Welcome. I am sure you will find the support you need on Spark People. And the loss of 1-2lbs a week is the healthy way to lose weight and you have a better chance of keeping it off that way.

I have defined my life by my weight, not a good idea. Sugar, which I thought was my best friend, is really one of my worst enemies. I love to exercise and now have trouble moving freely. I want to move everyday, drink more water, eat less of what does not increase my energy level and raises my blood sugar. Eat more of what adds lean muscle tissue, increases my energy level and raise my blood iron levels. I'm not going to diet anymore, I only gain weight, but I'm going to eat to live and not live to eat. I want to do what is good for me, thereby helping my family get healthy with me. I'm not going to try and lose 20lbs in a week, it's not going to happen. I will shot for 1 to 2 lbs a week and be happy with the little losses that add up and not disappointed with them and then gain 4 lbs in a week. That is what I am going to do. I am also going to come onto this site and pour my heart out, instead of eating my heart out. You'll be hearing from me again and if I need help, I'm going to ask for it. Support, support, support, I'll ask and I'll give of it freely. Thank you
