LOL!

Ratatat sounds interesting, I'll check them out for sure.

I used Pandora long ago but I kind of forgot about it. Good tip, thanks!

ANYWAYS, Ratatat is a good band to get into. Their studio-released stuff is all instrumental, but they incorporate guitars, synth, and hip hop beats, so it's good to move to. PLUS! Every time they go on tour to promote a new album, they release a "Mixtape" - an album of remixes of stuff like Kanye West and Notorious B.I.G. and stuff, that you can only get at their shows. It's like a scavenger hunt... kinda...

Have you tried Pandora.com? I hear about a LOT of bands that way. You tell them a band that you like, and they make you a personal "radio station" with stuff that's similar to what you typed in. It's AMAZING and free :)

Casey - I'm still loving the Twilight soundtrack. I like the books a lot and the movie OK -- I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but definitley a fan. Anyway, the soundtrack is great! I haven't gotten sick of it yet. lol

Megeek - I haven't heard of those other bands. I'm not very off of mainstream (unless they are mainstream, which is also possible, since I don't have a working radio lol), though some bands like that do creep into my collection now and then. I will definitely check them out!

Krystyna - I have been thinking about getting that CD but I haven't listened to it yet. I am sure there are good work out songs on there. I have some stuff from their first CD on my mix. Good to know you approve :)

I recently bought the new Black Eyed Peas CD, "The END" and honestly, most of the songs on there are great to work out to. The best is the one they play on the radio now, "Boom Boom Pow" but there are other good ones as well.

I'll totally work on mixes with you! I was actually just going to start a topic like this if I didn't see one going already. And kudos on the M.I.A. I loves her. emoticon

I don't have my I-Pod on me, so I can't rattle off a mix for you, but I listen to a lot of M.I.A., Ratatat, Fischerspooner, Wolf Parade, Le Tigre's later electro-stuff, even the Black Keys work for me sometimes.

I usually walk on the treadmill while watching TV, but lately I've been listening to Blue October's new CD, Approaching Normal, its really good. Also, the Twilight movie Soundtrack. Maybe, that's just because I'm obsessed, but whatever emoticon Oh and The Veronica's, and Kings of Leon. If I did listen to music while working out, that's what I'd listen to :)

*bump* Anyone have songs to share? I know there are topics like this in the main message boards but we're 20-somethings so maybe the music is different? lol

Haven't checked in here for a while - oops!! :) How's everyone doing?

I just realized recently that it's a big motivator for me to add some new music every week or two to listen to while I work out - makes it less repetitive and whatnot.

So, I thought it'd be fun to have thread with everyone's gym mixes they listen to on it - for ideas on good music (sometimes I have these "oh, I never thought to work out to that song" moments :)). Also, I thought it would be good for posting new music that comes out that people have found to be good for working out.

My mix is mostly old-ish pop/dance music and kinda cheesy work out music (see:Jock Jams haha) but a couple new things:
"Let's Get Retarded" - Black Eyed Peas
"C'mon N'Ride It (The Train)" - Quad City DJ's
"Jock Jam Mega Mix" - Jock Jams Vol. 3
"Jump!" - The Movement
"London Bridge" - Fergie
"Supermassive Black Hole" - Muse
"Dance, Dance" - Fall Out Boy
"Love Me or Hate Me" - Lady Sovereign
"Spotlight (Twilight Mix)" - Mutemath
"Fergalicious" - Fergie
"Crushcrushcrush" - Paramore
"Paper Planes" - M.I.A.
"Hey Mama" - Black Eyed Peas
And a newer song (came out 2 weeks ago): "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship + Leighton Meester

What are yours??
