Salt is tricky. I've been doing great all week with the exception of Valentine's Day ... we went out to a Mexican restaurant -- so I know that we blew my salt intake that day.

The key for me is reading labels. Frozen vegetables has less salt than canned vegetables. Fruits don't have much salt at all. I read through box after box after box of cereal the other day until I found one that had high enough fiber and protein and was low on sodium. Kashi Go Lean Crunch.

The thing I'm finding on this journey I keep making small changes. I didn't go from Sugar Smacks to Kashi Go Lean Crunch over night ... that would have been a huge shock to my system and taste buds. I've noticed that as I started really reading those labels and paying attention to juggling EVERYTHING --calories, fiber, protein, calcium and salt -- that I eat more for fuel and try to get in more bang for my calorie buck. I'm no longer satisfied with cereal that gives me 1 gram of fiber, 2 grams of protein, 120 calories with 250 mg sodium. They can take that cereal and shove it. As far as I am concerned that cereal does not exist any longer.

'Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of. You might bend 'til you break, 'cause it's all you can take. On your knees you look up decide you've had enough --You get mad, you get strong --

TERRIFIC TUESDAY:

Y-- YOU -- Started reading a book while getting a new door put on my car.

E- EXERCISE -- Double my weight: 156 x 2 = 312
25 minutes walking around sidewalks around mechanics shop
20 minutes on Curves circuit
60 minutes doing circuit training at home
TOTAL: 105 minutes

S- STRETCH -- Oh, it felt great.

W- WATER -- 1/2 my weight: 80 ounces (rounded it for ease) -- accomplishing the last bottle now.

E- EMOTIONAL EATING -- planned everything today before I ate. Got news that my house back in MO that I've had on the market for almost 6 months has trees down all around it and one huge tree limb all the way across the roof. No real damage to the house. I'll have to pay the $500 home owner's deductible. WHY COULDN"T IT HAVE BEEN DESTROYED?!?!?!? My neighbor's house was. Now we have to spend $500 that we don't have on a house we don't want and can't afford. -- but instead of turning to food, I drove to Curves and took a few rounds of the circuit.

C- CRUNCHES -- 100 Superslows -- Accomplished

A- ABS -- held them in the car during errands all day and while on the computer

N- NA - SALT -- Holding within my bounds: just a touch over 2100

OMG!!! I am so glad that you guys are okay and I mean that!!!! I think I would have paniced and then those crazy rangers?!!! I am glad to hear that you are okay. I am so ready for this challenge. I've never done yoga but just yesterday I told my hubby I wanted to try it. SO I'm about to do 15 minutes from exercise on demand and then head to the gym for 90 mins cycling.

Good luck to you ladies and glad to see you Susan.

I'm sorry that I'm late getting the challenge posted. Sunday I went hiking with my friend in the Congaree National Swamp -- and um, got lost. We started hiking at 1pm and didn't get found until 8pm. It was horrible. We kept walking and walking and walking. And yes, I know that when you are lost continuing to walk is NOT really a good idea ... but it was necessary.

1. We had no cellphone coverage and no one knew we were lost.

2. Even if I had cellphone coverage the only landmark I could give them is "We're standing next to a tree" -- in a place that has about 5,000,000 of them.

3. It kept us from panicking. As long as we were moving we had hope.

We finally found the Congaree River ... HUGE LANDMARK!!! Easy Peasy to find us. AND I got cellphone signal enough to call 911 and get through to the Rangers before they left the park for the day. The problem?? They didn't believe that two women could walk that far from their starting point, AND for some reason they didn't think I knew the difference between a creek and a river. So the Rangers never thought to put a boat in the river to come pick us up. We were sitting on a sandbar that had gator tracks on it waiting to be rescued for 1-1/2 hours and the Rangers were assuming that we didn't know where we were!!!!!! (Note: I found our sandbar on mapquest when we got home in 5 minutes.) My love was scared and pissed. He kept trying to tell them that YES, maybe I had gotten lost, but I still had the ability to hike that far and knew the difference. Luckily there were two men -- angels really -- in a field across the river and they overheard my friend and I talking (we were yelling obscenities about what was taking the Rangers so long)and they put their fishing boat in the river and picked us up.

I'm left amazed. I specifically told them what river we were on and gave enough landmarks to pinpoint an area on mapquest .. we were on the ONLY sandbar close to the National Park that was directly across the river from a HUGE field and NOT dense forest!!! And they never even considered putting a boat in the river. They just assumed I had no clue.

Back to the anagrams!

Y- YOU -- Do something for you each day. Read a book, take 10 minutes to just relax, get a manicure, a pedicure, a new haircut, a facial, a bubblebath, rent your favorite movie.

E- EXERCISE -- Everyone has a different goal. What's your goal? That depends ... how much do you weigh? Double your weight that's how many minutes you need to workout this week.

S- STRETCHING -- You are only as young as your back is flexible. Whether you do simple stretches or you love yoga ... fit in at least 15 minutes of stretching each day.

W- WATER -- Your goal is back to being linked to your weight. Can you drink half your body weight in ounces? That's the real challenge -- if you can't do that fit in a MINIMUM of 64 ounces.

E- Emotional Eating -- this is something that we are going to stay away from this week. When you feel the urge -- take a walk or distract yourself. Then tell us about your victory.

C- CRUNCHES -- Everyday! 100 Superslow -- you can do them all at once ... or you can do 4 sets of 25. Superslows are just that. You pull up and hold to a count of 4, then lower slowly back to the floor and rest for a count of 4.

A- Abdominal Isometrics -- Pull in that tummy!! Here is your challenge ... When you are on the computer or in your car, pull in those abs and hold them. But please remember to breath ... I don't want us passing out.

N- Na -- or SALT. 1200-2300 is the amount of salt that we are allowed that's healthy. Can you stay in that range? Watch the salt, it's very very sneaky. It hides in some of the strangest places.
