Ok. If you go to the heading above that says "Recipes" there is a another heading that says "recipe calculator". Try that.

Is there a dependable online calorie tracker for ingredients?I'm trying to prep my own meals more, but unsure how to calculate the values...

I am reading The Dash Diet Action Plan by Marla Heller, MS, RD. (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.

I haven't followed it yet, since I am still reading, but she did include a site to print a food log. Kind of like Weight Watchers. You don't have to track everything like Spark does, like salt, cholesterol, etc, unless you want to or need to. DASHdiet.org/forms.htm
I printed off the different forms just to have them on hand when I want to do this. I know I need to start tracking because I am doing a lot of mindless eating and it shows. Of course, lots of stress hasn't helped either. I hope you can bring up the link.

I do go through phases when I don't track, but then after awhile I do again. I know what you are talking about with the stuff you cook yourself. I am not good with a recipe. I do have several that I make just about the same. Those I have gone onto the recipe calculator, figured out the number of servings and gotten values for.

I just do the best I can. It does seem to help me to reign it in a bit.

Personally, I think we all find the best way to establish and maintain our own healthy lifestyle. For me, this is a personal journey that I am on with lots of folks by my side, not on the exact same track.

My problem is portion control. Sometimes tracking will make me more aware of portion size.

One day at a time, we all do the best we can!

It is easy when all you have to do is look up an item or prepared food product to enter them, but when it comes to something you make.... yes it is time consuming. I haven't tracted my food on here in a long time.

I just can't do it!!! I typically eat foods with lots of ingredients that are not necessarily in recipes that are in the database.... I can do breakfast and lunch, but regularly get overwhelmed and annoyed with dinner because I just don't have the time or the energy to enter in everything that I have put into a stir fry or pasta dish... I just don't use recipes....

What are your struggles???
