Sparks challenged me today to write a "Secret of Success." I just wanted to share it here in the group.

"The Voice in Your Head"
You didnít hit your goal today. Itís OK. It's nice to set goals, but don't fall trap to becoming 'victim' to them... you know.. the person that talks to the voice in your head telling you that you are a quitter and bad because you didn't do something... The point of getting healthy is re-training to your brain to 'appreciate yourself', try THANKING yourself and saying GOOD JOB for doing 'something' today to improve YOU... a weight challenge for a future better you isn't about time frame or fast, it's about positive change in thinking for a better long term future.

Albert Einstein is attributed by many as saying, "The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result." Some believe he didn't.

The fact is though that continuing to abuse yourself over and over with the same guilt trips while making a life change is insane. It drives you batty over time and you self-sabotage "you" in the process which can lead to quitting.

One of my secrets to success is to set out daily reminding myself that what I "did" accomplish is GREAT and worthy. I also endeavor to seek out others involved in my journey that post places for support and I read what they have to say and I set aside some time each day to tell them how great they are doing. Giving to others, even simple words of encouragement, that is priceless.

I suppose it goes along the lines of my upbringing, "Do unto others..," but just the act of kindness to a stranger can make all the difference in the world to someone that feels alone.

During your journey find places or groups that you feel those people have "like minded" goals and post, blog, chat or simply make contact to feel a connection.

I know my journey wouldn't be so successful today if I hadn't started an online group of people like me that could give me daily support.

Good Luck
