Age brings all kind of ailments, and being heavy is horrible on your joints. Also, lowering cholesterol levels is one of the things we need to do for so many reasons, especially the heart. Regaining your energy has to be near the top, also.

And of course, looking better in your clothes. emoticon

Because I am learning a new lifestyle versus being "on a diet" I don't think of foods as "good" or "bad". There are definitely certain foods I am trying to increase in my diet & foods I need less of, but they don't carry a value judgement.

Anything we consume is in general good for you if it doesn't poison you or cause an anaphylactic reaction.
I feel that as long as we know and practice moderation all is okay. trigger food for some should be avoided of course but once a person has a handle on self control, why not enjoy everything.
