Answer to question:

Myth

Explanation:
The "fat burning zone" business is very misleading. It’s true that low intensity exercise uses more fat as fuel and that moderate intensity exercise (that you can maintain for 20 minutes or more) burns both fat and glucose. But, you're better off exercising in the aerobic zone as much as you can, because exercising at this higher intensity burns more total calories. You will burn a larger percentage of fat in relation to glucose when you are working at a lower intensity, but you will also burn fewer total calories and less total fat. The relative percentage of fat burned has nothing to do with weight loss—it's the total amount calories burned that counts.

Myth! Everyday activities like light household work are already accounted for in your metabolic rate. Exercise should elevate your heart rate, be continuous (at least 10 minutes I think) and activate large muscle groups. Shovelling snow or mowing your lawn may be something different, but doing the dishes is certainly not exercise.

I only own a basic scale, but I had a body composition scale borrowed for a year that I have gotten quite used to, so now I'm thinking about buying one myself!

I usually beat the summer heat by wearing lightweight and wicking fabrics, drinking lots of cool water, seeking shade and occasionally by taking a dip in the pool.

Air conditioning is really unusual in the UK, in people's homes at least. Offices and shops have it. At home I open all the windows and occasionally use my Mum's old trick of hanging wet towels in the windows to cool the air down as it comes in. That sounds really old-fashioned doesn't it! But our weather isn't consistently hot enough for AC to be worth it.

I wear cotton and drink lots of cool drinks.

I've never understood this, but tea is supposed to be cooling, even though it's a hot drink. I wonder why that would be?

I beat the summer heat by staying inside where the central air is on blast and drinking plenty of water. Unfortunately, I don't like heat (90+ degrees & humid) so I don't come out until the sun goes down.
