My DH has tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and the audiologist thinks he may have some hearing aides that might help with that. Tomorrow he finds out if indeed they are helpful. Mine are doing so well; I can't believe how much I was missing. Guess it is so gradual; and I could hear most things somewhat. The biggest clue was not being able to understand the kids when I subbed. Think I found a recumbent exercise bike on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods, will check it out tomorrow as well!

Hi team. Just taking a quick second to see how everyone is doing. I'm exhausted today and fighting off a headache. I don't see much getting done in the way of cleaning or exercising today, but we'll see what happens when I get home.

I did come up with a long-range goal for myself though. I turn 38 in February which gives me 2 years until I can officially have my "mid-life crisis". - Yep I'm already planning it. Anyway, I want to be at my goal weight before I turn 40. So I have 2 years to lose between 75-100 lbs. I have got my work cut out for me!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

PFERG66 - good thing you hung the laundry inside. I would imagine putting on frozen undies wouldn't be too pleasant! :)

KRYS They are all hung up on hangers in our spare room--it will just take a bit longer for them to dry, but they would have frozen outside anyway.
I am catching up on SP and then it's off to a mall for sure today.
I will walk, get a gift card for DD#1 at Sephora, walk, get office supplies for organizing the new year, walk, and then whatever else comes to mind before I come home and ...walk.
Happy day everyone.

Tiffany - thanks for the tip on Lysol scrubbers. I'll have to look into that!

WALKING_WONDER - brrr is all I can say. Even here in Georgia, we will down in the teens!

PFERG - what did you do about your wet clothes?

MISSM - you are such a good motivator for getting fitness done! Thanks!

Quiet day today, I hope! Received a bunch of scrapbooking paper sets that I need to sort into my new organizer and it is quite cool out there (36F) so I'm not likely to go out anywhere!

Managed several of my errands and then it was too close to school-letting-out time! I'm now off road, at home and getting ready to put in about half mile going down and back to our mailbox. Might take out the recycling. Dinner is planned; just need DH's presence to get that under way.
FORGOT TO HANG WASH OUT!!!! oops. emoticon

It's cold out there, with the wind chill. The whole week is going to be cold, especially Wed. PM into Thur. where they're talking zero degrees to the teens with windchill factors as bad as negative 35 degrees. It's been years since it's been this cold. I do not look forward to this cold at all. Thank God I can exercise indoors!

Whew...what a BUSY weekend! I'm glad to be back at work so I can rest! ;) I had planned to hop online yesterday and get caught up with everyone, but apparently cleaning the kitchen floors sounded like a better idea. I HATE cleaning the floors so when I found that these handy dandy Lysol dual scrubber wipes did a better job then mopping or using the Swiffer, I had to complete the task. I don't think my floors have looked this good since I moved in 9 years ago!

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty positive about today. I got up early and had a nice breakfast at home and did some laundry and dishes. I'm thinking at lunch I'll put on my tennis shoes and head to the mall to walk around a bit. I'm in a work-week challenge with some fitbit friends so I've got to get my steps up!

I hope everyone has a great day!

MISSM - good luck in finding a destination for the cruise. One of these days, I'll take one! LOL

BECKYANNE - sounds like you have a good plan in place to lose that holiday weight. Your weather sounds brrr cold!

PFERG - love your fitness regime, you are well on your way. Did you get your errands run?

Quiet day today for me, my mom needs to go to the bank this afternoon. I'm her 'official' chauffeur since she no longer drives, she is 88.

Hello to all! This is an early start for me but hopefully it will become a habit. I will be out and about to UPS store, County offices to pay property taxes and very minor grocery shopping. If I am so inclined I may try to get to a mall to get two birthday presents--we'll see!
Yesterday evening I did some fast-paced strength training with dumbells. Walked in the cold earlier in the day.
Today be good to yourself and go for it! emoticon emoticon

Good Morning!

Happy New Year!

All of the Christmas stuff is down and packed away. We didn't have a white Christmas, but we have the snow now. We also have the bitter cold temps again. I've been trying to get outside for my workouts as much as I can, but it looks like the next week will be indoors. I've also begun counting calories again. I've gained some weight and am having a hard time getting rid of it so now it's time to get serious.

The cookies, etc. are out of sight so I won't have those temptations to deal with. Cookies are out in the freezer and I do pretty good with that. I bought lots of healthy food when I went grocery shopping plus my goal is to cook more even if everyone is busy. They can eat leftovers!

PFERG - had to chuckle at your comment about not having as much fun; I know my body no longer appreciates (in the long run) any junk food I may feed it! LOL How wonderful about catching up with your old friend. I know it was heart warming for all of you!

MISSM66 - I have totally forgotten, where is that cruise in February going? Will this be your first one?

Caught up with laundry and cleaning up after church today. Also, working on catching up on all my Sparking that I skimmed through while GS was visiting.

Daily Life Chat for Sunday: Had a surprise visit from an old friend today. She brought a beautiful healthy lunch to share and we all caught up on nearly a year's worth of doings.
She can make both DH and me laugh until we cry; I wish we saw her more often. What a fun day and I got at least half my walk in after we parted company.
Hope everyone's day was a good one, or handled well. emoticon

Hi all! This is a late post for me today as we had all sorts of family here for the last two days celebrating a late Christmas together.

I consciously took these two days off (just had to get back on to track this evening....OMG.) emoticon emoticon
but I haven't been that far off my goals since I started back last January.

Spark People has let me run my own life and learn to live with my decisions, but gee; it just wasn't as much fun "enjoying" all those festive snacks! I look forward to detoxing with clean eating and whole foods tomorrow.

As far as steps are concerned yesterday was very rainy and cold but I got a half goal in. Today a bit less.

Brenda - have read your blog, and indeed things were extremely hectic for you. Hopefully you can get this all resolved in the least expensive way possible this coming year.

MISSM66 - sounds like the change in atmospheric pressure is reaching your area; I know it is mine and affecting my sinuses.

Sandy - you certainly have done your share of fitness activity! Way to go!

WALKING_WONDER - good idea in finding a less depressing way to take down all the Christmas stuff. I had GS visiting and he was a big help!

Got grandson home today, not sure when he will get to visit again. Fifth grade keeps him very busy. I'm still pondering a job change, meet with the CFO on the 14th so we'll see what she says. Subbing is fun but very, very tiring and , of course, very unsteady employment. Wish me luck that I make the right decision please.

Put the Christmas stuff away today, so there is room for my exercise bike again. I will probably use it tomorrow. I already hula hooped today and I don't want to overdo it. Hubby has to go into work tomorrow to help with inventory (he usually has the weekend off) so I will probably use the bike then. This time I put some great music on while I was taking the Christmas stuff down. I had so much fun singing and dancing along to the music that I didn't get depressed like I usually do. I'll have to remember this for next time!

Good morning everyone. It was a good day yesterday. I managed to get all my steps in and cardio by shoveling the laneway. When I was single and about 30 pounds slimmer I did it all the time. I watched what I ate somewhat but I didn't really track and I kept that weight off for 5 years. I never did go back to my heaviest but I seem to keep playing with these 25 30 pounds. So I thought I'd start trying to do what I used to do. On that note though I didn't have a computer or satellite either. Bottom line is stay active watch a little tv and spend a little time on the computer I guess. But I do know sparkpeople works so I guess it's about time management.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Sandy

Well 2015 had arrived and I'm still trying to figure out how the time has moved so fast. Am enjoying the break and having fun with my GS visiting for the week. We've been staying busy with inside things because it has rained most of the week.

Hello! Happy New Year to my fantastic team! I hope everyone is doing well. I am struggling to be positive right now. I've got a busy 3 days ahead of me and just cannot concentrate on anything other than what I have to get done. So I'm starting my "new year" on Monday! :)

VAWHITE - isn't it crazy how quickly a 2 weeks can just fly by? You better start doing those exercises!

MissM - I'm so glad that you are feeling better and I don't blame you one bit for not cleaning when your GD was there. I would've done the same thing.

PFERG66 - Good for you for cleaning AND exercising. I'm jealous!

Deirdre - Congrats on being alcohol and smoke-free for so long! That's awesome! :)

Sandy - getting in those 10k steps a day can be hard sometimes. Good Luck, you can do it!

My daily life today has been routine housework BUT done with my earbuds in and some righteous walk/dance music going on! emoticon

And now I'm "chair dancing" while I check in.

Happy New Year Everyone!!! For those of you with the day off - lucky you. For those of you working - don't feel bad because I'm working too. I don't bother with resolutions because they don't work for me. Actually, it did work once - the year I decided to quit smoking. It was the one and only time it worked.

Good Morning and Happy New Year to everyone,I woke up late this morning just because I went to bed at 2; AM,I did not go out but my BIL and his wife came over and we play bingo until it was time for the ball to drop we stop and have a drink and watch the ball drop, then we talk for a long time,so here I am woke up with a headache,
so my GD went home last night I take them to the airport about 6:30 pm and they leave at 8:10 pm,they get home about 11:30 pm,and the airline misplace her suit case with all her clothes all what I buy for her,so they tell her big sister that when they find it they will deliver it to there house or they will have to pay for it.I am so angry for that, any let's start the new year with a positive attitude stay healthy and be good to your self,no yoga this morning going to the gym later this morning, have a great day everyone.

I joined this team a few days ago and honestly I wasn't sure I'd even come close to 5k steps a day let alone 10k but so far I've been staying with it.

My client had a very bad day yesterday so I'm glad I had the day off from it. Luckily he is better today - his normal self. It's a cold one today. It's in the 20s, with a wind-chill factor in the teens.

Tiffany - I think we all have a year here and there that seems to just be mind boggling! Noisy neighbors are a pain to have - I have dogs that bark half the night. You would think the folks would hear them too, but I guess not! UGH!!

Jacque - are you feeling better?

PFERG66 - Grands are such joys! Love those tips!!

WALKING_WONDER - your client sounds like he might have demetia? Enjoy your time off!!

MISSM66 - what is Sand Christmas?

Enjoying the visit from GS who is 11; went to the movies and it was so neat to hear him laugh and chuckle. Puts one in a good mood no matter what!!

Good Morning team!

MissM - I am so very jealous of your lifestyle! Yoga on the beach, movies, and ice cream ....all I've got is a noisy upstairs neighbor that listens to a radio program at 515am that I can hear nearly word for word!

Working today, have tomorrow off, and the working the rest of the work week. Almost had a problem getting my client to shower today. Luckily his daughter came in an convinced him to shower. He's getting to be more difficult. Hopefully it's a short stage he's going through.

KRYS: I have two daughters: One (45) has a daughter herself who is 21! Hard to believe. My other daughter(42) and her husband have a 11 year old son. Both grandchildren are the pride and joys of my life, as are their moms and dads.

Housecleaning tips: (tongue in cheek). Take off glasses (see less mess/dirt).
Wear socks and shuffle on bare surface floors. Wash socks when necessary.
Wear sneakers and scuff on rugs. Pick up ball of accumulated 'gradeau' (pronounced 'grah-doo') and put in trash.
For anything else on or near the floor, blow hard until the stuff is under or behind something.
For cluttered surfaces: estimate size/volume of clutter. Choose appropriate size trash bag. If you are "environmentally aware", use cardboard boxes instead of plastic bags.
Place collected clutter in one of three piles: 1)To hide in a closet, 2)To really put in the trash, or 3)To place totally in your way so that you have to do something about it, like choose option 1 or 2.

Hope this helps everybody.
Happy New Year!

CAROLE914 I hope you have a speedy recovery from being in the hospital.

I too could benefit from housecleaning tips. LOL My plan for my 2 weeks off from school was to clean house, exercise more and spend time with family. I got a nasty cold the day after school ended and only now am starting to feel up to doing much. I still have a week so I hope to get some housework done.
I hope everyone has a healthy, happy and safe New Year.

Thanks Krys for creating this new thread! I'm hoping to be way more active on it going forward. I miss the daily interaction with my Sparkfriends. Not to mention I need all you to help keep me accountable for my actions!:)

I hate to say it, but I am glad that the holiday season is winding down. I was just not prepared this year and didn't enjoy it as much as I have in years past.

VAWHITE - yes please share your housework secrets. My apartment has looked like a tornado went through it for about 2 months now. I'm desperate to get things in order.
