Cool, I also carry a 32 oz bottle. But it usually doesn't leave the house with me because I don't want to lose it. I really like it and I drink 3-4 of them as many days as I can.

I am still slowly getting up to 8 glasses a day. I normally range around 4-6 glasses a day which compared to my 1 or 2 a day is good so Im just taking it one day at a time. Though with the 4-6 glasses my urine is very clear/light so im getting a good amount for my body. I buy bottle water & gallons of water (to save on plastic) ill drink a bottle in the morning & keep refilling that bottle throughout the day from the gallons and try to keep water with me at all times.

Good points made by several people. :) Honestly the 8cups is the easiest aspect of dieting to me b/c I get thirsty so easily. As others have said, spacing it out is the key. 8oz is really only a cup so if you make sure to drink a cup of water before each meal or snack, that's half of it right there. Plus there is SUCH truth in the fact that sometimes cravings are just mineral/vitamin/water deficiencies that we need to see to.

Usually I get 5 or 6 by mid afternoon + then it's a cakewalk to get the rest before bedtime. Best of luck to yall. :)

I have to agree with the baby steps theory. Any time you make a change, you want it to be gradual, otherwise you'll get sick of it. Start with what feels right for you, then you'll slowly notice that you're drinking more.

hi there!

i have a 1 liter Aquafina bottle that i refill throughout the day (it's easier to do bc work has the good water!!) and 2 of those is the recommended amount. I usually drink between 2-4 a day. AND those littler crystal light or generic crystal light flavor packets are a godsend! they have like 5 calories and nothing else and it's so much easier to drink the amount of water i need to when it has a taste! :)

Hi all! Okay so about all that water. If you're trying to drink it all at once you will feel sloshy. My mom is a nurse and cautions me to drink water all day long, because drink to much at any given time can actually cause a hydration sickness that has a complicated technical name too. The 8x8 rule is in 24 hours. It also includes any liquid that you might consume. If you eat fruit, it counts toward your water consumption that day. Teas and other non-sugar drinks count too. Be aware that diet drink or sugar free drinks (crystal light) actually make you crave sugar too. Same goes for soda and coffee if they aren't decaf, they make you thirsty so you drink more of them. Hope this helps.

Smile...it makes people wonder

Zombiepunk - I've heard that thing about the water before meals... I hear it helps with smoking cessation, too... which is also an issue I'm working on. Definitely going to try that!

I have the same sloshing problem.

Honestly, I don't think that everyone needs that 8 8 oz glasses of water that is recommended.

Without being too graphic here...lol if you are well hydrated, your pee will be closer to clear. If you need more water, it will be yellower. I am pretty much clear with 4-6 glasses of water, depending. So, I figure that's good enough for my body.

I did make it up to 8+ glasses a day in the past though. It starts out in baby steps. Just always have water with you - drink as much as you can at meal times (seems to be easier then), and then bring water with you in between. Take some gulps when you have a break or whatever.

IDK. I think the 8-8oz is just a guideline, personally. It's actually 8 oz of "fluids" which could be juice & milk as well as other fluids such as soup I think!

It's a matter of opinion, I guess..but that's my 2 cents.

I have a 20oz water bottle i refill throughout the day. Before I eat, I drink at least 8oz, when I get hungry, I drink 8oz first, and wait a few minutes to determine if I'm truely hungry.

I drink water instead of anything else. If i have a diet soda, I make sure I drink 2x the amount of water. I also usually have one or two glasses of ice tea a day.

This easily helps me to get 8-12+ cups of water every day.

Never make someone a priority, when all you are to them is an option.

How does everyone get in enough water? I get to maybe... 6 cups in a day, and even then I feel like I'm sloshing around. Is there a secret??? Maybe I don't need as much as 8 cups because I'm only 5'2... Any guidance?
