Della--I eat a lot of non-fat cottage cheese as a high protein snack---I sometimes add it to yogurt or put in blueberries or strawberries. I also use lunchmeat turkey breast.
And my favorite---1/4c milk, 1/2 c frozen strawberries, 1/2 cottage cheese, non-calorie sweetner and blend in the blender---comes out very like strawberry ice cream.

Beachcomber---We get not only squash bugs but squash vine borers. It makes growing any kind of summer squash difficult. Our butternut squash seems to do pretty well.
We have a long planting season---if we want lettuce and spinach or potatoes or peas we need to get them in or it will get too warm.

GM Jean- We are not yet out of the possibility for a freeze so it will be around a month before we can plant here. Last year the squash bugs destroyed all of my squash. Those things are so disgusting. I was thinking about giving the area a rest and only planting flowers this year and maybe a few things in pots somewhere else just to make sure all of those little critters are dead.

Steak and salad sound good to me! Are there no more bonus points for the team? I don't like when they change the website!

Well, I can't afford steak and I have to watch eating salad as I have to watch the vit. K because of blood thinner. So I need to find foods that are high in protein, so-so in carbs, very little vit K and low sodium. Oh this is not easy but it is working. I would just like others ideas as to snacks that would fit this. I don't want to eat just the same thing all the time.
Any ideas out there?

Steak and salad huh? I sometimes read a blog where the guy starts ranting about carbs being the enemy of life and health. I believe he lives on steak and salad and it seems to work for him.

Big storm here last night. People say the sirens were going off but I didn't hear them---just the wind, rain and thunder. But today it is warm and sunny.

I need to go work in the garden and plant some stuff or it will be too late. I'm still debating about planting peas---they didn't do so well last year.

Helping youngest ds with his application to community college for the fall. He's moderately dyslexic so academics are really hard for him. I'm rooting for him but when I look at the classes he is going to have to take.....

Have kept to my diet very strictly for 10 days now. NOT showing up on the scale yet. I think I feel better though.

This is a thread to talk about anything and everything

Cheers Richard

Just thought I would make mention of an ancient easy diet.
It is the 1 my SIL used to use whenever she wished to lose weight.
You could call it "The Simplicity Diet"
This dates back to about 1978.
It just consists of eating salads and steak.
In this era people could vary the protein sources rather than only having meat
Cheers
