I always felt like the water made my tummy "sloshy" and so I could never drink a whole lot of water. I did make it to 8 glasses by carrying a water bottle around like everyone said and just sipping it through the day. Also, I started putting lemon in water which made it more drinkable for some reason.

However, I do want to say that 64 oz of FLUIDS is the guideline. If you drink tea, juice, etc. that all counts. People will say stuff with caffeine is a "diuretic" and so it takes water out of the body, but actually the amount is so minute, it still counts and also people don't totally understand the term diueretic and what that actually means in the body (long to explain the process).

Also, not everyone needs 8 glasses a day. You can judge by how clear your urine is (to be blunt lol), the more clear it is the more hydrated you are. I am good on 4-6 glasses of water a day...though I could force myself to drink 8 it never felt right and I always felt like it was too much. I think this is because our bodies also absorb liquids from foods we eat like fruits and veggies.

So...try to up your water intake..4 oz here or there is probably not enough,but if you make it to several glasses and you are hydrated..I wouldn't force it to 8.

Thank you for the help, after I posted this I saw another post along the same lines. I will definetely try the water bottle thing.

218 to 200 by the end of 8 week challenge!!!
218 to 215 (pedicure) Achieved 11-17-09
215 to 210 (get a new pair of workout shoes)
210 to 205 (Get a new Wii game)
205 to 200 (Hopefully the end of the 8 week challenge)
200 to 195 (Finally under 200 message for an hour Congratulations)

I know that drinking 8 glasses a day can be daunting. These would be my tips.

First of all, make the goal smaller. Shoot for 4 glasses a day first and grow from there.

Second, get a cute water bottle and carry it around with you ALWAYS! At school, I am known for my bottle, lol. Taking sips as often as possible becomes habit and will take no effort in know time.

For me, it keeps my hands and mouth busy so I stay away from snacking.

Personally, I stay away from the crystal light, because tasting the sweetness makes me want more sweet things. But that is just me. Perhaps putting that in your water will work for you.

I am not a big drinker, matter of fact I don't even drink when I am eating but rather wait until I am finished eating and then drink maybe 4oz. So how do all of you get all this water down? I am having the hardest time with this. Thanks for any input. emoticon
