every Christmas Even since I was young my family has gone to my Godparents house Christmas Eve. When we go back home, my brother and I would put on our "Christmas play" for our parents.

fave memory of this Christmas was that my brother and I were able to work in the kitchen together without strangling each other!

My favorite memory is all of the food we ate. This year will be different for my husband's family since his parents are now in a nursing home. We won't be celebrating on Christmas Day (25th) as always. This year the family will be gathering at the home the week before Christmas. We will bring in the food, as we have been doing for the past few years at their house. What we might miss is the famous 'nuts and bolts' snack that grandma always made up for each of the kids and grandkids to take home. emoticon

My favorite Christmas memory is the last Christmas with my mom. She had been fighting cancer for several years and lost the battle a month after that Christmas. My mom loved Christmas and each year I gave her an animated Christmas ornament. That year I gave her Frosty the Snowman and she asked that it be attached to her IV pole. She would reach up and press the button and Frosty would sing to her and she would smile. This is one of my best memories from that Christmas and even though it was 11 years ago it feels like yesterday.

Enjoy the process

When we were kids there were 5 of us and of course mom did not work. Times were tough but we never went without. Christmas was so special in our house one of my favorite memories are the Christmas Stockings, we had socks, they we not put by the tree or on a mantel. When we would wake up our socks were on the foot of our bed. Santa would fill them with a orange, a christmas apple (red delicious), christmas candy, nuts, grapes and of course mom would make snowballs. Although we could never figure out how Santa would have mom's recipe There were no toys or presents just food. Can you imagine the faces of the kids today if we did this now emoticon emoticon
