia, so I am going to try to get back on track. After my binge, I thought about fasting for 10 days, but quickly realized that would probably wreck havoc with my blood sugar--Gotta get on track tomorrow.

Blessings,
Pat

I feel like this months goals are mere new years resolutions that are gone almost as quickly as they came out of my mouth.

I haven't done pilates once :( I totally forgot about healthy eating while gone for the weekend :( I didn't get in all the exercise but I actually did ok here. And I had a 6 pound gain since my last weigh in. On the bright side, if I get back to my starting weight by the end of the month I'll have lost 6 pounds, just the wrong ones :(

I'm still jogging my way through the Spark 5K Jogging Program. This month I will do week 5 twice, and then weeks 6 and 7. I'm doing week 5 twice since the first time through will be on the treadmill at our fitness center, but the 2nd week I'll be at the beach and running outside 3 days will be a challenge. It's a whole different ballgame - humidity and I start out at a faster pace.

I'm also going to try to be vigilant about my calorie intake during the week.

Last week, the dietician told me I was undermining my weight loss by under-eating!!! She raised my breakfast goal to 400 calories and wants me to eat 1600 - 1750 caloriese a day. This seems counter-intuitive to me in some ways, but I did lose 4 pounds this week after 4 days of eating "off program" last weekend. Since Wednesday, however, I was eating between 1000 and 1200 calories. What to do, what to do?

My goal is to rev up my metabolism by eating more calories in the morning, eating snacks mid morning and mid afternoon, and having a light dinner. We'll see what happens. Can's say that will add up to 1600 calories, but I'll try.

Blessings,
Pat

My goal is to keep a work out plan of 45 min 3 days a week.
I want to lose 6 pounds this month.
I want to do pilates at least twice a week, but pushing for three times.

I will be out of town for two different races this month, similar to April, I gained 3 pounds there so we'll see how this goes. I will be more diligent in my food tracking and healthy eating!
