Hi All:

I see the dentist for a cleaning today And have a picnic by HUD right after.

I did run into Andy here at McDs this morning and he is recovering from back surgery. He had major problems and they fused several of his disks. Then he got blood clots and is on oxygen now. What a mess. He is about 45 and a minister with three children and two churches. Wonderful man.

Hoping all is well with all of you and your families.

So many of the people in my life now keep getting medical problems. eye, heart, lungs, back. It is distressing. I hope we stay clear for the next 20 years or so.

I rewrote the Hotdogs in my Rice Bowl recipe and will try again. I also came up with a draft Sushi in my Rice Pot recipe which seems a winner. Basically it is sushi without the nori wrap and using warm rice and meats with fresh vegees in a bowl.

Another idea is Reuben in My Rice Pot. Not worked out yet. Leave out the bread and use rice instead with other ingredients in there. It sort of goes with my transferring favorite recipes into the rice pot format. Using rice instead of other grains.

I know vegan. I am also working on the calorie issue. I have gained 5 pounds when I was not expecting it. I ate a lot less fast food, so heck. Need to come up with calories per serving etc... and figure out what to eat to lose weight. Stay the same is 2500 a day for men. More if you are fat. Thats me. They say if I limit to 2000 a day I lose one pound a week. Maybe more for me too.

Just thinking. Since my rice pot recipes are all in one bowl then a serving size of 700 calories each meal would be about right.

enjoy the rest of your time with your brother. If a separate relationship works for them, who are we to judge? Where is the "book" on the rules of marriage & a successful relationship, may I ask?

BRENDA
you are good to take care of your teeth. I have mine cleaned only 2x/ a year; mom has hers done 4x/ a year as well.

That is great about your rent & yes! I can understand

I had a good tone chime practice One of the pro. teachers, Nakayama san said I am getting good. It is due to Amaya's piano lessons----Junko, former piano teacher has nothing to do with it. She was actually wrong this morning where I was right, but I had to keep my mouth shut b/c she is my elder.

Off to teach English!

I understood your explanation.

Had a nice visit with my brother. He is leaving in the morning to return to Houston.

My sister in law has actually taken a job as the head of the nursing program at a small college about an hour away from here. I did not think she would stay retired long. LOL

I am tired, but had a good day.

God BLess all.

Michele, I am going to have my teeth cleaned the 29th at noon. I have them cleaned four times a year. I need one more crown but I cannot get it until I have the money saved up. I have about half of it right now. So it will probably be in October near as I can figure. want to get it done before the end of the year. My rent will be a whole lot cheaper next year. I am paying $170 a month right now because I did not have any medical to pay last year. I paid $111 a month after I had all that other work done. My year goes from June to June because that is the month I moved in here 8 years ago. So next June my rent will go down. I am probably confusing everyone. It is hard for me to explain their program.

Glad to know you will have at least a few good days. Enjoy.

I decided to NOT ride my bike today. I was going to do it, and decided that I should take a day off.

I went to the store, and walked around the aisles for about 15 minutes. I do believe in mixing it up a bit.

MICHELE

Good luck with your concert. I am with BRENDA, wish we could come and enjoy it.

DORIS

Enjoy your party.

I went to the cheap fruit and veggies store. I think what they do is buy stuff that is just ready to become overripe. I bought 3 pints of raspberries for 50 cents each, a very small watermelon for 50 cents and a cantaloupe for 50 cents. I ate one pint of the raspberries. I will probably put the other two in the freezer, because they will go bad quite soon. The melons should be ok though.

Going to my mom and dad's later. Dad has some more peaches for me from the Orchard. My brother is coming over for a bit. He is going back to Houston tonight or tomorrow.

God Bless all

Marielle, you are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. How many more treatments do you need? I am glad you are feeling better today. Yes, use the honey. It cannot hurt you and as long as it makes you happy. go for it.

It was just before 7 last night when my mouth quit hurting. I took my sign off my door just before 7 so Patti came in to check on me and we watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Then Joice called asking me to come to her apartment. Her caregiver's help her to bed just before they leave around 6. She cannot get into bed by herself. The girl forgot to give her one of her pills sitting on a little table across the room. So I went down the hall and got it for her and visited with her and her dog (Stitches) for a little while.

Then my dentist called to see how I was. He always does when it is a difficult procedure.

I stayed up until 11 watching a movie and I did sleep good only waking up at 5 and able to go back to sleep until 8:30. My knee also feels a lot better too so things are looking up so far today.

No plans today so far.

Have a good day everyone. I will be back later.

It is going to be around 87 today and no rain. I guess the rain will come tomorrow when Patti and I go to the food bank.

Michele, I wish I could be in the audience for your performance.

Marielle, go for it!! At this stage of the chemo, you're fortunate to have something that gives you energy and tastes good. I would have all I wanted and hope it energized me!! So glad you're feeling some better.

Today is DD's 59th birthday so we're frying fish for dinner tonight. DH has a cooker that he will use outdoors. That keeps much of the mess and all the smell outdoors. Instead of a birthday cake, I stopped at Cuppie Cakes this morning and bought some really fancy cup cakes. This place makes really good ones. And in the end, we won't have leftover cake to tempt me!!

Morning all, Thank you for the prayers and thoughts. I finished the chicken I bought at Costco (one of the roasted ones). I am having English Breakfast tea this morning with sugar. I had stopped using honey & sugar with my tea but started again-think I need it for energy. I'm going to get some honey and just give in to that little"splurge" as it tastes good and makes me happy.

Have the tiny ants again........ It is supposed to be sunny with a few clouds over the next few days. A whopping 15% chance of rain. emoticon

Take care all. I am feeling better again. Of course labs on Friday and chemo on next Tuesday.

Love and light.

Doris and Eliza, thanks for the thoughts. I am still struggling. Stomach and intestinal cramps. I had crackers for dinner tonight. I got another slush today-this one is limeade. They seem to help with hydrating. I can just spoon out small pieces and suck on them-keeps my mouth wet and cool.

Well, it has been a great but tiring day.

Rode my stationary bike for 66 minutes this morning. On "fast" days, I generally ride about 14.5 miles. Today was a little bit slower and I only rode about 14.1 mile. I'll take it. LOL

Then this afternoon Amy and I went to the outdoor pool and spent a good hour in the pool and then laid in the sun for probably another hour. I was so parched that I left her and got dressed and into my car so I could drink the water I had there. I have this wonderful 36 oz insulated cup that I filled with ice and water before I left home, and it was good a cold. Ahhh. I drank it all. LOL

By the time she came out of the pool I was hydrated. We went and had Tai food for dinner and now I am full and tired.

God Bless all

I have my new crown and am having a little pain because I did not want another shot of Novocaine.but the pain will stop in a little while. I have the paper work for my last crown and it will be $1660 if it needs a crown build up but if it doesn't it will be $500 less. I am hoping for the latter. I have to save up more money before I can get that one done.

I have my Do Not Disturb sign on my door and it is locked. I will not answer it.

When I turned my laptop back on Gmail would not accept my password. I don't know what happened but after a few tries I was able to change my password and get back on here. I thought I was going to have to use my Kindle but I don't like to use it for chatting because it takes too long to write anything.

I will be back later on when maybe I will be back to normal.

Just a quick note right now.

Rode my stationary bike already, and am meeting Amy at the pool at 3:30pm. It will be an outside swim day. The pool will close for the year on the 2nd of Sept. So, going to enjoy it for a while yet

Yes, we should get a new elevator but Trump has cut a lot of the HUD funds and there is not a lot of money available. There will not be anymore low income HUD building's like we have here. We are lucky to have what we do have. Our sister house, Blanchet, lost their water boiler and had to buy a new one for $10.000 so all those people were out of hot water for about a week. I am just so tired of hearing the nasty things people here are saying about the new management. Nothing is going to change for the better. They say they are gong to move. Well. more power to them because there are no more places to move to. If there is an opening there is a year or two wait for someone to die. Yes, the new rules are a real irritation and it does no good to rant and rave about them. There are a lot of retirement homes but the rent is very high. Our rent is 30% of our monthly income. I am paying $170 now because I did not have the high dental bills last year. Next year my rent will go down again because of all the work I am having done.

Waling around the fair grounds and having to walk up and down our stairs so much did a number on my knee but this morning the swelling is finally down and t barely hurts.

I put a note on my door before I went to bed saying "No coffee this morning because I am going to the dentist" That is for Patti. My appointment is at 11 to get my new crown. I need a couple hours to get my body moving in the mornings. I like to get up and make a cup of coffee and read and reply to my posts and just enjoy my solitude. I usually do not make appointments until noon but this one will be a short one.

Yes, Michele, my brother and I were very close because we always took care of each other, Mom was not home very much. We learned to cook together. Periodically he would be sent to California to visit his dad and then I would be alone. He passed in 2003. I kept in touch with his wife but then the letter's stopped coming so that meant she died. There was no one to tell me. They had a son but he was killed in Los Vegas one dark night when an 18 year old girl ran over him as he was crossing the street. He lived and worked in Vegas. I never got to meet him but he was not very old when he died. The girl was never charged because it was a dark, rainy night and with all the bright Vegas lights, she just did not see him. She was Vietnamese. The date was December 7th (year in the early 2000's) Pearl Harbor Day. I have most of the letter's and pictures my brother sent me and among them I could find out the year of his son's death.

Ok, I am writing a book again so will close for now. I hope you all have a good day. I plan to. The sun is out and it will only get to about 77 with a 20% chance of rain today.

Hi All:

No one has locked my door since the day I put my camera up. It is not turned on but sits in the window. It looks like it is wworking. lol.

I am going to try walking again today but stay in the grass where I can and see how that goes. The pain in my lower legs seems to have subsided. I have five one mile paths laid out from my house but I am not sure how much grass is avalble. I will try each.

Today is "Hotdogs in Rice Pot Heaven". Okay hot dogs are not so healthy but it is a once in a while thing. hotdogs, chili sauce, onion, g pepper, rice, chilibeans, sweet corn. ...

Good Monday, my friends! I have line dancing and my annual physical with a fasting blood draw this afternoon so I'm only having black coffee until that happens! I'm not eagerly anticipating the weigh in. I've put on a lot of wwight this past year and I hope to get a good 'talking to' to make me get back on track. Ugh! Yes, my daughter and I had a great time with all the girls at the park. This one is only a couple of miles from my house. There are 2 parks across from each other. There was a Ninja junior Warrior obsticle course with many surrounding playgrounds so there was something for everyone. Emmaline, at 2.5, wanted to do whatever the twins did! We drove through Chick Fil A afterwards and the girls watched Mickey Mouse until Emmalise started rubbing her eyes!

Eliza, I'm sorry your mom seems to be 'shutting down' at times. The comments everyone has already made are right on...I hope whatever 'life' she has left will be peaceful and that you will know you are doing everything you can as a good daughter to give her the help she needs!

John, you are so industrious with fixing your car and cooking! I hope gradual exercise will help you feel better...doing too much at once can push you back a ways. Any info on the person locking your door? I hope that's over!

Michele, I've not heard you speak of Tad's brother/family before, I don't think. It's nice to have family visits! I didn't know Buddhist priests married!

Doris, it's wise to consider selling the 'old homestead; now rather than later. When my parents went into assisted living/memory care, followed by my mother in law in the next couple of years, we were able to get both houses and property sold. I know it would have been a hard thing for me to do it on my own along iwth my sistrs/ sister in law without my husband's knowledge. The less we have to worry about as we get older, the better, on things like that! I'm glad you were able to walk the property, though. Congrats on your wonderful loss! I am a carb person, unfortunately!

Bonnie, you're so sweet with your parents. I hope they will continue to be active and in good health overall. Getting the little stool out of the way was a cute story! Enjoy the visit with your brother and SIL...I'm sure your temps are much better than what they have recently experienced in Houston/Galveston!

Brenda. it's a shame that the elevator isn't just replaced rather than bandaid 'fixed' since it malfunctions so often. I would be leery of it, too. It's not safe for those who absolutely can't take the stairs. I hope something can be figured out. Here, at many/most apartment complexes, people take grocery carts home unless they have sensors that keep them from leaving the parking lot. Someone makes the rounds monthly to retrieve them. They do belong to the stores! Having your own cart is a good thing and you know where it is!

My Red Hat group will go to the newly renovated Holocaust museum tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a very moving experience.

Mary
Pearland, TX.

All in good time...and with the help of my friends.

Today: I pray to shift the way I approach life, to move deliberately and consciously, to become attentive.

Well happy birthday to your mom in Heaven She is 9 years older than dad; he was 89 in Heaven on July 22nd, the same birthday as Prince Louis? the oldest child of Kate & William.

When did your brother die? I'm so sorry that you miss him so. I too, miss dad terribly. I can't wait to join him in Heaven one day.....

your advice is so golden to me! Like Bonnie's. I walked away from Tad before when he was de-stressing. I should have yes, indeed done it again yesterday. I try too hard to "fix" things that can not be fixed. I can not control what I can't control.

When you go to your dentist appt, I will be getting up on Tuesday morning just a bout that time---3:30 a.m. I don't sleep well in the humidity & heat

I am going to sew a button on Tad's shorts & then go to the ¥100 yen shop; like the dollar store. I like their yogurt & will buy a few containers.

Today my mom would have turned 98. I really don't miss her, never really did. We did have some good times but they were few and far between in her short life time. She died at 37.

I really miss my brother. He died at suddenly 63 of a crushed brain stem and no one knew how it happened. We never saw each other very much but we wrote letters back and forth all the time and he called me about every Sunday. He lived in Buckeye AZ.

Oh well, that is all water under the bridge and i don't dwell on it.

I thought my dentist appointment was Tuesday to get my permanent crown but it is tomorrow morning.at 11.

Michele, I am glad you are in a better frame of mind now. We cannot control how other's act. The best thing is to walk away and leave them talking to themselves. That is what I do.

I have stayed home all day, Patti has come in a couple times to tell me what is going on.downstairs but I really don't care what they are complaining about.

I will check in tomorrow and maybe have more to say. emoticon

I had to come back and tell you one last thing You reminded me of how my best friend's dad when I was in high school would say to us. " You girls are not scared of hard work, ... you could lay right down next to it and fall asleep" LOL Just a bit of levity

It is difficult to live with another person, especially one you are in a relationship with. I have done it in past years, and am really not good at it.

Even living with someone as a roommate can be trying. When they have a lot of stress, it always seems to permeate the house.

I do my best to keep myself going, but Trish has a lot of responsibility with her son who lives with us.

He is emotionally handicapped, and cannot work, he never even leaves the house. He doesn't even come downstairs, so I don't see him at all. She is financially responsible for him as well. She is having a tough time right now, and she does not take it out on me, but when someone else is stressed, it can spill over. So, in a way, I can understand some of what you are going through.

I do my best to be supportive if I can, and then I have to get on with my own life. Easier for me, of course, but I can sympathize with you a bit. God Bless, Honey.

I love dillards----I bought my red peacoat, which I still have in '97 there.
You & I----well we will just have to work, won't we?
At least your DS is still at home. My kids are all gone. The 1 that is left here is clueless & The other 2 are far away.

Eliza, so glad your DH made it home safely. And continue to care for your mom, in spite of what she's saying!!

Hope you have fun biking, Bonnie!!

I have about an hour before I go to hear a young woman talk about the work she has done to help abused women and children. Should be interesting.

Glad your DH is home safely. I am sure that is a worry for you.

DORIS

I am enjoying my "bike riding" so much. It is making me feel so good. I have also lost a couple of pounds.

BRENDA

Hoping that the latest adjustment to the elevator will take care of the problem. Sigh.

MICHELE

I too am hoping that you can find a friend to spend some time with and have some joy in your life.

So sorry that Tad has such issues. Prayers for peace for both of you.

Going to ride my bike now.

God Bless all

Michele, so sorry that you're feeling so alone. With Tad being as he is, I'm just wondering if he takes any meds that would have abusiveness as a side effect. There is a med in the US called gabapentin that is used for neuropathy, and our doctor friend says it is a bad one for the side effects such as Tad's behavior. And yes, stress can produce those results too. So sorry, but never accept abusiveness as "just a bad mood". Hang in there. We care!

Brenda, glad the elevator is working. Hope it continues!

Bonnie, what fun plans. Hang in there with your exercise. You're doing great. And you really are blessed with the family you have! I have been also.

Marielle, here's hoping you're feeling some better by now. Hope you've managed to stay hydrated and out of the hospital. Prayers continue for you.

Mary, did you enjoy having all the girls this past week? Sounded like a fun time, if the weather wasn't too hot to enjoy being out of doors.

John, you are getting the most out of that rice cooker!! I like rice, but not every day!! Hope your blood sugar can handle all those carbs. Do you take shots of insulin?

Time for me to get ready for church. Hope it's a great day of rest for all!!

Our elevator is now fixed. The repair man was three hours away near Bremerton. He was able to fix it and told us what he found. The elevator uses 78 volts of electricity to make it go up and down. It was set at 80 volts so that should not have turned it off. So the guy set it to 88 volts so that should fix it. He talked to Katrina on the phone and told her what he did and he found out the name of our regular guy. It is a friend of his so he is going to call him and tell him what he did. The guy who was here yesterday did not write down what he did. That was a no no. Anyway, we shall see how it goes and if it keeps working. If it breaks again they will have to order another part.

Michele, I am sorry you are so sad, I hope you can find a friend or two at your morning meetings. It is hard not having anyone to talk to but we are all here for you.

It is going on 10 so I am off to bed. Good night everyone. emoticon

God is not going to pay my electricity bill if Tad dies, & ben will forget that I'm here. If I can't pay my electric, I won't be able to use my phone, computer etc I think about these things a lot.
I won't be able to take a train to church b/c I won't have access to the $ that is available for me.

I am sorry that your mom said taht to you.

I am ready to leave this world at any time. I am not depressed. not at all! I just feel like I have done all that needs to be done. I'm not sure what God has in store for me. He doesn't clue me in.

that recipe looks so good

BONNIE
you certainly do have a lot of fun things planned for your birthday! I wish I had a family like yours; mine in the U.S. is so mixed up. I think dad & mom forgot to teach love & respect the way each of us is & so they are all mean to each other

I truly believe that God sent me over here to be in Tad's family to get away from my mixed up one.
But now that our kids are all grown up Tad & I have no one but each other; & he is often in a bad mood. One little word from me seems to set him off. He never used to be like that. I think being the head of the family---he is the oldest of all of the cousins & his brother, plus running a company, he also misses his own mom & dad dearly .

he has way too much responsiblitly. Everyone is always asking him what to do. Like they can't do for themselves!

he used to take care of his parents so faithfully; when we get old there will be no one for us & that bothers him, but he doesn't let on. So he tends to take it out on me.

When he is that way, I feel so alone; feel like I should have just stayed in the U.S. in my "own backyard"

So now I go to this morning neighborhood meeting; it actually starts at 5 a.m. but I can not possibliy get out of the house until 5;30 until Tad leaves for work.
They are mostly women. They invite me to sunday breakfast but Tad & I usually go out for b-fast by ourselves. I am thinking I should join them more.

If Tad gets sick & dies I will have no one here. Ben & Kaoru don't count. Annie is in Denver & Christopher in Seattle. He has talked about taking care of me with Caleb & his dad if the time ever comes.

So BRENDA
I think just a little I feel as you do.

sorry to go on & on. I am just venting Enough of a pity party

I guess I will just go & read my kindle.

You all are my family here, too. BONNIE & BRENDA I depend on your love & advice a lot! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Bonnie, than you for your kind words and thoughts.

Apartment living is transient, meaning I never get very close to anyone because they either move away and I never hear from them again or they die.

I am so grateful that I found this site and all of you that lonely dark night. I had not a soul to talk to other than the landlord and people who came around to buy things out of the storage sheds.

emoticon to all of you for being here when you can.

Believe me, I realize how fortunate I am to have so much family and so many good friends in my life. I am truly blessed.

I am glad we have you in our family. Too bad we aren't closer physically so we could see one another. There is something very special about our relationships, though, that maybe we would not have. Who knows. I am just very grateful to have all of you in my life.

God Bless, Sweetie.

Bonnie, such fun things for your birthday. I turned 70 in 2012 and I had no party for my birthday. Only you all wishing me a Happy Birthday. I missed out on having a lot of family growing up because mom moved us from TN to Seattle.

The elevator is not working again. Tracy called Katrina and it took a long time for her to call her back, Then Katrina has to call Gina to get permission to call the Otis elevator people. I guess we will be lucky to get it fixed before Monday. Laurie never had to go through all of that. she would just call Otis.

I would love to go to the fair and those places, but my back hurts too much when I walk, so I don't. My legs are good, so I am grateful for that. My bike riding is helping them too.

Hope your knee gets back to normal for you. Glad you were able to enjoy most of your day. That does sound like the best weather day to go.

MICHELE

Well, my brother won't be living here. He will be going back to Houston. He loves Houston, and Texas. Gloria, not as much, and with her grandchildren here, this is where she wants to be. She will probably go back and forth, and he will probably go back and forth. They have a marriage that works for them. I don't think they will be getting divorced or anything. At least they have not said they are. I think this is just the way they chose to live. Hey, whatever works. I could never have been married at all

Rode my bike this morning. Then went to Kroger to pick up my groceries, and then to pick up Joyce so we could go out to eat. LOL Brought the groceries home before picking Joyce up. I bought a rotisserie chicken which I will warm and and fix something to go with it tomorrow.

I am feeling pretty good. I am so happy that I have finally found a way to exercise and not hurt my back. I am being careful, because I have had problems later, in the past, but I think this might just be the best for me. My back gets some stretching and movement, but does not seem to aggravate the bad spots so much.

Fingers crossed.

Well, my friends have a big plan for my birthday. Amy, Debbie, Aunt Phyl, Barb, and Amy's daughter Natalie and her girlfriend, Meghan, and I are leaving Toledo at noon. We are going to Medina, Ohio. Our other friend Lisa, the one who lives in Knoxville, will be at her friend's house that weekend in Medina with two of her friends. Her friend, whose house it is, is cooking dinner for all of us. The girls are paying for the food.

We know Lisa's two friends as well.

Then, the Toledo crew is going on to Cleveland to see "The Book of Mormon' on stage.

They made a good plan, don't you think? LOL. I guess I will not forget my 70th birthday. LOL

My nieces and their families are taking me and mom and dad out to a fancy dinner at an expensive restaurant the following Saturday. WOW. Am I ever spoiled.

My birthday is Sept 14.
God Bless all.

Here is an original recipe. I have not tried it so it may take some fine tuning. lol.

No. 10. Hot Dogs in Rice Pot Heaven.

emoticon
Ingredients:

6 hot dogs cut in 1 inch sections.
1 can sweet corn.
1 cup onion diced. (1 med.).
1 12 ounce jar chili sauce Heinz or equivalent.
1 cup green pepper. (1 med.).
1 16 ounce can baked beans.
1 cup brown rice.
2 cups chicken broth.
1 tbs mustard powder.
1 tsp black pepper.

I preheat hotdogs in microwave first to remove and discard some hard fat.

Directions: Place ingredients in rice pot and cook with rice.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and serve.

Actually it sounds healthy except for the hotdog part.

John. emoticon emoticon

your lemon chicken & fried shrimp sound good. And yes! yes! if you are sore or have any kind of pains, definitely take the day off from exercise. Every other day, every 3 days is a good way to start.

ELIZA
your brown rice & soup sound good. I hope your mom is well today

BRENDA
that IS a lot of walking that you did! I do not like others touching my food, either. one doesn't know where there hands have been, and a lot of people DO NOT wash their hands properly.

Are you all rested now? I do wish we had your weather Yesterday I had cramps while walking home from the train station. I walked 45 minutes in the 95 heat & 85% humidity. I had my water bottle with me & as soon as I started to drink, the cramps went away .I came home & took a tsp of sea salt & that really helped, too.

BONNIE
what a wonderful surprise that your brother came! that is so good that he will be living closer to you & your parents!

I have no plans for today, Sunday. Tad & I may go to Book Off & for sure we will go out to our usual 6 a.m. morning breakfast at Denny's

The elevator broke again yesterday. This time it is a different problem than the last two times. The guy had to go find a new part for it. I am wondering if they are considering replacing it, They are very expensive. Tuesday it stopped working right after the HUD inspection. They had all gone out the door to lunch when it stopped. When Katrina was leaving to go home yesterday she told me if the elevator stops again to call Tracy.

Patti and I went to the Fair and the weather was just right, in the mid 60's. She knew where all the seats were to sit and rest on because she used to go volunteer to keep the tables clean during the fair. The Senior Center got $1,000 for the volunteers doing that. Her legs hurts too and she needs to take frequent breaks so it all worked out. We each bought a corn dog and they were $5 each! Good though. We took our own water. We stayed for three hours and by that time we could hardly walk back to the car.

Margie told me that it cost her $34 for her lunch at the fair. A hamburger was $10 then she bought curly fries and a drink. OMG! I only buy the corn dogs ($5) because no one can really mess with them when they are cooking because they are bubbling in the grease and placed on a tray with tongs. I do not want anyone touching my food at those places. Liz asked me to get her a raspberry filled turnover and that was $1.75. In the old days they were 13 for $1 at the fair.

When we got back I stayed downstairs to wait for the commodity boxes to arrive because I knew once I went home I would not be able to go back down to get my box. Patti went home to lay down.

Once I came home I just sat and my chair with my legs elevated. Dinner was two small potatoes cut into thick fries and cooked in the air cooker. Then cooked a hamburger patty in it. YUM.

Patti came to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Then I stayed up until almost ten. Slept two hours and read for a while and then slept fitfully , finally waking up going on 10. I splashed water on my face and got dressed. I could barely walk for a while.

I was barely dressed when Patti came over with her coffee to see how I was. She had just as bad a night. I think this is the last time we will go to the fair because it is just too much walking.

I am wishing everyone well. I did read all the posts but too tired right now to respond. emoticon
