Recently I hit a plateau. I had been doing very well and lost 19 lbs. Then, stilldoing the same things , the weight stuck there. Two months have gone by. At least I did not gain! But I am now slipping because I got discouraged.

My advice: just keep doing what you have been doing while you were losing weight.

Stay the course. I think the body has to adjust to the new weight and new way of eating. Eventually the weight will come off again.

it is so easy to give up. Of course that means the plateau will continue or even worse, gaining will start.

Make your goal to live in a healthy way! There is no reason you have to keep losing to be happy, right?

We'd love to get on that downward slide and keep going. For most of us that does not work.

Have you seen the graph of comparing what tour weight lose "should " look like and what it really looks like. Meaning down and then up a bit then down again but all in all down.

I wish I could find that graphic!

Who has dealt with a weight plateau? How did you overcome it? How long did it last? Do you know what caused it?

I restarted Spark People on March 27. I have stayed within my calories and worked out for 30-45 minutes a day. I haven't lost any weight yet and I don't know what I'm doing wrong!
