I'm a TOPS member as well. Our meetings are Tues. morning. Don't worry. You'll be lighter next week. Keep trying! That trager treatment sounds good? I've never heard of it. Never been for a proper massage either. Too chicken. Silly eh?

I was down 1.2 lbs this week, Hubby and I have been working hard around our place so I must have worn some off. You've reminded me of all the junk I need to sort through and get rid of. Never mind the cupboards that need attention.

Oh. A little at a time eh? Just like our weight loss. Slow but sure!!!

According to my TOPS weigh in I was up a little bit this week - its a bit discouraging but our weigh in time is between 4:45 and 5:15 pm - I'm always lighter in the mornings!
I went for a Trager treatment this morning - it's like a massage but more rocking motions and not as much oil on the skin. She certainly helped to get a kink out of my neck - I think I'm sleeping too long in one position and then my neck gets stiff on the right side.
I went through a couple of cupboards today to get rid of some stuff that I really don't need to hang on to anymore - taking stuff to put in a church yard sale.

Me too! We are lucky indeed. Absolutely do whatever we can to help us get and stay healthy.

That's my goal for sure. I have been unhealthy for far too long. I am smartening up! Better late than never eh?

How did you do this week?

I lost 1.2 lbs. Not bad since I was out for dinner and had ice cream!

Yes, I am certainly grateful that we have a good medical system. Doctors that can help us to keep on going strong. I also appreciate the alternative therapies available such as massage and reflexology, also chiropractic care and physiotherapy.

It's good it's helping with BP at least!! I had similar surgery but done laprascopically, in March, with no further tx requ'rd. I have noticed my arthritis much worse since surgery. Wonder if the anesthetic does something? Yes. Aging is certainly a barrel of fun!! Though I try not to complain 'cuz I think of those that didn't get the opportunity to experience it. Just keep going!! Good things come to those who wait!

Hey Trixy - I am using a c-pap machine too. However, I'm not noticing any weight loss resulting from using it. The computer recordings from the machine indicate I am having less than one episode each night though so that's a good thing. I thought my energy level would change. My problem may be the fact that I've had surgery though (carpal tunnel June 9th). I have heard it takes a long time to get all the anesthetic out of the system - I also had major surgery last year in July (full hysterectomy) followed by radiation treatments. Now I am suffering from arthritis - seems like my left hip is pretty much worn out from the symptoms I have, which are similar to what I went through on the right side (had total hip replacement in 2013). I started back on a one-a-day vitamin recently which hopefully will help my metabolism somewhat. I also am taking blood pressure pills - with the combination of b/p meds and c-pap therapy, I have noticed my blood pressure readings to be a lot lower now too. Oh the joy of this aging process!!!!

Sure sounds like you have a full and busy life!! That's great! I'm sure it helps to be doing other things besides eating!!

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and am on a c-pap machine now. Since March, I have lost over 40 pounds. I had no idea how much proper sleep influences my energy and metabolism. At first, I thought that was "a theory" but I've since learned that is is actually scientifically proven information. And I am proof!!

I now have the energy to move around and live!! I feel sooooo- much better!! The more I lose, the better I feel and the more inspiration it gives me. I too have a full and busy life (I'm a wee bit younger than you-hahahaha! But who's counting??) but age is just a number, isn't if?

I hope you have a great day / week and keep going girl!! You're doing it!!

Awesome. I haven't decided on what my next topic will be to speak on yet. Waiting for some inspiring thoughts. My daily routine has changed somewhat since I've gone back to working. I do relief and it is summer time so usually I get more shifts. Right now have had a string of shifts - Thurs. Friday last week, this week its Monday, Tues. Wed. and Friday. Next week things slow down again, but I am always on call and can say either yes or no to a shift. I am kinda semi-retired. In my sixties now so I really don't want any full time job. I have a music job that I do on weekends which I love and will probably never give up on playing at church until I can no longer physically do the job.

Hi there. I have recently joined a group called Toastmasters. We learn how to feel comfortable speaking in front of people. Tonight I presented my first 'ice breaker' speech. I was to talk about myself. It was so good to hear the encouraging words. After the evaluation everyone gave me a standing ovation. I couldn't wait to get home and read my mentor's comments as well as my fellow Toastmasters feedback.
SparkPeople is kinda like that - we are here to give each other some encouragement.

Hi all. I've been away for some time and I see that not a whole lot of posting is going on here lately. Just wondering how everyone is doing? Post a few words if you can to update. Hope things are going well and you are getting closer to your goals!!
