I think I am the last one on the planet to own an mp3 player... I finally bought one. My sister showed me that it really does make the workout go better! At my gym you can watch tv, but the recumbent bikes are too far away for me to see the closed captioning. So, listening to my music makes the time go faster. I still hate to exercise, so anything to get done sooner is good. It sounds stupid, but I like to listen to soundtracks from Broadway musicals. Recently, it's Wicked, but I want to get Mary Poppins too.

All kinds of music help, depending on my mood. Mostly, though, 70's - it was a good decade, lol.

Disco and the rock anthems can really give me the push I need to take another step. The Rocky theme is what I listen to on the last leg of the walk.

I'm so glad I finally made the technological jump to an mp3 player. It's great! (but I'm not getting rid of my hot pink walkman cassette player...not yet).

I have a huge variety of mixes, etc., and it makes my workouts have that variety, too. At the moment, I'm loving the Glee soundtracks, Lady Gaga, Elvis Costello and sometimes Frank Sinatra... um, can you say eclectic?

LOVE music!!!

I like all kinds of upbeat pop songs in the morning -- I dance with the kids as I make their lunches. Our favorites that get both of them out of their seats and flying to me for a dance are Scissor Sisters, Abba, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Girls Aloud, etc.

After my husband brings them to school, I like to listen to harder stuff -- Rammstein, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, etc or watch Kerrang (hard rock music station in Europe).

I like having a "Get up and go" video on my computer that I can watch on those mornings I'm feeling sluggish.

Great Question! :o)

I currently love listening to the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga. They get me moving (even if it's just in my seat - LOL)!
80's music does it for me too - makes me wish I could dance like I did back then! emoticon

Slow and steady,
Sonia

emoticon I agree, I can't face my morning walk/workout without music. I am not big into heavy rock but I agree with upbeat. I actually like show tunes, probably mby theatre background, I get into the story and when it is over, I realize I am done ;).

I'm just wondering what kinds of music or artists people like to listen to as motivation while working out. Personally I loaded a LOT of AC/DC on my MP3 player - and mixed in some upbeat music from people like Paul Okenfold.
