Carol -

Isn't it great to always be working on your abs when you are sitting? This was one of the first lessons I learned in pilates. Apparently when I thought I was sitting up straight I was leaning slightly forward rather than having my shoulders directly over my hips. That slight change really engages your "inner" ab muscles. If your posture while sitting is correct your ab muscles will always be engaged. I'm working on encouraging this habit in my husband but he gets lazy and "tired" from doing it. emoticon

Excellent reminder! For me, at least, when I stand/sit straight with shoulders back and head erect I tend to tighten abs as well - think my breathing is deeper and more even too.
