I haven't posted in a lo-o-ong time, but have managed to keep the weight off and recently lost another 5 lbs. Still have about 65 to go. What I have done to move toward my goal today? Re-joined some of my spark teams!

Hi everyone it's been a really long time since I've been on the boards for this group, I am actually going back to basics and looking for a team that I fit in well with, so I have left a few teams, just so my focus isn't spread to thin. That's awesome that you are back! I'm almost 40 pounds down...June wasn't too good of a month for me as far as weight loss goes. But I think July will be because I'm down 6.8 pounds so far...aiming for 8 by the end of the month! Keep rocking your weight loss!

Nice going Lauren! I remember you from way back hon. I, on the other hand, stopped coming on sparkpeople and the healthylifestyle thing all together. That's the reason why I'm back. I never accomplished what I set out to do. Hmmm! I'm not going to let my life pass me by and still be complaining about the same old things. I'm going to take charge of my life now and eat healthier, drink lots of water, and exercise on a daily basis. You have just encouraged me so much....

It's great that you have a new bike - that should provide incentive for exercise, huh! This discussion forum does not seem to be very active, but I check it every now and again. I've been away from spark people for a long time. When I was active before, I lost 40+ lbs, but decided to change jobs, and it took a almost a year. The added stress doing that really did me in, and now I need to start over. Yes, I know that stress does not have to result in weight gain, but I am an emotional eater, so I gave in to being soothed by food. Big mistake! I found a buddy here at my new job to walk with during our lunch hour, so I'm getting back on track. Looking forward to being encouraged by others that have a lot to lose!

Kat,
I know how that goes, there are some weeks when you try harder to eat right and exercise more, only to end up with no visible results. But when that has happened to me in the past, I have noticed that the next week usually makes up for it. The key is to not let the lack of results frustrate you to the point where you lose track of your goals. You have lost 12 lbs already and you are doing great! Congratulations!

The new year has begun. Another round of trying to get back on track! I started on Monday, January 4th at 210 and promptly gained a pound, up to 211. WTH? I have no idea what I did. Well here it is Sunday night (actually the following Monday morning) and I just weighed myself on the same scale in the same place and it turned up 200.5. I have been keeping track of portions and trying to go easy on the fats but I think most of this week was just retained water that my body was releasing. I hope that I can loose 2 pounds a week so I can keep it off this time. I am also determined to get all the boxes and junk that have accumulated on my treadmill, off the treadmill so I can start using it again. I will say it has been a rough week as I had a few hypoglycemic episodes that I caught in the nick of time (I am diabetic). This is very tricky stuff. Looking forward to hearing from other SP who have 50 plus lbs to get rid of AND keep off!

I was here on SP a few years ago but was never really serious about it. I have been back for the last 3 weeks. I am just not been much on chatting but thought that I might try it. So, here goes. I have done alright, lost 5 pounds so far, have gotten off track a couple of days. I just did not have good time management. I have been keeping track of my steps most days have been around 4000. I am sure that if we all continue to encourage each other we will be able to make it. I have been on the sp for 2 weeks now the first we was ok but I did not do much last week I was slipping back slowly into my eating habits and been a couch or bed potato but I got up early this morning and did my 30mins walk and did not sp strength training. I must make it this time. I am determine that every time I mess up I am going to jump right back on the weight loss band wagon until I get it together and keep on track
I will be doing another weigh in 10days from today and I want to see at least 4/5lbs off my current wait.

I'm posting here, because it doesn't seem like any other topic is too current!

Hi! I've been here before, but - familiar story - I've had a setback. Back to needing to lose 50+, but now I have some medical limitations.

I'm looking for a place where I can get and offer support while trying to get my body back on track! The body needs the mind engaged in order to get there!

At this rate I should reach my pre-wedding weight just in time for our 10th anniversary. I wonder what the kids will think. I wonder if it will be wierd or if I'll feel like the new body doesnt' really belong to me. My hubby is starting to work out now, too.

My ticker moved from 14 lbs lost to 15 lbs lost. Finally! Yeah! The wierd part is that even though it was stuck there for a while...the weight lost over time is right on track to reach my goal. This may just be doable. AMBER, I'm so impressed with your attitude and goals...and am happy for you.

I think most of us need something to keep track of what and how we eat. We wouldn't be at least 50 pounds overweight if we could just stop eating when our bodies have enough food.

It is good to see you both here. It's not quite as lonely now! Seems that I have to keep on the nutrition tracker or I slip in a matter of days. I love the report tab at the top that leads to one called weight loss over time. It shows a red line for your goal line and little purple dots for your weigh ins. You've probably already seen it but it is very motivating to me to see that I am on track even though it seems like nothing is happening.

I'm still here. Maybe the rest of the group lost enough weight so that they don't belong in this group anymore. Not me.

I tried something different. This is our harvest season. I decided that instead of tracking my calories I would eat all the fruits and veggies I could to fill up. It didn't work. I gained a pound in 3 weeks. I am back to tracking my food.

Suggestions :

Take one day at a time. Don't beat yourself up if you don't meet all of your goals for the day.

Start small. Tweaking small things each day will be much more effective than completely overhauling what you're doing now. Explore this website and others. Really gain the knowledge that you need to succeed.

And don't be afraid to ask questions!

I am not sure if anyone has any helpful advice but I am in such a challenging position. I have just moved, with another move august 1, started a new job in a new town, have a 9 month old baby with horrible sleeping habits, and am determined to lose 70 pounds. Any suggestions?

2. Click the "View My SparkPage" link, located at the upper right of the page.

Hi all! I have a silly question. I lost 10 pounds and I want the little badge next to my name that says so! emoticon . How do I get one?

3 goals:
fit into cute golf outfits as I am joining my husbands league this year, be in better shape for my girlfriends wedding in September, and to feel great in a bathing suit for our 3 year anniversary vacation to Mexico:)

I'm still here too. I've been a member since June 2007. I spend waaaaay too much time on the PC and not enough exercising. I've been working on time managemtn when it comes to that. I have lost the same 10 pounds over & over again countlessly! I don't think I really took using the site that seriously though until these last six months. Now I really use the nutrition tracker to plan & evaluate the things I am doing.

I'm with you on that - 20 the first year, 13 the second year, nothing this year - except up 3 :-) But I'm determined to lose at least 10 this year too - and another ten on top of THAT! :-)
