Daily Focus Tuesday
Planning
On Tuesdays, We take some time out to Plan our week. Planning means taking time to look at next week and see what we can do to make things easier for us during the next week. Here are some things we can do to plan:

Menu planning
Activities planning
Date Night and Family Fun Time planning
Wardrobe planning
Checking prescriptions to see what needs to be refilled
And anything else you might need to plan. There are tons of things we can do to save ourselves time later!
We also get to have lots of fun on Tuesdays. This is where the play part comes from. When our planning is finished, we get to go play! Spend the rest of the day doing something fun just for you. See that movie you’ve been wanting to see, take a long bath with a good book, or get out and have some fun at the gym. Whatever makes you happy! This is all about you.

Zone 5: Mission #2 Tuesday November 29th

"Dear Friends,

Today I want you to spend 15 minutes getting rid of anything that does not belong in your living room. Things that have gotten thrown in a corner, on a chair, or even the floor. The things that you almost don't even see because they have just become part of the room, get it out! If it does not belong there then out it goes!

This does not mean that you have to spend three hours in your living room, do what you can do for 15 minutes.

FlyLady Rebecca"

Let's grab some general purpose cleaner and shine those counter tops and shine our bathroom sinks!

Clear everything off the counter top and wipe them from side to side and top to bottom. Then use a little elbow grease and scrub your sink, then spritz the counter top and sink with a little windex to make it shine.
This is one more step towards FLYing through the Holidays!

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH - 2016

Your Mission for today is to fling your way through at least one shelf of your pantry.

We all seem to have items in our pantry that we will not use, that we keep shoving to the back because one day we might use them. I know I need to check mine for items I have bought when they are on sale for Thanksgiving. This would be a good time to add the Food items to the list for errand day!

Goldiegirl, I love the idea of themed nights for dinner. I might have to do this. I was thinking a crockpot night would be good too. The sky is the limit. Thanks for sharing.

What a fabulous motivator!

I have had success in the past with menu planning--and I haven't done it in a while. One of my tools for success in menu planning is "Themed days" Much easier for me to fill in the blanks...

Meatless Monday (red beans or pinto beans and rice)
Taco Tuesday (burrito bowls or tacos)
Skillet/pasta Wednesday (spaghetti and meatballs or tuna casserole)
Leftover Thursdays (whatever's in there--or breakfast)
Freezer Friday (pizza and salad or baked fish and fries)
Soups on Saturday (chicken noodle, chili, potato, your choice!)
Sunday Dinner/Game food/snacks (Baked chicken, roast beef, nachos, wings you name it)

Your mission today is to sweep your front porch!

This means the cobwebs from around the front door too. They were nice for Halloween, but it is time to get them down. Pull down all of your Halloween decorations and throw away the Jack-O-Lanterns. Take 5 minutes and do this! We are getting ready to have a lot of people come through our front door.

Back to the Living Room we go! One of my favorite missions for the living room is to go sofa and chair diving! This is where we start digging through the furniture and pluck out the cheerios and old socks! I am always amazed at how much stuff I can pull out of the couch in just one short month! I think the couch is kind of like the clothes dryer, it seems to keep things!
Have fun, this should not take longer than 5 minutes!

Yesterday our company left so I did the bedding and remade the bed. Had time to Winterize our back deck. Rolled up the carpet stacked the end tables and put the chairs in the storage room. Scary to think that Winter is just around the corner.

Well done team for all that you have accomplished around the house.

sprinklers blown out - banking done - had an internet chat to figure out how to fix my Roku remote (that took forever) - I refuse to get cable - - finally got something to eat just now - almost noon - it is so dark out and raining that the rest of my day will be cooking - laundry - I need thumb joint surgery so my hands are not great (too much piano) and really pain when using the thumbs - BUT BUT - I do want to see if I can find instructions for the slippers I used to knit - best slippers ever -it was like they had padded soles - haven't knitted in years and years due to hands - - I did a lot years ago and so happy that some of it is still around - sweaters for Christmas - sweaters for kids - etc - I might try and see how my hands do :)

Sparkgrammy - I have several boxes to donate in my garage - good idea to do it now for the winter -

Today is the day to attack the clothes pile. Now you all know what I am talking about. This pile is either on a chair, on top of the hamper, dresser or at the foot of your bed. Set your timer for 15 minutes and grab some hangers or start folding. While you are doing this do not hang up or fold something that you hate! This is the time to let it go!! If you do not love it, send it right out the door!

OCTOBER 11TH, 2016

Today we are going to shine our tubs or showers! We have talked about shinning our sinks since you started and we want you take 5 or 10 minutes to shine that tub or shower. Do not get obsessed with the tub being perfect. You can do this mission while you are in the shower, just scrub the tub with whatever works. Anything is better than nothing, then spritz it with a little windex and dry it with a towel like you shine your sink.

On to the guest bedroom! Today we are going to tackle the bed and get it company ready. If you need to tackle this 15 or 10 minutes at a time that is fine, don't burn out. Now, if the bed is already clean ask yourself "how long has it been since the sheets have been washed?" We are coming into the holidays soon, and I am so excited. Let's rid ourselves of the stress of having to rush, and have this bedroom ready for your loved ones.

Babysteps, set your timer for 15 minutes!

Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door. Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see when they come to your home.

Soon we will have a lot of decorations and loved ones on our door step! Next month we will have four days in Zone 1 and be doing our Holiday Missions!

Before you go to bed, shine your sink. Do not have dirty dishes or cups in the sink. Either wash them by hand or put them in the dishwasher. It is great to wake up to a clean sink. Gather up your newspaper or mail and put them away. Get your clothes and lunch ready for the next day. There are many things to do before bed to ensure that your morning is less stressful before work or school.

PLEASE POST HERE.... emoticon How you did on Flybaby today. You may have done something different than mentioned here. Come share your day!

You've worked hard this week! It's time to take a little break and have some "Me Time". You deserve some pampering. I want you to set aside 2 hours for a break. You don't have to do this one alone but feel free to if you need some alone time! I want you to watch a good movie or read a good book. Give your brain and your body a break for just a little bit. And pamper yourself.

BABAJEAN...You were one busy gal. Sounds like an energy filled day for you.

I've been nursing some sore ribs that I bruised during a fall. Spent 3 hours in emergency. Man are the Hospital Emergency Care Waiting Rooms busy. Bless their souls all those hard workers. X-Ray showed no major break in the ribs but possibly fine fractures which they can only pick up with an MRI. So just have to take it easy for a few days.

Did manage to make the beds, do some dishes and of course got dressed for my special outing. All is well in my little world.

Sounds exciting. 2 bonuses...fresh smelling house with the smell of new paint and decluttering at the same time. Enjoy the new look.

Been busy looking for paint samples and choosing paint colors today. Going to have someone come in and paint the inside of the house. Always a good feeling to have everything clean and freshly painted. Also on the plus side we are forced to go thru each room and and toss things we no longer need or want.

TUESDAY SEPT. 13TH, 2016

We are back in the bathroom and your mission for today is to clean our your bathroom trash can.

Use the tub to fill the can with hot water and add some general purpose cleaner or dish soap. Let it soak and then scrub the bottom, the sides and the outside. Turn it over and let it dry in the tub and then put it back before someone needs to bathe and ends up taking a shower with the trash can! This is so simple and makes a difference.

Your mission for the Stash and Dash space is to spend 5 minutes gathering up anything that you can donate or give away that you no longer love, use or need.

On Tuesdays, We take some time out to Plan our week. Planning means taking time to look at next week and see what we can do to make things easier for us during the next week. Here are some things we can do to plan:

Menu planning
Activities planning
Date Night and Family Fun Time planning

Silverware drawer is fine. The drawer below is a mess of twist ties, rubber bands, large bag ties, straws, gum etc. Time to cull and prioritize.

Silverware drawer really needs a good cleaning and am going to wash the silverware tray after I empty it. I think I will also go thru kitchen gadget drawer while I am at it. I could probably get rid of some gadgets I don't use anymore.

TUSEDAY

Today we are working on the silverware drawer. Sometimes we collect other things besides silverware like little bits of nothing..elastics, paperclips, ketchup packets! So let's target this area today. It shouldn't take but a few mintures.

“See what you can do this week to make next week easier!”

TUESDAY

Yesterday we went after the "hidden" clutter in the Living Room and the Family Room. Today you are going after the trash. Now you may think you have no trash in these rooms but look under the couch and the chairs. Lift up the cushions and check out what gets swallowed up in the couch. Check under the end tables and the coffee table. Set your timer for 15 minutes and grab a trash bag and start tossing. I bet you all will have time left to spare! Be careful not to lift things that are too heavy and awkward on your mission. Ask for help if you need it!
