Home blessing today. Here is the article from flylady.net

How I Bless My Home
by FlyLady
Dear Friends,

Today is my Weekly Home Blessing Hour. Yes I only spend one hour, blessing our home. If the truth be told, I only spend 10 minutes a blessing. When the timer goes off, I stop what I am doing and start on the next blessing.

I set a timer for 10 minutes and change the sheets on our bed. I will finish this one, but I go really fast with the timer.

Then I set the timer for 10 more minutes and gather up all the trash in the house and put it in the trash can.

After this, I dust the horizontal surfaces with a feather duster in one hand and a detailed duster in the other. Only spend 10 minutes. Then stop and do something else.

Now that I don’t have carpet, I sweep or dust mop my floors. This takes me only 10 minutes. I mean after the timer rings, I stop. You can vacuum the middles. This does not mean under the furniture. Just the traffic areas. Do this as fast as you can.

Next, I mop up the puppy toe prints on the floor and also mop the bathroom. Then I stop after 10 minutes.

Now I spend 10 minutes getting rid of the old magazines from our coffee table. This doesn’t take 10 minutes so I usually work on my constant Hot Spot, the table beside my chair.

After this I put the finishing touches on the room. I take a Purple Rag and clean the windows in my front door and back door, then I clean all the mirrors in the house. You know all those tooth paste splatters and dental floss home runs. I spend 10 minutes tops.

The beauty of this system, is that it gets done and it does not have to be done perfectly. If you work outside of your home and have to leave the house in the morning, then do one of these blessings in the morning and one in the evening. In 3 days you will have your weekly cleaning done. Quit trying to kill yourself doing weekly home blessing. Even if you just hit a lick at a snake, you have done more than you did last week. Besides the more you get your home decluttered the easier this will become. So promise me that you will not beat yourself up, if you don’t get the whole house done. It’s O.K. You will do more next week. That is how this system works. We do what we can today and then we do a little more tomorrow. Baby Steps.

HOUSEWORK DONE INCORRECTLY, STILL BLESSES YOUR FAMILY!

Are you ready to FLY with your timer in hand?

Dear Friends,

We are heading into the Holiday Season and for those that are celebrating this month we need to prepare the Living Room or Family Room depending on what you have for Holiday Decorations.
For today put out the fires that are burning in your hotspots and flat surfaces. Put away what needs to be put away and toss what needs to be tossed. Set your timer for 15 minutes and GO! You can do anything for 15 minutes!

Your mission for today is to check the supplies that are needed in your bathroom.

Do you need toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash, soap etc. Add these to your shopping list this week. Take a visual inventory to make sure you have what you need so one of your family members are not stuck in the bathroom yelling for toilet paper!

No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers and have fun – you are blessing your home and family!

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH - 2016

Today your mission is to clean out under your sink.

All the almost empty containers, the old nasty sponges, the grocery bags, the cleaners that you don't use,the empty jars, the clutter that just seems to pile up under the sink! While you are under there make a list of the tings you are low or out of, and add that item to your list for errand day.

No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers and have fun – you are blessing your home and family!

The Living Room

I want each and every one of you to go into your living rooms and stand there. While you are standing there I want you to look around you and look at the flat surfaces (end tables, coffee tables, tops of tv's/entertainment centers, bookcases, mantles, etc)
What do have on these surfaces? Are they the same decorative things that you have always had? Do you really love them? Are they cluttered up with too many things? Too many ducks, bunnies, candles, cows, precious moments etc? I am not condemning those things but asking you if they still bring you joy and do you still love seeing them in your living room? Or are you just used to them.

What about the piles of magazines and papers? Do you NEED those? You would be amazed at how much neater your living room will appear by just removing a few things.
How much easier would it be to dust these areas without all that stuff?

Your mission is to get rid of the stuff that is cluttering up your living room. Take 5 minutes to let go of some things. I am willing to bet that more of you will find you do want to get rid of some things because they do not bring you joy and you are just used to them being there.

No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers and have fun – you are blessing your home and family!

Today I want you to spend 15 minutes getting rid of anything that does not belong in your bedroom. Things that have gotten thrown in a corner, on a chair or even the floor. The things that you almost don't even see because they have just become part of the room, get it out! If it does not belong there then out it goes!
This does not mean that you have to spend three hours in your bedroom, do what you can do for 15 minutes.

Newly painted bathroom, clean curtains on windows, clean shower curtains and towels. Pictures back on the walls and everything back in the vanity, but first everything was gone thru and things tossed before anything went back. Looks great.

Get rid of those shampoos, conditioners, hair gels, etc., that you have held onto but you don't use them! Toss them! Set your timer for 15 minutes and grab a trash bag and start flinging!

You might even be able to get in a second 27 fling in under 15 minutes!
For the extra Room this month, let's get in to the guest bedroom. We will continue with the 27 Fling Boogie in this room. So, set you timer for 15 minutes and start flinging!

Paper ClutterIt’s October and that means it’s time to get working on a new habit! This month, we are going to focus on getting the Paper Clutter under control and out of our homes. We all have paper clutter and if we don’t spend some time getting rid of it, it will completely take over and create CHAOS!

Welcome to a brand new Zone and a brand new Pamper Mission! Today, we have a back to basics mission that I absolutely need to do myself lol. Time to shave our legs! With cooler weather moving in for lots of us right now, this is the one time of year that we tend to let our shaving habits take a bit of a break. What better way to pamper ourselves than with some soft smooth legs all day? I don't mean go shave for your hubby! I want us to shave just for us! We deserve the luxury of soft smooth legs too don't we?
Who cares that it will grow back seemingly magically overnight! Live in the moment and enjoy today!!

Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door. Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see when they come to your home.

Soon we will have a lot of decorations and loved ones on our door step!

Weekly Pampering Mission

It's a new week and you know what that means... a brand new Pamper Mission just for you! As you know, we've been working on getting ourselves back in tip top shape from the harsh summer elements and ready for a crisp refreshing fall. We've taken care of dead skin, dry hair, and dull faces and now it's time to pamper those pretty fingers of ours. Cheap and at home of course! Have you ever had a hot oil hand massage in the salon? Well guess what... we can do them ourselves at home for almost FREE!

Here's a list of oils you may have laying around the house that you can use. You can use just one or mix and match them if you'd like:
Olive Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Castor Oil
Jojoba Oil
Almond Oil
Sunflower Oil
Fill two bowls with warm water and soak your hands in them until the cuticles soften up. This could be anywhere from 15-30 minutes. If you've got 30 minutes to relax, take the full time! You can fill the bowl with your favorite scented body wash or shampoo too for a relaxing finger bubble bath.
Next, mix your oil choices together (or not if you chose just one) and heat up in the microwave for 10-20 seconds depending on your microwave's power. You want warmed oil, not burn your skin off oil!
Soak your fingers in the warm oil until the oil has cooled off
Massage the oil into your fingers, hands, nails, and cuticles until they feel nourished.
Wipe off excess oil with a towel or wash your hands in plain water
Enjoy your beautifully moisturized fingers

LAST BUT NOT LEAST... ENJOY YOUR DAY!

There are many things to do before bed to ensure that your morning is less stressful before work or school.

You've worked hard this week! It's time to take a little break and have some "Me Time". You deserve some pampering. I want you to set aside 2 hours for a break. You don't have to do this one alone but feel free to if you need some alone time! I want you to watch a good movie. Give your brain and your body a break for just a little bit. And pamper yourself with a favorite movie. Here's a list of some of my favorite feel good movies:

Grab a glass of wine or some refreshing flavored water and unplug from the world for a few hours while you enjoy some fun entertainment. Your mind and body will thank you for the break. And don't feel guilty, you're worth more to yourself and your family when you are rested and relaxed!

FIRST THINGS FIRST....

This week we are in the main bathroom and another room of your choice. Our "other" room is going to be taking 5 minutes at those stash and dash spots in your home. Maybe it is the basement, a corner in your bedroom, the guest room or garage. Just 5 minutes each day to put a dent in the stash and dash piles we have built.

Your mission for today in the bathroom is to wipe down around the base and the back of the toilet. This is an area that we all seem to forget about until we notice it on day and it seems too far gone to do anything about it! Grab a rag and some general purpose cleaner and wipe down the toilet from the bowl downward, the floor around the base and behind base. This is a quick and easy mission to do!

Your mission for the Stash and Dash space is to take a trash bag and just toss anything you can see that needs to be thrown away or recycled.

No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers and have fun – you are blessing your home and family!

MONDAY

We are in the kitchen this week!

Take 15 minutes and scrub your stove top! Soak the knobs and drip pans in hot soapy water while you clean the stove top. Some elbow grease and hot soapy water will take care of a lot! Don't become a perfectionist and try to get it as clean as the day it was new. Just do the best you can and then scrub the drip pans and knobs. Don't scrub the knobs so hard that the numbers and words scrub off!

Anything that you do will be better than what it was!

No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers and have fun – you are blessing your home and family!

For three days this week we will be working in the Living Room and Family Room.

We are going after the hidden clutter in these rooms. Take a look around you and see what is laying around that is really clutter but because you have become so used to it being there you don't see it as clutter. Have you purged those magazines and books lately? How about the videos, dvd's and cd's? Are they strewn in piles all over that because they belong in these rooms you don't see them anymore? Your mission for today is to set your timer for 15 minutes and go after the "hidden" clutter in these rooms. Do not get obsessed and take apart the whole room. This is about progress NOT perfection. Just tackle on thing at a time!

Weekly Home Blessing Hour

On Mondays, The Weekly Home Blessing hour is the time we spend blessing our home. No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only! The time on this can depend on the size of your home, could take less than an hour or more than an hour but on average about an hour. Set your timers for 10 minutes to work on each of 7 ways to bless your home. Your family will love you for it!

Vacuum
Dust
Quick Mop
Polish Mirrors and Doors
Purge magazines/catalogs
Change Sheets
Empty all trash cans

Our habit for August is working on Laundry. If we can control our laundry by doing one load of laundry per day, laying our clothes out each night and getting dressed each morning becomes a simple habit to practice. Our habit this month is all about making our lives easier. So, join us in our new habit of doing one load of laundry each day.

A load a day keeps CHAOS away!

Welcome to a brand new week and a brand new Pamper Mission. Summer is coming to an end and back to school is upon us. For many of us, this is a stressful time filled with summer reading, school supply shopping, and last minute organizing. What better time for a Pamper Mission?

YOU CAN DO THIS MY SPARKING FRIENDS!!!
