I have been taking the diethylpropion and so far my waist has gone down 4 inches and I have to poop all the time and its just brown water! (haha) I think its working I need to buy a new scale to see for sure. If it works and I lose a good bit it will be worth the sore booty.

Was it Xenical or Orlistat?
If so, that is the same medicine as Alli but double to dosage. I hope it works well for you.

I considered taking Alli, but I desided to go to the Dr and he put me on a perscription medicine. I will let you know if it works!

Hi guys,
I am using Alli. I am not in the proper category to use it. I joined this room just to comment. I am 48 and it is much harder to lose weight at my age than at yours. So it is really good that you are doing this now!

I find that you really need to eat a significant amount of fat in order to get your money's worth out of an Alli pill. Since I am watching my intake, there are not a lot of times when I would find Alli useful. Instead of 3x per day, I typically take only 4-7 pills per week. I do think it is helping but it is only moderately helpful. If you are looking for an opportunity to eat to excess and then purge some of it, Alli will work but the consequences for such action are well documented. I do not have a lot of side effects from using Alli with reasonable sized meals.

I have been working hard at this and losing approx 2 pounds per month. (As I said it is tougher when you are older). I may have upped it to 2.5 pounds since I started taking Alli.

The thing that I have found is working extremely well for me is a renovation project. I work 16 hour days on my days off from work and evenings on work days. The weight has started dropping off from all the physical activity.

Hey PPL,
I'm currently using Alli. Have been for a couple of weeks now. It's true, you do have to be very careful with the fat you take in, not just the calories. Up until now I haven't gotten any bad side effects. It definitely varys for each individual. I've lost more weight this week, but honestly I can't say if it's the pills or just the fact that I'm exercising a bit more. Another thing is, that it's extremely important to take a mutivitamin before bedtime everyday, while on this plan. Sparkpeople.com has some articles about ALLI, I just looked it up on the top search box.
Anyways,I just thought I'd comment about the product. Good Luck!

I've been curious too, my sister n law has been doing it and lost 20 lbs. My question is this though.... she has to watch the amount of fat she takes or it gives her uncontrollable diarreha. My question, is is it really a wonder pill, or are you losing weight because your watching your fat intake? (and the pill is just motivation?) emoticon

Hey! I was on it this past summer and lost 20lbs. I will be frank it is really hard to follow. You have to be really strick about the food you intake. I had to read label after label to make sure I didn't take in too much fat. But it does work and the side affects went away after about a week and a half. I don't use it right now because I'm in school and it is really hard to eat well.

I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things. I think it definitely varies person to person. I think it sounds like a good idea, even if it were only to be a check and balance to my eating!!

Better today than tomorrow!

Never tried it, but I have a friend with some horror stories. I think she's had a tendency to try to push the bar with exactly how much fat she can eat, though, so it may be her diet that's giving her the problems.

Has anyone ever tried Alli'? My doctor suggested it to me today but frankly I don't want to be nervous that I am going to not make it to the bathroom in time.
