Good for you! I'm an end of the day exerciser for cardio, except early Saturday mornings around Lake Pine with an old friend.

If you're interested in a place where folks make walking a priority check out the Spark Team "Where are YOU walking to?" I'm coleader with a wonderful person named Owlwho. There's tons of people on the team, but what keeps me coming back is that just over a year ago, I started virtually walking with Owlwho and some others. We pick a destination every month, and then offer several different routes of varying mileages so that people at different points in their fitness can join in. We have a thread in our Challenge Walks area each month and we post to that - kind of like chatting as we walk. This month we are walking to Cincinnati Ohio to celebrate the 55th birthday of Play-Do. I think next month we might go to Vermont to see the leaves change.

Here's a link to our Play-Do walk thread if you want to check it out.

I thought about the Y before my company built its fitness center, but at heart, I'm cheap - or careful with my money I guess. I didn't think I would use the Y enough to justify the expense. Of course that was before Spark during my lazy phase. I'm impressed by what I hear about the various classes offered at the Y from my coffee buddies at the Caribou at Preston. But as long as I can get into a free fitness center - and have access to a personal trainer like I do -- I'll stick with the free stuff. One thing I'd like to try that my work fitness center does not offer is a spinning class. I think the Y has one...

Actually my company has a small fitness center, with a nice collection of treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationery bicycles and various weights stuff. It's a nice benefit to have.

My retired neighbor Mary works out at the fitness place in the shopping center at the corner of High House & Cary Parkway that has the Lowes Foods, and what was once Manhattan Bagel. She seems real comfortable there.

So do you work out at the one provided by Duke in Perimeter Park? I thought about joining there, but didn't want to work out with a bunch of men.

Yup, I heard the crash of pads over there. I walk into Bond Park from the greenway entrance on Castalia. So maybe we can figure something out. I usually work out at our work fitness center - I work in RTP - but an occasional weekend walk with a Spark Friend might be a treat.

Wow, maybe we can be walking buds sometime. I live really close to Bond Park. My son is actually at football practice at Bond Park right now!

Good for you Regina. I've been back for about 30 minutes from a long walk through Bond Park. It's a wonderful place for walking with nice trails.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are having a good day. Today my son and I walked 2 miles. Doesn't sound like much, but we have been working up to this for a few weeks.

Have a great day...
