Good Evening Everyone

Wow i thought we were in for the snow today, it started yesterday didnt stop until this afternoon, it came down really thick, but thankfully the roads has cleared, still slpippery though, so as you can guess i`ve stayed in today lol, i find the older i have got, when i fall it really shake`s me up, but when not that long ago if i fell i`d bunce back up and not think anything of it, i think a lot of us is like that, age doesnt come by it`s self does it.

Pamela congrats on another 2 pounds, your doing great, i weighed on Sunday and lost 4 pounds, i was over the moon, we are on the right track yeah!!!!.

Twila how long did your friend have too keep off her foot? i`m not worried about the op that much really, well only a bit lol, its how will i manage afterwards owing too not being able to use my crutches, as i wouldnt be safe, owing too the other leg, i have a wheelchair but i`m too independant for my own good.

Michele it must have been hard to adapt when you first got there though, we have no central heating in our holiday home, so when we move back up there it takes me a couple of days to get used to it after the heating back here at home, we are having it put in though, we have seen a gas Man who will fit it in for us before we move back up, so fingers crossed.

Marci thank you very much, but no i`m not brave, i have been brought up with it all my life, so i take no notice and get on with things, you have too havent you, i get around quite good, before Flynn passed i would take him out for walks, 4 times a day, not long ones though, but he didnt mind lol as greyhounds are real couch potato`s.
You are as bad as me i was up last night at 12 15am i just coulnt sleep, so i just pottered around the house all night, doing the polishing, ironing, ect, Hubby said i was off my head, and should have gone back to bed, but i couldnt switch off, everything was going through my mind, got to be honest now i could go too sleep on a washing line lol, maybe your tennis match was playing on your mind, i think it was this bleeding snow was on mine lol, hope your match went well, did you win?

Bonnie hope your furnace is fixed now, and didnt prove to be costly.

Brenda yes the months are flying by quickly, i find the older i`m getting the faster the months go by, i`m with you bring on the warm sunshine.
I used to keep a journal but that fell by the wayside with my diet in 2011, but back on track now.

Harvey is trying his hardest to lay across my keyboard, when he wants attention he makes sure i give it to him lol he`s so funny.

Well its bedtime for me shattered now, talk to you all tomorrow
Night night

Thought I should maybe explain why I huddled with "I need support". I have a couple of doctor appointments this week about which I have some concerns. The first one is with my primary regarding something with my legs and feet - he will probably tell me that it is just old age, but do feel I need to check it out. Actually after I am up and about they get better and I am still tracking my steps.

The second one is the dentist. I have had to make a decision whether I was going to have to go to a full upper denture or have a lesser procedure done. I am going with the lesser procedure and hope that it will buy me some time before the full denture.

These two things have been weighing in my mind for the past couple of weeks and finally glad I stopped sitting on the fence and made a decision.. I really only wanted to be dealing with the eyes, but I guess that wasn't to be.

Happy Monday! Wow, here it is the end of January already. The days seem to be flying by anymore but that is good because we are getting closer to some warmer weather. I hate the cold but it only lasts a short time so I can deal with that. The weather report is rain through Thursday and then the sun will arrive. Yay!

I am guilty of logging on in the morning and reading all the posts and intending to come back later to reply and before I know it the day is over and I'm on my way to bed. Negative people are not a part of my life because I do not deal with them and avoid them at all costs. We all have our own problems. Keeping a journal is what I do when I am stressing about things and has helped me get through a lot of things without broadcasting it to the world. I love the message boards and blogs here where we meet others and can share our thoughts and feelings. It really helps.

Have a great day. I'll try to check in later but won't promise anything. Am glad to hear of all the good news.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Glad you are having such great results.

Good for you.

MACI

Today is a new day. You can do this today.

MICHELLE

Well, I might be finding out a bit of how it is not having central heating. My furnace is not working right now! Have a serviceman coming between 12 and 4pm. Should not be too big of a deal, it is only about 8 or 9 years old. Hope not anyway!

Have a great week all

Good morning everyone! Today was weigh in day. I'm down another 2 pounds. That's 5 pounds in two weeks. Just shows I can do this when I put my mind to it.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi all, just cking out for the day, It's almost 1:30am and I just woke up. I feel fast asleep on the couch earlier and hubs woke me up for alittle snuggle time, than bam he fell asleep and I am wide awake. grrr. I have a tennis match in the morning. as far as my idea of not eating salt and drinking lots of water, lets just say it stayed in idea mode. I had the best of intentions, I did great until we went to a friends home for football. What's crazy is that I went to the store w/her to purchase some chz and talked her into the chips and queso. Do you know who ate that? Only me. Lots of it. grrrrr. when it was time to go home she was throwing away the chips and I said "No I will take them" ??? is wrong w/me??? Anyways when we got home I realized that it was on my list of "no no foods in the house for 2012 list" posted on my SP. I left them in the car and I am going to take them and add them to the snack table tomm. One lil step at a time.

Wow, just when you think getting an injury might mess w/your life, someone (gil) shares her story and it makes you feel just abit foolish for thinking our injurys are rough. You are one brave lady and with such a beautiful smile too. You inspire me.

Went swimming today. It was so very windy coming home! I hate riding my bike home against the wind!
The scale hasn't been moving for me either. I think I am consuming too many little extra calories.
Gil, central heating is not part of the system here in Japan. I doubt that we would be able to put it in. The cold makes me appreciate the little things like heat in my life!

TWILA

I'm with you. Even though not losing much, I am not gaining either.

Maci

You are doing great, Twila is right, don't let the scale worry you!

Just got back from dinner at my niece's house. Mom's birthday was yesterday and Mom and Dad's anniversary were Tues so we had a little impromptu get together. I had eaten a big lunch so I just ate a salad.

Getting cold out here. Feels colder because it is very windy.

Have a great week my friends. God Bless

Gill, you are going to have a lot more done than I did. I had a friend go through something similar to what you are having done. I think she is doing fairly well.

Macilinn, Be patient with the weight loss. You don't seem to weigh much now. It's harder to get those pounds to come off when there isn't a lot to come off. I'm in that situation. I'm happy with any weight loss. I've had people ask me why I continue when I don't see results. I know that if I didn't do what I do that what weight I did lose would be back on me and eventually it will come off. Hang in there!

Twila, i`m so sorry to hear that your right foot is playing up after it has been healing so well, how long did it take before you could walk on it after the op? with your left foot its early days yet, but i hope it all works out for you, and not all in vain.

With my foot i have problems caused through having my left leg aputated and using a artificial limb, i had that done when i was 14, and for many a year i seem to favor my good leg (that was as its not anymore lol) it has taken all the strain, wear and tear ect, and my foot seems to be deforming and causing a lot of pain, so what they are going to do is, break all the toes, cut a bit of bone off each one to straighten them, and pin each one, so hopefully i will be pain free, well i`m living in hope lol.

Well its snowing here again, i`m praying it doesnt come to much, but the sky looks full of it argrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bonnie yes roll on summer, it can`t come quick enough, so glad you are doing your exercise the right way, enjoy your lunch with Diana.

Bye all x

Maci, Having seen all three movies -- War Horse is #1, Hugo is #2 and Extremely Loud is #3.
War Horse took me through every emotion I had, Huge was very different and I loved the quirky characters and everything about it. Extremely Loud is a good movie, the acting is incredible, especially the young boy and the old man, but there was something missing, not sure what.
Enjoyed reading everyones posts today. Such a great group of people.

I love coming on and reading all of this positive energy. Making me feel great as well.

Maci

That is a really great idea. Counting your blessings however you do it is definitely uplifting.

SAMMI

Glad you enjoyed your dinner last night. Sounds really good and healthy as well.

PAMELA

You are definitely right. After I go to the grocery store, I always eat better. Actually better do that today!

Enjoy your day of football! I'll bet you are ready for next Sunday. Superbowl. I am waiting for "The Voice" to start after SB, and then on Monday looking forward to SMASH.

We all have different faves!

TWILLA

Maybe your surgery on the other foot is potting more pressure on the old surgery. Hoping that get better as the new surgery heals as well.

GIL

Glad you all enjoyed your trip in preparation for summer! Love to even just hear that work, SUMMER.

My Sophia is probably about 5 years old. Not sure how old she was when she came to live with me.

Such a story about your "new" cat. Just shows things turn out as they should.

I am ok with the exercise. Remember, I am in a place where they are aware of my surgery, I took my PT there, and they have a whole file on me. So, Carl, who gave me the new exercises, is working with knowledge of me. I feel very secure with that.

Well, have to get up and take a shower, going to lunch with Diana.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday my friends.

OMG I just wrote you all and poof I hit something and sparks went away. grrrr. Oh well the good news is all I have to do is jump back on!
Good morning sparksisters and RW, hope you all are looking forward to your sunday morning! I have already had a great one and it's only 8am. OUr walk is still working. we are crazy in love still! I swear I think I have found the Key to Happiness! Take a blessing walk today! even if it is only w/yourself. Just take turns saying something that makes your life lucky. Let me know if it works for everyone.

Academy Award movies: The only ones I havent seen are Ex loud, Hugo and the Artist. Last night was the "Tree of life" it was abit different , but good. definatley worth renting. but "Warhorse" and "The Help" still have my votes.

Foot Surgery- ouch! I am a tennis player, for those who don't know, Planter Faciatas (?) is so common in my sport. It can put the best player down for months. That and tennis elbow. It is amazing how fast your life can become painful or stop your working out cold when injury arrives. A few yrs ago I broke my back, and was stuck on the couch for 6mos, Plus had phys therepy for over a yr. I never knew pain until then. Now when I do my blessings I am most thankful for our family and I all being healthy.

Tomm is my w/i. and I really want to lose wt this wk. I just stepped on the scale and am exactly where I was last wk, Just 1 pd would be so sweet. I started 2012 at 161, today I am 159 so I am still in grateful shape but 158 sure sounds nicer. What I am really thankful today is that I am not in the 160's anymore. Hope you all hve great w/i's too.

This chatroom is my fav but so many times I put it last thinking that I will make the time to do it right, well what I have found out is that I run out of time, so today I decided to try something new, put it first! It feels great to not have the pressure of time, this is a concept that I learned and forgot yrs ago, if you eat your fav part of the meal first, than you won't have the need to gobble up the rest to get to it. Plus the rest doesn't hold the key to happiness, you already had your happiness, perspective, the rest just becomes food for energy. not near as fun, but it works.

Gill, I had plantar Fascia Release Surgery. I have heel spurs. This surgery lengthens the Plantar Fascia. She did not remove the spurs. I had the right foot done in December and felt so good and the left foot was hurting very bad so had the left foot done a little over a week ago. Now that I have had it done the right foot is hurting. It maybe still surgical pain which I hope. I hate to think I went through all this for nothing.

What are you having done on your foot?

Hi Everyone
I didnt check in yesterday because we went up too West Wales to check over our holiday home, as we will be moving back up there on the the 1st of march, so we had a lovely day putting it all straight, thing is the sun was shinning and it was quite warm i didnt want to come home then lol, we`ll go up now in the middle of Feb to finish it off, we took Josh and Jordie up as well, they wanted to stay there too, then we went to our usual place for dinner, i was very good i had tuna and mayo baked potato and salad, i know i shouldnt have had the mayo but it was only a little. lol.

I weighed this morning and i`m so happy, i lost 4 pounds, i`m over the moon with that, i didnt think that i would lose owing to me not having any exercise, it just goes to show.

I thought we were in for the snow on friday, it came down very fast and covered really quick, it got quite deep, but by Sat it was all gone Phew!!!!! hate the stuff.

Twila what have you had done on your foot, i hope you are coping well, i have to go in soon and have surgery on my foot, not looking forward to it at all, lol.

Yimmer welcome to the team, everyone here is great and always here to help, i have only just returned myself last week, ive been a member for many a year, ive been away for about 11/12 months, but its like i havent been away if you know what i mean, thats how great everyone is, enjoy your journey.

Eliza congrats on the 2 pound loss, well done.

Bonnie are you sure you are ready to do all that exercsie, it sounds quite a lot, and its only 3 months since your op, i know you have to do some so please be carefull.

How old is your Sophia now? Harvey will be 2 in Feb, he was Hubbys Mams Kitten, but when she went into the care home she couldnt take them, she had 2, at the time because we had Flynnigan, (the dog) i thought we couldnt take them in, so we found a home where the lady would take the 2, only the day we were taking them down to her, the one ran away, so we only took the one down, saying we`ll bring the other when he comes home, well he didnt, i was so upset thinking all sorts, you know how your mind works, Hubby was saying he has found another home as this was going on for weeks, i`d be out looking for him day and night calling Puss, thats the name she gave him, it made me ill, anyway after about 6 weeks he came through our kitchen window, not his own home ours, so it was meant to be,i named him Harvey and he`s been here ever since, we love him to bits, where i am, he is, and if i`m on my laptop he jump up and lays across the keyboard as if to say, i want some fuss, he so funny, Pluss him and Flynnigan got on like a house on fire, sadly Flynnigan has passed away, we miss him so much.

Sandi i`m so happy for you about the masses in your neck, you must be so releived, hope your bloods prove to be nothing also.
Enjoy your baby Grandson as they grow so fast, my lot was babys one minute, when i turned around they were teenagers, but you love them just the same, we still have 2 baby girls too coo over though, well they are 3, but i still coo lol.

Brenda so glad the power is back on for your neighbors, we do take water, electric, and coal for granted, when Hubby was a coal miner working under ground we used to get a ton of coal every 3 months free off the coal board, we always had a lovely roaring fire in the hearth, not thinking about how much we were putting on, but when he retired and we had to buy the coal then it makes you realize how much we took it for granted we think twice now, if its glowing nicely and doesnt need more coal, we leave it now for when it does, as its silly prices theses days for coal, but needs must.

Rw but you do such a good job with your early morning call, and cups of coffee, plus your jokes you will have big shoes to fill (thats a saying can anyone fill them) i dont think so.

Michele you must find a big differance from the central heating to those heaters, i bet that took some getting used to, can you have central heating fitted in your home, and do it your selves, or is it a place where you cant do any alterations?

Marci i wish i had your outlook on life, i have a friend who always seems to be down, and she pours her heart out to me, and by the time shes finished i feel quite depressed, but she feels she need to get tings off her chest, so i listen and try to advise her by saying that its only her that can sort things out, and i`m here when she needs me, but boy it really drains me.

Pamela i`m so sorry to hear about your problem with the bank, that has been happening over here also, the thieves have been cloning the cash machines, i dont know how it works but when you put your debit card into the machine to get your money out somehow it gets your details from it, then they can empty your account, it happened to a friend of mine, she went to get her wages out of the machine, and there was no money in the account, it turned out her card was clonned, the police are involved so we are hoping they will be caught, i so hope you will get back whats owing to you.

Well i think i`ve rabbited enough now, i`m going to alter my weight thing now yeahhhhhhhhh
Best wishes from UK

Oh, and I don't remember who mentioned The Descendants. It is a very good movie. Not quite what I expected but glad I saw it. Plus anything with Clooney is at least some nice eye candy! Iron Lady was excellent as well.

Maci, that was brilliant -- way to go. We saw Extremely Loud yesterday. A very excellent movie. I think warhorse was better and would place Hugo second. We are going to try
to see the Decendants sometime this week.
I'm getting better all the time at finding good things to eat when we go out for lunch or dinner.
We went to dinner with friends Friday night and I had the most fabulous salad --- greens with dried cranberries, almond slices, mandarin orange, bits of blue cheese and raspberry vinaigrette dressing -- wow, was that good.

Do hope everyone has a wonderful day. Blessings, Sammi emoticon

Today I got the list of academy awards nominees. Hubs and I love to see the movies that are nominated for best pic. Haven't seen the artist yet, but it is on the list, today rented The tree of life, it was preety good, but my votes go to warhorse and the help!
Today I put my neg plan into action. My DD didn't come home last night so we had her kids up crying asking for mom all night. It was infuriating. Not only were we pist, but worried. Well when she strolled in at 10am, we were fit to be tied. So hubs and I left the house and took a long walk to the beach. We decided to vent all our frustations out on the way to the beach, than when we got there stop, sit, contemplate and plan of action and only talk about our blessings on the way home. It was great. We took turns saying things that were great in our life, by the time we were 1/2 way home we were smiling, holding hands, and he even picked me wild flowers and said it was the most beautiful day ever! Since then we have snuggled on the couch and watched our movie. Our plan of action is to have a sit down with her on Tues night and formulate the consequences for late arrival. When the kids arn't here. They arrive on Weds 2pm. Great plan, great day. Hope you all are having a wonderful wkend.!

Good evening everyone! Went to see The Artist today. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. It is a silent film and very very good. Then met a friend for a late lunch. I chose very wisely. Stopped t the grocery store to pick up some healthy foods for this week. All in all it was a busy but relaxing day.

Good morning all. Had breakfast with Laura and Derek, my friends who used to live with me. We had a lovely visit.

My brother from Galveston called this morning as he does most Saturdays and we had a nice chat.

Got my day off to a good start.

Have been running so much and working so hard this week, that I am just going to stay in today.

Maybe do something more tomorrow

Have a great weekend all!

Beverly Lewis is one of the writers for the Amish books. There are many more authors. I enjoy them all. Some authors put in the German words and usually has a glossary that explains the meaning. The Amish and Mennonites are very religious people. We have both around us. Some drive cars, but most of them drive their horse and buggy.

I feel most of the books are easy reading. Very interesting!

I have never read a book about the amish although I love movies about them. Do you have any suggestions of one? It must be easy reading, I can't stay connected if it is to complicated. I usually read books about chinese women. ex the joy luck club etc. I love hearing about the differences from past to modern relationships, I usually get these books from my mom.

Dark Clouds; love it. great visual. Yes, yesterday I had a dark cloud sitting next to me in the carpool. We all were laughing and talking about many diff subjects laughing etc, and she kept trying to tell me privately about her medical probs, that I have kindly listened to before, I just smiled at her and turned my attn towards the rest of the fun group. Grrrrr. It's so frustrating to listen to others who's problems never get solved, no matter how many people offer suggestions.

What is sad is that I have been that person the last yr.(2011) My SIL just caused and continues to cause such ugliness that I was consumed, and I am sure I was the dark cloud, I have never been nor want to be a dark cloud again! NOw I just let things go away and realize that ugly people are ugly inside and there is no way to change them. You must change yourself to learn to look away. Life is to precious and there are beautiful people and surroundings everywhere. I will not let the sludges or dark clouds consume my life again, its' not fair to those around you or even you to spread bad feelings around. Plus I gained 24pds last yr while consumed! Yuck! with my new change of attitude or my back to myself before the dreaded 2011 yr happened, I am positive that I will regain my life and wt and live a much happier life. Thanks to spark and all my sparkfriends. Happy wkend all!

Morning all. This has not been an enjoyable morning - and one I hope none of you ever have to go through. Got a call from the fraud prevention department of my bank about some suspicious charges. I didn't trust them so I called the bank directly. Upon talking to a banker and looking at my online statement, it seems I was compromised (although I prefer the term violated). One of the charges was declined (thankfully) but I still have two charges totaling $42+ that have to be fought about. I googled the place that the charges were from - and it is an online dating place in Cyprus I have never heard of - but seems that this happens frequently. So, not sure how it happened - but my debit card has been cancelled and a new one is on its way. So now I have to hurry and get to the bank before they close this morning because I have no cash and plans for the weekend *sigh*

We got a little winter weather yesterday. Came home early from work since it was snowing. I don't usually allow weather to dictate my life, but being on crutches and I can't get my bandage wet I figured I better get home before my car was covered with snow. We are to get warmer weather today and next week spring like weather.

Going to try to go grocery shopping this morning. Hubby doesn't like doing it himself. He did it last week. He's not a good shopper.

I like to read also. Don't do a lot. My favorite books are about the Amish. I live 16 miles from a Amish community and I find reading those books very interesting.

Have a great weekend!

Good Morning -- our little cold front passed through yesterday -- don't like it -- chilly morning.
Looking forward to a sunny afternoon. Back to the gym yesterday --- am working my way back to where I was a month ago.

I sometimes like to read, but more often I just don't have the time ---

Maci, I do the same thing -- I avoid people who I consider dark clouds -- they seem to be what I call takers -- they take your energy and never give anything back. I've been that way since I was in my early 20s -- some people who are dark clouds are only happy when they're unhappy. Sad. You are doing the right thing. Surround yourself with the things that you love and things that make you happy. Life isn't always as great as we'd like, but it's easier to get over or through the tough times with a positive attitude.

Michele stay warm.

I am glad you are feeling so optimistic. I too am feeling that way. Life is good. Sometimes you have to work at it, but that is good too!

LYNN

Sounds great to be able to take care of the grands. I know you and they will just love it.

Good luck with your group.

PEG

Glad you are doing and feeling so well. That's great.

All three of you seem to like many of the same reading subjects that I do.

I have a friend who is an author. She has 7 published novels. Her name is Nina Wright. She has written a series of 5 books about a character named Whiskey Mattimoe, the first book was "Whiskey on the Rocks". They are a bit like the Janet Evanovich series. She is working on the sixth book right now. Also has written two teen novels "Sensitive", and "Homefree". They are about troubled teens who have "extra" special skills. I enjoyed them even though I am far from a teenager.

Many of her books have been translated into foreign languages. I never realized until I have seen her go through this writing experience, that most people who have books published, make just about no money! It is her passion though.

Anyway, many libraries carry them, not sure about all parts of the country, but they are available on Amazon. They are all older by now, and they weren't expensive to begin with, I imagine you can pick them up pretty cheaply if your library does not have them. Think you can get at least some of them on ebooks as well.

If you want, take a look! I have loaned my copies to quite a few people and they have all enjoyed them as well.

Had a good day today.

Went to the gym, to do my aerobics. Talked to my trainer about working more in the gym than the pool as I feel I am gaining strength faster in the gym. He said that was fine, and then added 4 new strength training exercises to my aerobic routine. Boy, was I worn out when I left there!

Sore, tired, but all good.

Have a great weekend my friends

Hi all! I am feeling on top of the world right now. I have been focusing on looking at the bright side of all things lately and it feels great. I feel really athletic right now. I feel really "in love" w/ my cute hubs, my gkids, my DD's etc. When anyone starts to throw anything negative at me (their neg feelings around them) if I don't want to join their conversation I am just changing my focus to something else. I am not taking it in. Not even thinking bad about having to deflect the neg either. I know it sounds abit pollyannaish, but hey nothing wrong with looking through life w/rose colored glasses. It makes life feel alot more fun. I am going to try to keep up this perspective for awhile, I know sometimes it will be easy to fall back into the muck, but i now know the secret to getting a good perspective back. Count my blessings! Literally. Make a list of 10 when things start to feel not so good. Today I am on top of the world and loving it. Join me!

Hi All,

Sandi..............great news!! I hope the blood work gets straighten out too. That is so good of you to drive 90 miles to babysit. I am going to watch my 4 grand kids this summer on Wed and Thur. I am so excited. But I think 4 kids for 2 days is my limit. They are 13, 11, 8, and 3 years old. The 3 yr old says it camp grandma. Fortunately they live 4 blocks away.

I too have written down the author Daniel Silva. I read 3 books a week, every week and love mysteries and suspense novels. I am just finishing some Stuart Woods books. I got the name of another author...Ridley Pearson. I have some of his books and will read him next week. I also like Jeffery Deaver, John Sanford, James Patterson.

I am going to a community ed class tomorrow called "Overcoming your Carb Cravings". I'll let you know how it goes. Have a great weekend, Lynn

Hi, everybody,

I've had a great week food and exercise-wise. But...extra busy at work, no time to post or chat. Sorry to be absent. I tried to catch up on the thread today--skimmed it, anyway.

I notice there are lots of avid readers here. Me, too. I have a very heavy library habit--usually 2-3 books a week. My new favorite authors are Andrea Barrett (her best-known book is "The Voyage of the Narwhal" but she has two or three other good ones.) and Jennifer Haigh (I enjoyed "The Condition" and "Baker Towers"). But, mostly, I'm reading through the Seattle Public Library collection alphabetically, by subject. It's taken about 15 years to get from Acrobat to Chile.

The sun is shining here in Seattle, a very welcome change. Fred and I just returned from our daily walk, quite enjoyable.

Stay warm as you can! Hope you had a good day teaching.

I went to the gym and had a great workout. In addition to my aerobic routine, Carl added 4 new strength straining exercises. I am pretty worn out, but feels good!

Wishing you all a great weekend! Enjoy

Lois, thank for the info. I am going to look up that author right away! I have never heard of him. How I do love to read!

Eliza, yes I am in Tokyo. I am originally from Detroit, but moved here going on 27 years ago when I got married. I love it here. Right now it's sooooooo cold! And we have no central heating in our homes the way the Americans do. It has been 32 every morning, & that means nearly 32 in the house as well. We use little "space heaters" that heat up rooms, but they just don't compare to central heating!
Time to teach english. Today I have 2 adult students. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Thanks guys for the new author. I am writing his name down so I don't forget.

I have always been a huge reader. It has been kind of strange since I had my surgery. I could not read for quite a while after, and now it seems as though I have kind of lost the habit. This is very unusual in my life, and I am sure it will change back again. Just find it kind of odd.

Have a great day my friends

Michele, the new author I have discovered is Daniel Silva. Was told to read his first which is "Kill Artist", and I have been listening to another one on tape as I walk the halls trying to get my steps in. I am also reading "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese. This is a book for one of my book clubs and I am enjoying it very much, but it is not a mystery.

Happy Friday everyone,

We are having freezing fog and black iced streets this morning but temps will warm up later. Those who have been without power from the last storm are now back in their homes. Many went to motels to stay warm and it cost them a lot of money. I'm glad things are back to normal for them. We were fortunate that our power stayed on.

To you who have been dealing with health issues, it's good to hear you are on the mend. I read all the posts but trying to respond to all of you individually is mind boggling and takes too much time but I care about each and everyone of you.

Welcome to all who have recently joined our team. This is a great place to be.

Have a good weekend. My little visiting nurse will be here at noon. She is supposed to teach me something today, not sure what. The visits are part of her schooling and she gets credit to visit me. Lately she hasn't been able to come because of the weather. I'm not a very interesting candidate for her because I have no health problems and take no medications so we mostly just sit and talk for a couple hours. I think the visits will end when this semester is over. The schedule is supposed to be for 18 weeks, once a week and this is the second semester she has been visiting.

Good morning once again. Not sure what is in store for today. The weatherman said last night that we would have rain and possible snow mixed in later. We sure have been spoiled this winter with less snow and cold temps.

Going today to see my foot surgeon and have the dressing changed. It's been a week today since the surgery. I feel things are going along alright. Still won't be able to put pressure on the heel for another week and half. I'm getting pretty good with crutches. I wouldn't be saying that if I wasn't allowed to put pressure on the ball of that foot. I hope after I get rid of them again that I never have to use them again. I've been fortunate and never had a broken bone in my lifetime.

You all have a wonderful and blessed day today!

Have had a very quiet week and have been able to get a lot of reading done. Have been listening to a great book on tape as I am walking the halls. Have found a really fun mystery writer and really enjoying his writing. Gave blood today and scheduled again in March. Will volunteer at church tomorrow and, of course, coffee on Saturday. As you can tell I don't lead a very exciting life.

Sandi, what good news, and Eliza congratulations on your weight loss. I think I found it as I am really having a struggle to get the scale to go down.

Signing off for the evening and wishing well to all.

Sandi, what wonderful news!! Hope the blood work is good too.

You are such a trooper to get up so early to baby sit. Do you stay overnight or go home between your 2 days? I would be ready for a nap about the time I got there!! They are blessed! emoticon

Congrats Eliza !!!!!

Happy to report that the masses in my neck were benign. Now I have to make an appointment with an endocrinologist since something showed up in my blood work. I don't think it's anything I have to worry about - but I have found a good one in my insurance plan and will call tomorrow to make an appointment.

Had a wonderful time babysitting my little grandson Anthony today (even though I have to get up at 4:20 AM to drive 90 miles to my son's house so they get to work on time). He is so adorable. Hard to believe he will be 3 months old next week. Seems like only yesterday we were waiting for him. Can't wait for tomorrow to do it again. My days are Thurs. and Fri., the other grandma has the other 3 days (she lives 10 minutes away from them).

Call me Sandi !
