I have a deep, hooded litter box and all the cats will use it when they have too. They like to do there business outside. When confined indoors due to weather nobody seems to care. I started with a covered litter box with my now deceased cat, she flung litter everywhere. The cats I have now mostly get in -get out fast. They don't dig for gold. Use the plastic liner bags too.

Every day is a GIFT!

I've had 2 indoor cats (others were barn cats) and both used the hooded litter boxes, but the hoods broke. For some reason I had them off after a while with April. I don't know if the top entry would work well for Orzo or not. He doesn't seem to have a problem with getting in and out of his litter box, but he does have a problem with keeping the litter in the box.

My upstairs neighbor used a "deep" box for his cat (which became my cat when he passed away). It was actually a bus pan from a restaurant!

I once fostered a young cat who arrived with her own domed litter box - trouble is she used it for everything else (sleeping, hiding, rolling in the litter) and pooped & peed on the floor around it! So I put an open litter box next to the domed one and she used that no problem. Go figure.

. Good luck!

I have never had a cat that would use a hood/doomed litter box and. I use deep boxes so less littler gets out and put the training pads for dogs under them. I started doing that when a couple older cars sometimes didn't make it into the litter box.

My cats don't even like the domed boxes, they don't like confinement of any kind. The boxes are each in a secluded location, but open, I guess they feel like they may need to escape predators. I keep a broom next to each box, and sweep around them every day.

We decided to try a top entry liter box in an effort to keep things cleaner. We used a liner as we do with all the other boxes and we used the same litter. A few interested looks but not one cat has used it. It's in the same place as the litter box it replaced.

Anyone have good experiences with this style litter box? Or bad, for that matter? It's been five days now. We'll give it a few weeks but are thinking it's a lost cause.
