Boy you have a lot of prep work to do before having surgery. When are you having it btw?

I am having a pretty tough time emotionally right now. I have been up and down for the last 7 or 8 months or so anyway. This is just one of the really down times.

Received a piece of pottery today that I had bought on ebay, and was really looking forward to receiving. It is broken. The seller packed it without enough newspaper, so it was allowed to go from side to side and one end broke very badly. It is not as though they can send me a replacement piece. It was Brush Mccoy, so it was quite old, for those of you not familiar with Ohio pottery, assuming that is most of you. Very disappointed. Sent a note to the seller, all she can do is give me my money back, but I expect to be reimbursed for shipping as well. It was a really good price, so would have much rather had the item than a refund, but expect to be made whole since it was her bad packing that resulted in the breakage.

Will wait to see what she volunteers to do before I write a review. If she makes me whole, I will not give her a bad review, if not, then I will go to paypal and register a complaint.

See, even the little things are upsetting me!

Well, tomorrow babysitting all day, and then Friday my injection. Wish me luck!

God Bless

Bonnie

Had a really busy day. Took Mom to get her permanent and thenback to her house to pay bills. Luckily, my brother decided to take a ride (80 miles) to check on her and we discovered that her generator is leaking oil. He (they didn't listen to me - maybe because he's a man) was able to convince the company to come out to service the machine. We may have to replace it, but it's still running - she STILL has no power.

Then off to the bank to make sure both of us can write checks on her account to pay her bills. When I am in the hospital he will have to take over for an indefinite amount of time - so we set up online bill pay as well.

Then I came home and dealt with the case worker from my insurance company who will be handling my hospitalization and rehab. Luckily, the rehab I hope to go to is in-service so I should be able to get in as long as they have a bed.

Then I handled the cable TV company to troubleshoot some glitches in service since the power came back. We made the necessary adjustments by phone - although I was really uncomfortable crawling around on the floor following his instructions and had a really hard time getting back on my feet.

Tried to get a look on the Medicare site to see what the application looks like. I have an appointment for hubby to apply since he will be 65 in Oct. I want the transition from my insurance to be seamless and that will be one less thing on my mind while I recuperate. But I couldn't get to the form unless I applied online, so we'll just have to wait until our appointment tomorrow.

Went to the farm stand and got some fresh corn on the cob to go with dinner. Finished my chores and getting ready to cook.

To everyone - I may not mention your name today but you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Have a sparkling evening!

Hi everyone, posting early today. Played some great tennis this morning, than had lunch at the harbor. Our harbor is the cutest one on the west coast if you askme, it is very capecod cute. Love it, and the best part it is at the end of my street. We have a walkway to the parking lot. Today my gkids are back. Yeah, I love when they are here, they are with us 1/2 of the week. Ages 10 & 4. Tonight we are gonna get the keys to our condo and say goodbye to our renters. My DD is gonna move in. She is 23 and getting married the 25th, so this will be their place as a new married couple. It is in O'side also and the cutest lake is across the street. It is inland though about 5 mi in.

*Bonnie- it sounds like you are going through a tough emotional time right now, just realize it and be easy on yourself, relax and know things will eventually feel better.
* Kathy-(V) you always say the nicest things, thank you for commenting on all my blogs I love to see your smiling face.
* Wilson- Big hellos, you will catch up! Hope you are keeping up w/your nut/ex logs.
* Brenda- great idea for Lynn. I don't have a reg church and I could prob use some good ol spirituality feelings about now too.

To all those I didn't comment to: Just a reminder, I always read and write from my last posting. So big hellos to you all!

Lynn,

Sending hugs and prayers to you and your DH.

Even if you don't belong to a church yet, I think you could just go to one and talk to the Pastor and he would be more than happy to help you in this time of stress.

RW and Sandi

Happy Anniversary. Sandi you have something to work towards by seeing what Rw and Betty have done.

Thanks for the good thoughts.

I am really tired tonight. Just cannot take those narcotic pain meds. Last night and the night before, I have been awake about every twenty minutes all night long. Sunday, I thought it was stress and sadness from the funeral home. But last night, it may have been a bit of that, but it was the drugs affecting my sleep apnea.

Called today, and they gave me Celebrex, and that is helping. Guess I will not get addicted to pain killers, just can't stand them for all of the yucky side effects.

Think I will sleep well tonight, and get straightened. Don't have to get up early tomorrow, so that will help.

God Bless all of you and pray that he is holding you all close to him. I know he is.

Lynn, God Bless and better news prayers for you.

Hey sparkies, hope you are having a great day. I had a few really cool things happen today. First of all, i was going into the chevron this morn, driving my convertable w/the top down, and in a really good move, and ... when I went to pay a man walked up and said he would like to buy my soda, because I made his day w/my good attitude. woohoo,

Than I had a grt tennis lesson, well on the way home, I started my self crap talk about my DD's situtation, came home and decided to talk to my youngest about how I can cope w it all. I told her that I didn't want to live this situation out loud anymore and I am doing pretty good about it, but inside it still takes over, she gave me some good suggetions and I decided to get it out of our home.

, I want a home that my kids/ friends/family all feel good in. I shared my dream and hubs agreed. That gave me hope. than when my gson came home from school he came up to us on the porch and gave us big hugs and even played w/the dog abit. The first time he has acknowledged me since the split up when he is at his dads. awsome! Life is good today, I have to remember and make it that way, what I need to live out loud is that I love my fam. bunches. ~Maci~

RW - Happy anniversary! 54 years - WOW!!! My anniversary is this Saturday - 23 years - not even half as long as you.

Went to the hospital and completed all the pre-op testing. When I got home hubby had to go replace the ice cream we lost during Irene. I got some 100 calorie Klondike bars for myself.

Then we got an emergency call from my mom that her generator cut out (she still has no power). Lucky for her hubby (an electrical contractor) was able to solve the problem . All is well again.

Lynn - so sorry to hear about your husband. I am a breast cancer survivor - so I know it can be beat. I wish you success with the chemo.

Hi All,

The news is not good from here. The MRI showed 2 tumors on my dh's spine near his neck. They are cancer and they can't use radiation because he is at the limit from his cancer on his neck. They also found it in his lung and a few other places. Tomorrow he has a scope and biopsy of the lung and another MRI. We talked to the neurosurgeon and he will probably operate to remove the 2 tumors that are putting pressure on the nerves that are giving him pain. There is not cure he said. Tomorrow we will find out if it can be managed with chemo.

Thanks for your support. Since we have only lived here since last month we don't have a church yet and don't really know anyone. My dear friend from Mpls is flying here tonight to be with me. I am so glad. I know that all my sp friends are with me too. Lynn

Good Afternoon Team! Was out and about early this morning as I took my daughter to work. Made a split decision on my way home to walk around one of the beautiful lakes that we have here in Minneapolis. Well, I didn't make it all the way around, but went almost half way and then back to the car to collapse. It really felt good walking outside versus my halls, but always have that fear of falling when I am outside. I have started to take my cell phone with me when walking outside which does give me a measure of comfort.

Bonnie and Lynn, sending prayers and good vibes to you.

RW, happy anniversary and good luck on your surgery.

Mary, sure hope the AC kicks in. When I worked in the Osseo School District I can remember starting back to school late August to get ready for first day after Labor Day. Back then they didn't even consider AC. Hopefully that has changed, but I rather doubt it.

Here to having a great rest of the day and/or evening wherever you are

Hi all!

Sandi - so glad you are okay. In all the hullabaloo I almost forgot about your upcoming surgery. Thinking of you.

Mary - Gee, I hope you soon! How awful for you and the children!

Hope all of you are doin' fine. I can't believe the number of deaths linked to Irene. Very, very sad. Hang in there all of you who are dealing with the aftermath.

Keep up the good work towards health!

hi everyone,
Today is my 54th wedding anniversary emoticon

We took our wedding vows on August 30th, 1957 in a small church in Detroit Michigan and that was 54 yrs ago. Long term marriages like ours get stronger and stronger when we work out the impurities and meld into pure gold. Thats why I suppose it's called the "golden years"
Thanks everybody for your love and sharing in our lives.

PS: the biopsy report was posivive for basil-cell, and Thursday I'll have it removed , she does the MOHS surgery procedure.

Clean up after Irene has begun. Luckily, we have only minor damage - but Long Island as a whole did not do well. There are still hundreds of thousands without power. We were very lucky.

Going to the hospital for pre-op tests this afternoon. Will check in later.

My favorite color is any light shade of blue w/white trim. I will be parking my car (it's a darker blue) up the hill so it should be safe from the spray because the painter's back will be facing my car. It will be far enough away that if the wind does blow that direction, it will be dissapated by the time it gets near my car. Or I could just drive it down to Rite Aid and use their lot for a few hours. I will wait and see what I need to do.

Our building was power washed yesterday and now all our clean windows are all spotted. They should have waited to have the windows washed until after the painting is finished. I will ask our manager if we can get the windows washed again. She is gone to Vegas on vacation since last Wednesday and will return to work this Thursday. One of the ladies asked me if they were going to wipe the spots off her window. I told her they aren't going to for now. Water spots on my windows are the least of my worries compared to all the grief people are going through with Irene.

Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about your husbands' illness. Please keep us posted as you can. We are all here for you.

I am glad to see members back on line now and that everyone is safe. My spark friend in NJ never lost power or anything. There is a new lake down the street from her house. She has been helping neighbors clean up.

We had a craft class yesterday and made coasters out of ceramic tiles. It was a fun thing to do although I didn't like the fumes from the Mod Podge glue.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

thank goodness those who are on this team are OK. what a mess it continues to be, and I am hoping that the cleanup is fast and easier than it looks.

Big hellos to: Mel, Moby, NJ, Bonnie, Rosie, Nina, Lois, Lynn, Mary, Sandi glad you are all ok.

*Brenda what color do you wish they were painting, I notice that I am very attracted to cape cod blue homes w/white trim, (Mine is painted that way) What is your fav home color? Make sure your car is going against the wind for overblow.

*Kathy's (MD)& (V) - both of you had quite a shake up! w/all the wind everywhere, great job on the wkouts. They had to take most the freeway trees out of our area, one yr we had high winds and tons blew over.

Today our new tenants moved some of their things in. and we got the bill pay bank stuff done. I am crossing my fingers that they are good tenants. The women kept telling me all day how broke she is, i am just hoping for the best. My gkids went back to Dads home yesterday in the afternoon so all is calm here, almost erie calm. I saw my gdaughter riding her bike to pick up my gson from the bus stop she looked so cute. I have to remember to count my blessings. I am to Blessed to be stressed!

Lynn, I sent you a SparkMail message. Prayers for both of you.

Brenda, they say the AC's been fixed. It's not! It's hot! The kids lay their heads down on the desk and sweat drips off them. I have the parents coming for a Coffee tomorrow. I'm sure someone will be taken aback and will comment...the admins are trying to get it fixed but it's something with the duct work, I think. They put in a brand new unit.

I hope the flood victims and all the good people helping out will be fine eventually. We were without power for 13 days after Ike. It was NOT fun!

I will do my strength training today and get back into a good routine!

Thankfully Irene has past, but how sad for all the flooding and damages left. Prayers for all especially those who lost loved ones. In looking at all the pictures posted, it is frightening to see what the power of water and wind can do. As a child with my parents we experienced being involved with flash flooding and will never forget it sights and sounds.

Special thanks needs to go out to all who will be helping with the recovery..

Kathy-I had read about the 11 year old that was killed-it was so sad to read about it! The picture of the tunnel completely immersed in water is amazing!! I took a picture of a tree that was uprooted near my house, with my cell phone yesterday. I'll have to post it later tonight.

We weathered the storm ok; no damage. We lost power at our house Saturday 10:30 am and no date has been given on when it will be restored. 50% of the area is without power. I'm posting on lunch break at work. It wasn't the usual quiet morning while out running this morning; it was the throttling sound of generators scattered throughout the neighborhood.

Visit my Sparkpage to see a couple pics. The Newport News pic is of a tree that landed on an apartment building killing an 11 year old boy, one of a handful of deaths in our area. One of the Norfolk pics is of an entrance to a tunnel. The only way in and out of my city is via bridges connected to tunnels. The tunnel shown in this pic is obviously not passable. Hampton Roads consists of several cities: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, and Newport News.

Has anyone heard from Sandi in Southampton, NY? Hurricane Irene was downgraded to Tropical Storm Irene by the time it got to NY. But googling that location shows that it is on the water.

Hi all-Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. We weathered the storm ok! Lots of small branches and leaves in our yard to clean up. Many folks in our town are without electricity. We were lucky not to lose ours! About a mile down the road from us, it was obvious a huge gust of wind blew through there because three trees were uprooted! Fortunately, none of them landed on anyone's home or car. I managed to go to the gym yesterday and get in my ST and aerobics: running and stair climbing. On Saturday, I stayed home and did ST. Good weekend of working out! Will either do a run outside or go to the gym after work to do my aerobics-not sure which I'll do.

Happy Monday!

I've heard from my spark friend in NJ twice now so she and her family are fine. Her neighbor across the street is without power this morning so she took them some coffee. She posted pictures of the flooding near her house but it doesn't look too bad like pictures I've seen of other places.

Bonnie, I am very sorry to hear about your friends' daughter's death. She is lucky to have a friend like you to be there for her after everyone else has gone home. Be sure you take care of yourself so you can continue to help others.

Lois, I hope the therapy helps. I am like you in not having shots or surgery.

Mary from TX, it is good to see you posting again. Wow, how do you cope with no AC in your classroom? That is just too hot. Yes, I would be carrying around a spray bottle filled with water to keep somewhat cool.

Our building is going to be power washed today in preparation to start painting the outside starting Sept 1st. It is white with aqua trim but they will be painting it darker (like olive green and browns) so I think it will look somewhat like camoflage (I don't know how to spell it). Some of the ladies here are not too happy about it but they will get over it. They will be spray painting so our cars will have to be moved when they start on the front. I will move my car to the road at the top of the hill behind our building so I will be able to watch it from my living room. Not too many here have cars. The gardner's were here the other day cleaning out the flower beds, cut one renegade tree down and trimmed bushes and the trees on the parking strip. It looks much nicer now.

Still sending prayers to those in the East now dealing with the flooding and other problems from Irene.

MACI

Hope you enjoyed your lazy day! We all need one on occasion. When it is nice, I always spend some of my day on the back deck in my jammies. Love to be in the sun. Always makes me feel better. I live in the city, so our homes are close, but I have very small holed
latticework on both sides of the deck, and there are trees in back. Feels very private

My friend Barbara and I have been friends, since I was 21 and she was 31. She worked at a tomato cannery, so in the summer, she worked 12 hour days. I spent a lot of those days with her 5 children. The boys all told me yesterday that they had passed one of the pools that we used to go to.

Sheila, her daughter, was 10 years younger than I am. She was 52. She has 2 children and one grandchild. She had a heart attack. She had lupus, but that was as under control as it can be, so no one was expecting her to pass. We are all comforting ourselves and each other with the fact that she is no longer in pain and poor health.

Barb met Addie when she changed jobs, and then the three of us became very close and did lots of things together, families and all.

Barb told me that Addie and I both said the same thing when she told us, that this is what happens when you lose touch with people you love. Had not seen Sheila for a year or so.

God will take care of her now, and my prayers are with the rest of them. The boys were pretty upset last night. Their only sister.

Prayers still for those suffering from flooding and the aftermath of Irene.

God Bless you all my friends

Bonnie

Maci - Sure we can have a regular JEMS! If the mods don't make it a sticky thread, just start one called September JEMS. As long as somebody posts every day, it will stay visible. If I don't see a thread like that on 9/1, I'll probably start one myself. Then those of us who have benefitted from JEMS can keep doing it, and the people who need variety can have whatever the September challenge turns out to be.

Bonnie I don't know how i missed that one about your friends daughter. I saw you were going to a funeral but I had no idea it was for someone w/kids. and a friend of yours DD. How many kids does she have? ages? How old was she? How did she pass? It is so sad when someone who is in the prime of life goes so young. It must of been really sad to go to the funeral, that is so nice of you two to commit to her. I have a girl on our team whos son is 27 and has terminal cancer and I keep letting her know I am here for her, but she isn't reaching out to anyone, so if that happens don't take it to hard. The ways I am showing her I am thinking of her is by dropping off potted plants w/msgs saying "Just thinking of you today" or sending her cards. wow, sorry to hear your story. Addie is my gdaughters name, I love it. ~Maci~

I am not sure if this was the team that asked for sept suggestions but I have one... I just read a blog that was called "Life is good" and it had on it 10 reasons while life was good that day. Ex. "Life is good " Day #1- we can go for trying to fit in all 31 days? I have found what you dwell on grows. Gratitude grows.

Another suggestion is coming up with daily ideas to make your life better! Right now I am doing a challenge called, simplify, simplify, simplify! and I choose 3 things a day, one is a physical challenge. (exercise) one is an enviromental change (clean/organize something) one is a good mental thing (jacuzzi, warm bath, read, etc) Its been challenging but I have done it all this wk. definately a great challenge.

I really liked doing the Jems w/you all, I was doing it alone before we all started, I was wondering did it work for any of you? Do you think we can make it a reg thing if others liked it? This is my main team and I love doing my dailys on it.

Tired and hungry so typing instead of raiding the fridge tonight, just got home from an hr walk at our local boat harbor at the end of the street. Hope you all start the wk off right!

Just throwing out some ideas , let me know if any sound fun or interesting. Please send in your own too.

Hello everyone! So glad to hear good reports coming in from all of you in the northeast.

Founder - so sorry to hear about your friend's loss of her daughter. Her comment was extremely heartbreaking especially since I am close to my own daughter. I'm glad you can be there for her.

RW, we have set new record temps here in Gainesville -- the last time we had temps this hot was in the late 1950's. However, we have actually had a fairly strong breeze here the last few days -- like being on the beach!

Maci - I'll pass on the RN experience info. to my DD.

It's late and I'm headed to bed. Nite all!

Hi Ladies: Catch up!
* Brenda- it's always crazy how the surfers run to the water when everyone else is running away, I see it here too. I think I saw the same guy on CNN he was crazier than any of the other reporters, When he said he was being sand blasted he wasn't lying. ouch!
* MN- hope you enjoyed all your company today!
* Bonnie- I save cals for big events too! Thats' the best thing about logging in cals. Hopefully they will come out w/the perfect pain pill for you soon!
* Nina- Grrr I hate it when my posts disappear! Your DD sounds like she has lots of exper. My DD says the secret is to keep your first RN job for at least 2 yrs than you are considered a seasoned RN and am in high demand.
* Lois- Enjoy your PJ day! Those are my fav's sometimes. I love being outside too! I always sit on the patio when I go to restaurants etc. My DD loves to cross stich, knitt, etc. I am so happy she has that passion.
* Kathy (ND) Glad to hear Irene calmed down a bit before it hit. Thanks for the update.
* RW- Beach = spirituality and sun. Love it, one of my fav things to do is to put a beach rock to my head and put all my troubles in it and throw it in the ocean. It works! try it.
* Mary- DD sounds like she is on the perfect soccer team. what did you do w/your surprise zucinni, my DD likes to cut them up spray them w/olive oil and BBQ.
* NJ- Plan for the worse, hope for the best! Thats a good life motto! yeah the winds died down.
* Mary (TX)- No AC and 105 degrees, wow, that's extreme. Phew! bring a water bottle to mist yourself with that helps. We use them for tennis matches sometimes.

Today just chillin, watchin TV, and getting ready to walk to the harbor/beach. Hoping my w/i goes well, alittle scared that I wasn't completly 100% on track this wk, but hey what can I do now. Main thing is that I am still sparkin and doing my commitments each day. Happy Monday all!

I say yum as well! Hope it was a good day.

MARY

Thanks for your concern. It was a very emotionally draining evening. Saw Barb, her 4 sons, Sheila's children, and grandchildren, and our mutual friend Addie. Some other people I have not seen for a lot of years. We have been out of touch for awhile, but Addie and I have made a pact to be there for Barb after all of the formalities are over. I know she has a strong support system within her church and family, but she always spent so much time with Sheila, that it is going to be very tough.

I came very close to losing it when someone ask Barb a question, and she answered, with a smile on her face that "I only had one daughter". It is going to be so tough for her, my heart is breaking. So many people, and she was being so brave and strong.

Very, very sad.

God Bless my friends, and once again, thanks for being here for me.

Sorry you have a funeral to go to, Bonnie but I'm glad you have other nice things to do today.

Cinnamon rolls and 7 layer salad...yum! I hope it's a fun occasion for you.

I went to the grocery store after church and got a call from my teaching partner. We have Parent's Coffee on Tuesday so we went up to school to work in our rooms. My AC hasn't been working even with a brand new unit---and it was HOT! I hope it gets fixed for real very soon! Since I worked on school stuff I need to do my WATP dvd tonight.

Good luck with your school year. You are a very important person as a teacher, glad to see you love your class.

LOIS

Hope that the therapy will help you get better soon.

Went to breakfast with Laura and Derek this morning had a nice visit.

Will be going to the funeral home at 5:00pm, so guess I will sit on the porch and read the paper until then.

So glad to hear the hurricane lessened. Hoping that all of you are ok.

I know I haven't checked in here all month---once I get back into 'school mode' my life isn't my own! I have a great little class and I'm hoping for another successful year. My AC in my classroom isn't working right and it's been 105 this past week...I want it cool!!

I'm so glad to see that Irene hasn't been too much of a threat to y'all. Having lived through many Texas hurricanes, it's not something to mess with!

Have a great rest of the weekend,

Quiet Sunday - here it is noon and I'm still not out of my sleeping attire. Watching news about Irene and thankful that it did weaken, but the flooding isn't good. Have to get to the library today as I won't have a car for the next couple of days. Long story, grandson needs his mother's car and as a result daughter needs my car.

Bonnie, it it the basal joint on my left thumb - the cartilage is gone and so it is bone on bone. Thankfully it is my left hand and hopefully with therapy I can avoid shots and/or surgery. When I met with the Ortho Hand I told them it has to get much worse before it go the route of surgery and/or shots.

Mary, congrats to the soccer team. I can't believe they went into Lake Superior - the temp is in the 40's. Twins - hope they get their act back together. This season is probably lost, but hopefully next year will be better. Haven't been to the new stadium, but hear that it is pretty nice.

RW, enjoy the beach. Whenever I visited my friend in Florida, that was one of my favorite places to go. Watching the surf and collecting shells and just plain enjoying. The friends are gone now, but what wonderful memories we had together.

Keep safe and take care of yourselves everyone. .

Well - Irene did less damage to the state of NJ than originally thought ---- but we planned for the worse and hoped for the best and thats how it worked out.
Lots of heavy rain = and some severe flooding...................... but not lots of storm damage.

everyone be safe and take care emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone,

Looking forward to hearing from our friends on the east coast that everyone is safe!

DD's soccer team came home from Duluth with a championship win! They had to go into a shootout to do it but a great way to start out the season. When I asked if they had had fun she said yes and "we bonded". That's good because a lot of the girls have never played togethr before and didn't know each other. They all went into Lake Superior yesterday morning. She said it was just a little cold.

DH, DS and I went to the Twins baseball game. We first met at my BIL's house for lunch and to celebrate DH's mom's bday. I think she is 86 or so but still continues to do great. The Twins lost (again!) but it was still fun. It was a great day to sit outside and watch the game.

Today the neighborhood has their summer picnic. Trying to figure out what to take yet. A zucchini magically appeared on my counter one day. I need to ask DD where it came from as no one else knows. So I'm trying to find a recipe to do something with that.

Enjoy your day!

Thanks I am hanging in there! I just left part of my family, and did tell them that I love them.

LOIS

Have you had any therapy for your hands? I had bilateral carpel tunnel syndrome, finally had to have surgery because it was work related. However, I am able to crochet once again.

However, long before having surgery, I was going to a hand surgeon, he was the best in Toledo at the time, and He would give me steroid injections in my wrist which helped a lot. Think that had I not been working still, I would not have had to have surgery. Not sure just what your issue is, so not sure if it will help you or not. Just a thought.

The pain pill I took this morning, made my day much easier. I am due to take another, which I will do when I am done here. Dr says I can take 3 a day, but I am pretty sure that 2 a day will be plenty.

KATHY

Prayers for you and your to be safe. God Bless all of you in the path of this storm.

God Bless the rest of you as well.

Here's the message from our Public Safety service sent out at 4:40:

Conditions are beginning to deteriorate in Bowie. Some wind gusts of up to 40 mph have been reported locally. The storm is moving slowly so we will have several hours of rain and increasing wind speeds as the evening progresses.

The winds are kicking up some; we can hear and see it; a bit unnerving but I think we'll be ok. DH and I are staying awake to watch to be sure no trees are threatening to uproot and causes damage/danger to us.

Good Afternoon to the team. Have been watching the TV coverage of Irene and cannot even imagine how all our friends on the east coast must be feeling. Stay safe and be smart.

Marci, love your granddaughter story and so true.

Regular Saturday morning coffee this morning which continued on into the afternoon. Our of the gals played hostess. It was a beautiful morning and we were outside the whole time. The rest of the day is to do a little reading, and walking. I have been trying to do a little knitting, but have to take a lot of breaks because of my hand. I have a prayer shawl about 1/4 done and when that is finished I will probably take a break from knitting. This will be difficult as I have been knitting since I was a little girl and it has been one of my passions. Of course, I realize that is probably why I am having this hand problem.

Enough for now - stay safe - be smart and tell someone you love them.

Hello to everyone! (I just lost everything I already wrote and am starting again!) Just watching Irene coverage and taking it easy. All of you in her path, I hope you have taken precautions!

Kathyov and Sandi - stay safe! I hope you keep electricity. It's a good thing that you have gone to get your mother, Sandi.

RW - hope your biopsy is negative!!!

Maci - so enjoyed your funny story about your granddaughter! I think we just now have more time to deal with those little things in life that makes the difference in our reactions AND after all, they are someone else's kids. Interesting that your DD is a RN in the ER -- that is exactly what my daughter wants to do! She is about to finish her contract with the Army Reserves, so she's been through medic training and she is an LPN until she takes the NCLEX and gets her RN license.

MN - have a great time with family!!!

Bonnie - hang in there!

Take care everyone!
Nina

Together is better!
