I read two good ones this morning. Tips on how other were successful and the other was how to do "me" time. The thing I learned I need to work on are: to share my goals, self- compassion, decide that I deserve some time to myself, evaluate the things that waste my time each day., learning to say NO, and asking for help.

I just read an article called " 9 things you should never do before 9 am"
One of the thing it say is not to contact anyone who brings drama. When I read this, the first thing I thought about was what person doesn't bring drama. Then the next thing that came to my mind was a rule I sill use today: No phone calls before 9 am. It was a rule my mom set and she told me it was simple politeness so I always waited until then and I pass that on to my children. Not to mention I never take a phone call (and/or text) before 9( unless it is a family member because they know me and I know they are not calling for something unimportant.) and I don't take phone calls after 6 pm.

I just read that article. I know that they need to make money and all that but their are some of us who can't afford to pay to get the help we need and this program really works.
I guess that Mindset article I read really needs to kick into to high gear.

One thing I learned from it is that I have the flexible mindset, I just don't know how to use it

Going outside is a good idea, but not always easy with the heat here in Phoenix.
Just read 3 ways to boost Hydration. I do struggle with getting my 8 glasses in. Some of the foods in the slide show I would not have guessed had such a high water content.

Staying Fuller longer by eating more low-density foods like broth base soups, leafy greens, fruits, non- starchy veggies. Fill up on fiber. Lean on protein. Fit in fat , go Nuts and drink up.

The Complaint-Free Way to Improve Any Family Diet
1.Switch to leaner cuts of meat.
2. Add pureed veggies to sauces or casseroles
3. Skip box make form scratch
4. Drink more water
5. Pick one new food to try each week.
6. Plan meals as a family
7. Slowly introduce whole grains

The things I did where we change the meat or the whole grain was more out of cost then out of healthier leaving . It just happen to be the healthier choice. For example when my husband and I were dating we would by two loafs of bread on white and one whole wheat. So I made him a bet and that was he had to eat nothing but whole wheat bread for 2 weeks and if he could go back to eating white then I would switch back. So he ate it for two weeks and then I gave him a piece of white bread to eat, he took one bit spit it back out and asked me " What the hell is that" I told him that was the bleach they put in the flour to turn it white and ever since(which is over 30 years now) we have been eating whole wheat. Then there is the fact that my youngest daughter could not eat red meat so we switch to ground turkey. Just thing like that.

This article ask this question: " What is one body part you can love and appreciate, no matter what size and shape it is right now and why?"
Yes even though it repeats some of the body parts and reason over and over it still came up with over 21 body parts.
Here is the list:
eyes, smile, arms, hand, legs, toes, fingers, neck, back, ears, stomach, shoulders, knees, ankles, head of hair, breast, waist, feet, nose , wrist, and heart. Let's see if we can keep this list going trying not to repeat and DON'T forget to give the reason why.

Today's Article is " 9 Noteworthy Nutrition Goals or the New Year"
Well really there is only 8 suggestions but here it goes.
The first one I am already working,eating more fruits and veggies. The second eat more healthy fats. The third experiment with different kinds of grains. Four: Improve your culinary skills. Five. Design a healthy kitchen. I did this one already but the article gave me a good idea if it can be done and that was to put the produce drawer to eye level. Six. Spice up your diet. Well I haven't been able to answer the big WHY: I am still working on that one.
Today's article is : 7 ways to reclaim an hour of your day
1 When it comes to technology rule, rule!
As I was reading this part I realized some of this things I do and some of them I don't
2. Stop multi-tasking
I don't even know where to start on this one.
3. Delegate, delegate, and then delegate some more
4. Bunch chores together.
5. Don't make grocer shopping a daily event
6. Clean chop and cook once, enjoy twice.
7. Take advantage of delivery services.
This one I won't ever due for two main reason, one there is usually a higher cost on the product you are getting plus you have to tip the person that delivers it to you so that means pay twice for one product. The other reason is I don't like giving my personal information out over the phone or on a computer.

Today's article is : Finding time for healthy living
This article is first am at people in the corporate life style and it is just reiterating the same thing, you have to find time to self-care.
I think I have at least started doing this. I am working on it by doing things like walking to work, taking a 5 minutes every hour to walk around the school playground, a quick office exercise like wall squats or a casual walk around the room. I also pack a gym bag as part of my morning routine and then my husband brings it with him when his picks me up and we go straight to the gym. I am getting 7 hour off sleep every night and we have a plan this year to only eat out on pay weekends. How are you doing with self- care?

Today's Article is " 40 Diet and Fitness Mistakes Men and Women make in their 40's" I found that I still make 11 of those 40 mistakes. In the General mistake I make 4 those are: 1. Not getting enough sleep. 2. putting others first 3. getting to much sun 4. trying to fit it all in. As for the Dietary mistakes I have 2 eating out to often and not eating enough. Finally the Exercise mistakes I have 5: 1. shying away from the floor. 2. not taking rest days 3. not warming up 4. not moving through out the day. 5 going it alone.

Today's article is " Walk off up to 20 pounds in 2 month"
This is a good article for me because I already walk to work everyday and it gives me away to step it up a notch. WARNING: you REALLY need to make sure you stretch before you walk each and every time though. I learned this the hard way about 5 years ago. I decide I was going to do a lot of walking just because it was the only thing a could afford to do. I was averaging about 10 miles a day but no one told me to stretch before each and every walk and my calf muscles fused together. Yes I did lose weight but I gained it all back when I couldn't even walk to bathroom for 2 months and then I couldn't maintain the walking for over 3 years.

Today article is titled " Make your New Years momentum last"
Now what I took away from this article I think I already new but I just don't know how to put it into practice. Well I am getting head of myself, I should tell you what I took away from it right, well here it is: go from your least favorite active to your favorite active. The other thing I took away is that the key to keeping up momentum is to point your efforts in a healthy direction and celebrate each step along the path.
So how am I going to put this into action. I think I am going to start my the start page by not just putting thing in order of how usually do things but also by least favorite to favorite.
The more difficult one is the celebrating each step. I just don't know how to do that.

Well here are my first two articles
The first one is called "How to maintain your workout all year long"
Now this one I took a lot away from it. The first thing was just getting dressed can change your mood. So I plan on being dressed everyday in 2021 no later than 6:45 am during the week weather I have to work or not, and on the weekends by 10 am. The second thing I learned is that peppermint has couple of good side affects: one is that it wakens up the senses and the other is that it combats craving. Now I really never cared for peppermint but it is something worth trying especially since I can no longer eat anything chocolate. The third things is that if I just can't get motivated to do any kind of workout I am promise to myself and all of you that I WILL AT LEAST TAKE A 15 MIN WALK. The last thing I learned was to play so upbeat music before I workout because it can help you get in the mood to workout.


The second on I read was " 7 ways to motivate yourself to cook more meals at home."
Now this one really didn't tell me anything I didn't all ready know. So if any of you read this one maybe you can get something out of it and shed some new light on it.

So this is what I was thinking. Every team has food goals and water goal not to mention fitness goal. I haven't heard of a person on here who doesn't have a weight goal but I don't know of a single person or team on here who has life style change goals so this is what I thought we could do. Sparks send out Articles and recipes each week so I thought we could read those articles or make recipe and post what we learned from that article and how we put it to use in our lives and/or try a new recipe and give our review of it on here.

I will give a team goodie to the person who post the most articles/recipe in the month of January.

Don't forget to get your spark points for reading each time
