I don't worry too much about carbs. I go low calorie.

Maybe to give the many who are trying to do this a little elbow room. Meeting the exact numbers each day would be frustrating and discouraging to many. It would be too time consuming for others to get exact numbers.

Also those who are doing a lot of exercise might be permitted / need a little more. Maybe conditions like diabetes are a factor too.

Personally I aim for the "lower end" of neighborhood and not an exact number. I never get the number of carbs allowed included for the day. I don't know what healthy carbs / reasonable portions could get those numbers.

Even though the info on this site is very helpful, I am overwhelmed and trying to put everything into perspective. My main question is about the daily allowances of cal,fat,carbs,prot. I know they are based off the height/weight but why is there such a huge range? My Carbs are 135-252. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks
