Today will be a good day. I have clear airways and the sun will shine with nice temperatures expected. Yesterday was a good day and I walked 30 minutes and had a total of 6,113 steps for the day. I did a couple loads of laundry and a few other small chores around the house. Barb brought dinner last night and we had a nice quiet night of good conversation and Hailley got her loving fix from Barb. She is too spoiled LOL. I will miss having dinner with Barb for the next couple weeks because they leave on Saturday morning for Cancun and they will be gone for two weeks. This is their annual trip and they sure do enjoy it.

It is a huge site and it changes a bit all the time. Just go for what you need at the moment and find out the rest at your leisure.

We'll be happy to help. Each section of your Spark Page has a little pencil icon. Click on that to make changes that section. The banner at the top has a Change Banner Here button. Once you've uploaded a picture you can crop it there, too, if it doesn't fit right.

This is a HUGE site. If I only had the time to navigate it, I could figure everything out. Setting up my spark page has been a challenge. I will check out FAQs and see if I can do it with that. If not ladies, I will be asking you questions. LOL

I think I'm going to try making some quiches with all my eggs. I used to love them so much. I need to increase my protein, so that would be a good way to do that. I'll make them crustless. I need to go get some more frozen broccoli. I used to love broccoli-cheese quiche.

I need to kick up my protein, so this will be good. And yes, also deviled eggs, egg salad, etc. I haven't made deviled eggs in YEARS! Now I'm craving them.

Sharon - I'm sorry you weren't feeling well. I can relate. The change of seasons is always very hard for me and my lupus. Cold one day, hot the next, it's just too much for my old joints. Also having breathing problems because of spring allergies. I need to get an allergy med for nighttime that doesn't have Benadryl in it, because that gives me restless legs. I wake up at night feeling like I'm choking to death sometimes form all the drainage. So far, asthma has been o.k., but allergies are causing coughing.

Good morning. It is Tuesday and will be in the 40ís today with sunshine and light breeze. They thaw is on and it is slow which is good for us right now. Looks dry for the week so that is also helpful. Yesterday was a tough breathing day so I was very inactive. I rested and watched a lot of my taped shows, My back is almost back to normal and that is good so hope today will be a better day, It would be nice to get out and breathe a little bit of fresh air today, I only had 3,214 steps yesterday but that is fine. Today will be better. I will work at it and make it better. I need to get a few things done around the house. Hope you all have a great day

How many different egg dishes can you make? I can about 2 and have them come out. If you are good at egg dishes, though, you might just have a lot of good meals with them.

I have been having a heck of a time with egg salad, but have been trying to do something like that for several meals since I could afford the eggs. I was making egg salad sandwiches and doing fine until last this past week. Then I made raw ones, a good batch, too soft boiled which I tried to finish in the microwave (BIG mistake. They blew up all over the place), way overcooked. Finally got to the last ones in the carton and they are good enough to make the egg salad with. Now have something for breakfast tomorrow.

With the nice weather today I got the strip by the garage cleaned up so I can plant some Hen and Chicks. A little later I am going to try planting some Morning Glory by them. If I am not too worn out tomorrow I will plant the Hen and Chicks.

Hmmmm. Egg salad sandwich, devil eggs for afternoon/evening snack, omelettes involving left over meat and cheese for dinner (if all the cozy mystery books are right the Brits do that often), meringues if your willing spend the time, fried rice, custard.

I had a bad lupus weekend, so didn't really exercise or track food. I'm feeling better today, so I walked a mile to and from the corner store for eggs and milk, then discovered I just bought eggs. Guess who is going to be eating eggs for breakfast every day? LOL

I haven't been getting enough protein, so I bought some pork chops. Well, I had a craving, so I fried two and had them (and nothing else) for supper. I ate hardly any breakfast or lunch and no snacks so I could do this. I'll take a Pancreatin capsule to make sure it gets digested quickly and passed through. I must say, it was the best thing I've tasted in WEEKS since I gave up junk food for Lent.

It is Saturday and is cloudy and a little cooler. No rain but could be a little drizzle later. I need to get out and pick up some doggie doo later. I am not doing too much as my back is bad and that is why I have not been on for a couple of days. I hope it heals quickly. I have been walking a little but nothing major. I will try do better tomorrow. I did get out on Friday to get groceries for the first time in a long time and I got my house dusted and the bathroom cleaned. Think that is why my back is sore. I tried to do too much. Hope you all have a great weekend.

I swim at the gym, Sundays and Wednesdays, so the weather doesn't matter. Gardening is on the fitness tracker, so is raking and heavy cleaning/house cleaning. Pushing a loaded grocery cart around a crowded store isn't, but it should be, IMHO. :-).

I need to get started gardening here, hoping I can afford to water. With all the flooding going on in the Midwest they say the cost of food is going to be skyrocketing.

I never noticed if gardening is listed anywhere in the fitness log, but it is a lot of heavy exercise when you are trying to get the garden started. Not as heavy after planting, but still good exercise.

BEBARB, I hope you will be able to swim tomorrow.

Gardening is pretty good exercise. I include it, along with raking and mowing, in my time spent exercising. I also include time I spend walking around large stores like Walmart and Home Depot. Today was aerobic day for me, but I got so busy running errands I missed it. I may try to do both aerobics and strength tomorrow since I'm going to swim on Sunday. If the cold winds stop blowing here, I'll be out there gardening, too.

I'm still having a hard time doing any exercises. I'm determined to do at least one SP video today.

On the upside, I got a really great buy on markedown plants yesterday, and I've been working on getting them repotted in better soil or planted out today. It's so hard to keep up with the gardens, the cleaning, the cooking, the tracking and everything else! I'm just getting too old for this is all there is to it.

I'm having an epic lupus flare and don't feel much like doing anything. It was cool yesterday, so I got a bit of gardening done before it started to rain. Supposed to only go up to 59 today and rainy, so I'm staying inside and resting up.

I'm resetting my trackers tomorrow and starting over.

Our weather is far from nice here. We had blizzard conditions again yesterday after it rained and froze, I am glad that you all are okay and made it through your storms. Sorry about the neighbors garage BEBARB

SharonCapps: Don't get lulled by the nice weather. When it hit here it was just a little rainy/snowing and suddenly Bam. I guess that's why they call it a bomb cyclone.

FancyQtr: Glad to hear all is well there. I was worried you might have problems. All my utility cables are underground here and the electricity only went off in the morning for 6 minutes then flickered occasionally the rest of the day. The TV reception (indoor antenna) was the pits. Just found out this afternoon that the top third of my huge spruce tree came off and landed on my neighbors garage. That's going to cost me a pretty penny.

Bebarb, you mean you had power? I no longer have my login streak going because power went out around 12:30 yesterday and didn't come back on until 9:30 this morning. It was cold in the house when I got up, but Orzo wanted fed. I was trying to figure out how to clean off my truck when a neighbor came over to take a couple of us to the house across the street from him to get warm. It was so nice of the neighbors.

Don't know how high our winds got, but pretty high. A neighbor up the street had a big pine tree blown over onto his house. I just looked out back and it looks like my apple tree might have been destroyed. I'm not going out there today to find out. I'd be on my rear trying to get there.

I did get some things done yesterday that I hadn't before. I cleaned up my geraniums and started cleaning up some places in the study (need to vacuum to get much farther) so I an start seeds and have a place to do painting, too. I think I will also move a few of the geraniums because Orzo wants to get in the window where they are now. Guess that's an advantage of having no power.

Wow, Bebarb, those winds sound terrible. We are in the midst of a blizzard warning with snow supposed to be moving in and high winds but so far no snow and that is fine with me.

Wow! I'm glad you didn't get hurt out in that wind! I had something similar happen one year when a hurricane was coming. I got home from work just as a big outer band hit, and a limb from a tree next door flew by me when I was entering the front door! Scared me silly!

LOL about the glass of water and the dishwasher. I might try that.

The cyclone/blizzard the weather people have been predicting the last few days hit here at 10 am. Now, at almost 6 pm, it's still blowing/snowing. The wind got up to 97 mph at the airport just east of me. There's not supposed to be any letup until early morning, and then just a bit.

A big ash tree in the school yard across the street from me blew over earlier, but, luckily, didn't hit anything.

They're saying on the news that there are about 1000 people stranded in their cars around town despite all the warnings not to drive that have been given. Some of the stranding is because roads are blocked by accidents and there isn't enough help to clear them away.

I went outside once, to rescue my rain barrels after I saw one fly by the window. The wind caught me from behind, and I had to run a few steps to keep it from blowing me over. Luckily I was by the edge of the house and managed to step behind it out of the main force of the wind. That was enough for me.

I heard Denver is getting hit worse than we are. This thing's headed northeast across Kansas and into the mid-west so if you live in its path be ready.

Hailley is y 12 year old poodle so not sure if the mixture would work on her or not. I have new antibiotics and am using her medicated shampoo and that is helping. There isn't much I wouldn't do to keep her healthy. Thanks for the suggestions.

You could pour a glass of water under it and tell them it's leaking off and on. In my experience apartment managers worry more about water damage than keeping their renters happy.

We're under blizzard and high wind warnings all day so no way I'm going to the gym. Guess I'll do what I can here in my basement.

I'm forced to do a deep cleaning of my kitchen today. I've been lazy, and things were piling up. Mainly, I've been avoiding cleaning the dishwasher, which is old and doesn't drain well. If I don't use it often, which is difficult since I'm only one person, the water in the bottom goes stagnant and starts to smell. Pouring bleach in usually helps, but it eventually gets to a point where it just has to be taken apart and cleaned.

I had dishes piled up, so I had to do all those first, which involved washing, drying, washing more, drying, putting them all away until I could clean down the counters. I haven't gotten to the dishwasher yet, but I'm DETERMINED to get that done today.

I wish I knew some way to break this thing completely so I could get the apartment complex to give me a new one. I keep promising myself I'm just going to wash the dishes by hand daily and avoid all this, but again, lazy.

We had a little bit of icy snow last night. I don't think I ever saw any like that before. It wasn't soft and it wasn't the heavy, wet snow. It was all crunchy.

I headed out early for pickleball today and got in about 2 hours of game play (out of 3.25 hours there total) and then practiced some against the wall. Got a bit worn out. Then went to get something clear that I need to have for a class I will be taking. It turned out to be a typo, which is what I thought it might be. I just didn't know what they were wanting otherwise.

It's a beautiful day today! Clear blue skies, upper 60's. I've been for my walk, not I'm taking my plants back outside and work in the yard a bit.

DEBOW - Winters have been crazy down here as well. For 4 years, we have very mild, dry winters with no freezes to speak of. Last year, we had a 3-day freeze that killed most of my outdoor plants down to the ground. Some came back, but I lost my favorite hibiscus. I'm hoping "winter" per se is over now, and our spring will be wonderful. We only get two months of spring, March and April, before the temps get up into the 90s, so I enjoy it while I can.

SHARONCAPPS - I have a mixture that may help with the skin breakouts. It sounds counter-intuitive when you hear what it is, but my son has rosacea pretty badly, and this keeps his skin clear and smooth as long as he uses it. Mix one ounce of hexane free castor oil (carrier oil) with 1 oz. of organic virgin coconut oil (antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal, antiparasitic) and add 10 drops of tea tree oil (antiseptic, antibiotic). Spread it on the affected skin, AVOIDING THE EYES, every night before bed, giving it time to soak in before you actually lay down on your pillow. You may want to put a protective case on the pillow to keep it from getting oily. If you do this every night, within two weeks, it will clear your skin up completely. After it's clear, you only have to use it three times a week. Dermatologists have found that a lot of rosacea is caused by an overabundance of demodex mites on the face. This mixture kills them by smothering them, and the coconut oil is antiparasitic so it helps too. The antiseptic and antibiotic properties help heal the skin.

I had a breakout of a skin parasite several years ago that the doctors could not identify, and I tried everything they gave me, but this was the only thing that finally cured it.

It's warmer today but the wind has picked up. A lot of the snow has melted so I'm hoping more of the moisture from it will end up in the ground here instead of as rain in Kansas.

I crocheted a holder with a strap for the water bottle I take to Silver Sneakers and used it today. The first thing I realized is that I don't really carry my water bottle that much on gym days. Mostly it sits near at hand while I work out. The second is that it would be better (at least the strap part) sewn out of cloth than crocheted. I don't usually carry a water bottle when I walk so I probably won't try sewing a holder for it.

Good morning. It is a cold morning but will warm a little today. Looks like we might be starting to see some warmer temperatures coming up but with that comes more snow. The weekend looks like snow and again next week. When will it end. I sure hope it starts to thaw down soon. A little sunshine and warmer temps and it will at least start to settle and maybe I will be able to see over the piles again. Yesterday I walked 20 minutes and did 4,301 total steps for the day. I did small things around the house and rested. Today Hailley gets her hair cut and I am glad for that. Her skin is breaking out again so I want to do her annual check up next week and get the skin cultured to make sure she isnít resistant to the drug she is taking. I need to get some relief for her. Off to get busy. Have a good day.

DAINFL - This has been an unseasonably snowy/icy winter, normally we get one or two 4-6 range snowfalls and that is it and this year we've had ice mixed in with it. Last year's winter was pretty mind and it's been not bad the last few years, guess we were due. We're expecting between tonight and tomorrow 1-2" with an icy precip Friday morning and then changes all to rain with a chance of T-storms on Saturday, it's the up and down temperatures that are messing with my allergies! Next week it's supposed to be in 40-50's and boy am I looking forward to that weather! It'll be Spring break on Purdue University campus so it'll be quiet in our office!

We got to the mid 40s today. It was still the 30s when I fell asleep for a few hours, so I didn't get outside any.

I have had a jungle in my living room before. Lost most of the plants I had then. Now I have Aloe, 2 Christmas cacti, and 3 African violets in the living room and 6 geraniums in the front bedroom.

Still a lot of snow here. We don't get away from the threat of frost until at least mid-May usually. Sometimes it isn't until June.

We just finished up a few really cold days. FancyQtr, we did get the 6" or so of snow over the weekend, and no Chinooks to carry the moisture away (yet). Today is supposed to get up into the 50s so my trees will get a good watering. I forgot about the hail storms that turn vegetable gardens into toss salads. That and the cost of water are two other reasons I don't have one.

It's mammogram day for me. I haven't even showered and dressed to go yet, and I'm already cringing from the anticipated pain.

Good morning , everyone! Luckily, my plants all survived the cold last night, but it's going down to freezing again tonight, so they'll get covered again. Hopefully, after that, the threat of frost will be gone.

In the meantime, I have what looks like a jungle in my LR of this tiny 518 sf apartment. I really need to get rid of a lot of these plants. I've put it off too long.

But today, I have to spend the day doing all the things I didn't get done yesterday, like cleaning out the dishwasher. I looked in it, and the dishes look worse than when I put them in, so I have to disassemble it and clean it well. Another thing I've put off for too long.

I just can't keep up!

Good morning this fine Wednesday morning. It is 0 degrees out there this morning and will be about 11 degrees for our high today. The sun will shine and hopefully no wind. I am feeling pretty good this morning. Yesterday was a good but quiet day,, I walked for 20 minutes with 4,361 total steps for the day. I did a few small chores around the house and that was good. Today I would like to get some bigger chores done. Time will tell. Barb brought dinner last night and we had a nice chat and enjoyed some relaxing time together. I always enjoy my night with her.

BEBARB, did you get the snow this weekend? We got somewhere between 4 and 6 inches and it stayed really cold, finally getting above freezing today (I think).

I am about 60 miles north of BEBARB in Denver. I also have problems with gardening, but not from the deer and bears. Mainly it's the dryness and bugs. I have not been able to afford water for the last several years, so haven't had my garden. A friend grew from my free seeds, but he didn't have any luck, either. The first year the draught got his garden and last year it was the hail and he had a nice garden going then. He is a landscaper for the city golf places in his city.

I am ready for spring, too, but I am still glad that I am not in the areas that have so much snow. I would just as soon be where there is mild weather like we have here.

DainFL - Your friend was spot on, except she forgot the not so occasional drought year or three and the freeze-thaw, freeze-thaw winters that kill the trees. I've had all of it but the bears. Last summer the deer broke down my fence to get in and girdle my baby Montmorency cherry tree to the point that there's no saving it. They also ate the flowers and growing tips off my roses. Not even enough for a good snack, but I guess they couldn't stand it that they were fenced out. If I were younger I'd move, but it's not worth it at my age.

BeBarb - my friend moved to Colorado last year. She and I love to garden, so I asked her what gardening was like in CO. She said you drill a hole in a rock, plant something, and watch it die. She finally made some raised beds, and the deer ate all her veggies, so she put up fences. Bears dug up all her root crops and ate them. She says she is giving up, that she would have to live in an armed encampment to be able to grow anything.

VALCAM, my son lives in Seattle, and he's sick to death of the cold, rain and snow this year. He told me he loves Seattle, but he really is thinking of moving somewhere else that is cheaper and warmer. I keep trying to get him to come to FL, but he spent his teen years here, and he hates it. I think we'll both probably eventually end up some place like Arizona or SoCal.

Debow58 - I don't think I could live in a place where it snows most of the winter. I left SC (my home state) for FL because I got sick of the ice storms. We rarely had snow, just ice. I just wanted to be warm!

Sharon, that's a lot to get done.I just told me my son the other day I was tempted to go buy paper plates and eat TV dinners so I wouldn't have to mess up the kitchen after giving it a good spring clean.

I have been so busy lately, my apartment just goes from uber clean to a wreck in a matter of days.

In the high plains of Colorado we've been jumping back and forth between 50-60 degrees for a short while and then 10-20 degrees for a few days. There's been very little snow, but it's been like that for several years. We seem to be always either in a drought or on the verge of one anymore. One thing for sure, the wind, which has always been a factor, is noticeably worse.

I just got back from a Silver Sneakers session. Now to get the laundry done. I make schedules for the house work - do this Monday and that Tuesday, etc. Unfortunately, I've never been good at following schedules. LOL Oh well, it's not like the dust and dirt are going to spoil or run away.

Seems like the weather is affecting everyone everywhere. I'm in California, the Bay Area and am also sick and tired of cloudy, rainy days. The whole world needs some Vitamin D about now. A sunny day can make all the difference in mood. Keeping busy clearing out and purging unnecessary stuff from closets and drawers. . the makes me feel good!

We have unseasonably super cold below 0 wind chills this early in March, today it's a bit warmer than yesterday, which was about 12 degrees and today we are up to 16 right now, but it's breezy and snowing like no tomorrow - they say flurries, I say Snow Showers.

Heard we may be accumulating snow come Thursday and Friday I'm off but Hubby and I have to go get our taxes done so I took a personal business day from work.

I'm ready for Spring like temperatures!

Good morning. It looks like it might be a little warmer today with sunshine, That makes me feel good. I am feeling okay this morning. Yesterday was a good day, I did three loads of clothes and got all my recycle stuff out to the bins and cleaned out the stuff in the fridge that was starting to grow. I also did some other small projects. Today I would like to dust and maybe get some of the bathroom cleaned. It is like starting over again. Seems like cleaning is like that. When you get done it is time to start over. It is good to try and stay busy. I walked for 25 minutes yesterday and had a total of 5, 215 steps for the day ,
Not a bad day. Hope your day was good also.

I am in Minnesota and it has been cold and lots of snow this winter. It doesn't look like spring will be here for a while yet. We have huge piles of snow and it has not even started to thaw.

I noticed we didn't have a chat thread, so thought I'd start one, because I like to chat about things other than my weight and diet, and I'm not into games.

It's been an unseasonable winter here in N. Florida, and I'm sick to death of it! Rainy, cold then hot, dreary, cloudy. Winter is usually dry, sunny and cool, which makes it my favorite season here. I've hated every day of this winter, well, all except a few days around Christmas when my son visited and the weather was actually pretty nice.

Now, after being in the mid-to-upper 70s and low 80s all week (but cloudy), it's decided only to get up to 59 today and down to freezing tonight. I just got all my plants settled outside after having to bring them in for the winter, now this. It's so depressing.

On the other hand, it's only 15 days officially until spring, so maybe things will change.
