I'm starting all over again so I completely know how you feel.. right now I'm without my gym membership until the end of june so I have to think of ideas to do around the house/town.. I started just walking around the "block" in the morning after breakfast.. that's 1.2 miles for me.. I googled my path :).. also when I go to the store, I only take one bag in at a time because I live upstairs, so each trip gives me a little more walking a little more exercise.. I also signed up for the sparkpeople exercise tip of the day.. I try it out when I get it in my email.. and if I like it I add it to my plan for some variety..

I hope I helped a bit..

I really really really want to lose weight. I want all of the things that come with it. I've been fat for so long....I kind of wonder if I really can do it. am I just fooling myself? Can I actually do it? I know I'll never have a super flat stomach without a tummy tuck. There's too much flappy skin after my pregnancy. But I know I can get a heluva lot smaller. My dress size is a 16, my pants a 18. I weigh 265 pounds. I don't know where it all is. I Know I'm really muscular. But, still. I don't know if I can really do it. I had a workout partner and she just kind of blew me off. I have a gym membership but I never go.

I think that, deep down inside, I don't honestly believe that I can lose the weight.

and that makes me so sad.

For motivation, a couple of things that have worked phenomenally for me are getting workout partners, and finding FUN things to do.

A workout partner (a good one!) will workout with you. It's easier (for me, anyways) to keep a date with a friend than it is to keep a date with myself.

Some really fun things to do include drop in sports and one-on-one games. I love hiking, as well... Racketball is great, and drop in sports are great exercise, loads of fun, and low pressure.

Good luck finding motivation. Let us know how it goes. :)

Oh I totally know what you're going through. It's a vicious cycle. You want to get up in the morning to exercise, but you didn't go to sleep until like 3am. You want to exercise at night but by the time you get home from work you're exhausted but you stay up watching t.v. or just can't fall asleep...and the cycle continues! I struggle with this constantly. I haven't found a cure for getting up the energy to exercise yet, but I just recently started to solve my sleep issues. I found a meditation cd (corny, I know) and I've been making my bed everyday so that it looks inviting when I go upstairs to sleep. Also-no caffeine/chocolate after 3 p.m. You can even try taking an over the counter sleep aid (even Benadryl will make you drowsy!) just for a few nights to help you get into a good routine. After a few nights of good sleep, you might feel better. As far as the exercise goes, I try to just go for a walk on the weekends. I work M-F so the only time I have energy or time is really on the weekend. If you can take a 45 minute walk Sunday and Saturday that's cardio 2x per week. It's not much, I know, but it's a start! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

I was going through the same thing a while back... Until I joined a gym. I never thought I'd like the gym, I always felt like it would be so embarassing, and it was at first. Then I got to where I was good, and I got fast, then it started getting exciting to see how much faster I was getting. I crank up the ipod and I just go. Until the pool opens up, that's the best I'm going to be able to find. Turns out, the interactions with other people, watching yourself get as fast as the other ones, and watching the new ones come in who are just like you were, and getting excited for them when they start doing better... I'm still shocked about how much I love it. May be worth a try.

Working torward a happier me!

I was going through the same thing as you were 3 months ago. I would stay up until 3am because I couldn't/didn't want to sleep and then I was exhausted through the day. So, after I got off at ten pm, I walked on my treadmill 2-5 miles while I watched t.v. I started making a goal of doing ten miles a week. I started to challange myself more because one week I would want to see if I could surpass ten, other weeks when I didn't feel like working out it made me get up since I would have just 3 miles left. If you don't feel like walking, you can buy different workout videos and use a different one each day of the week.

I am sorry, I should have proofread my work, I meant until recently I have not worked out in about 3 months.

God is aware of what you're going through and He still has a plan for your life. Be encouraged. You gain through your pain. Victory is born out of struggle. Hold on to His hand; He will bring you through this!!!

I am having the same problem, until recently I have exercised in about 3 months but I just bought a Wii and I am loving to exercise with it. You just have to try different things and find out what motivates oe excites you best. My problem that I was doing the same ole workout everyday and I was getting bored with that, so I hope this helps, good luck!!!

So i'm doing pretty good with the eating healthy part. Its a struggle but i can do it. My problem is getting up the energy to get up and exercise. i don't sleep at night like i'm supposed so i usually sleep half the day and spend the other half dragging my rearend around. HELP!!!! I don't know what to do. I mean other than the obvious thing of going to bed. I mean even when i do go to sleep at night I'm still exhausted the next day and have no desire to exercise
