Organization, finances, getting enough sleep on a regular basis.

There was much rejoicing!

Good post Robin it really had me thinking too. I guess I could work on my finances too and get my house a little more organize too.

Everytime I wake up I have a chance.

Great post Robin. It immediately made me think of a book title I read, "Does this Clutter Make my Butt Look Fat?". I have a lot to work on but getting my home to run in an orderly fashion is at the top of the list. I am doing major de-cluttering this week but the main issue is getting it to stay clean and organized. With 5 children, it's a major issue.

I've been trying to get my finances under control, too, but hubby and I are slowly crawling out from under our debt.

The big thing that I want to work on now is my job. My company got bought last year, and I suddenly have very different job expectations. Right before the company was bought, I was supposed to get a promotion, and now I have all new management, and everything I did to earn that promotion doesn't count any more, so I'm back to square one. But my plan is to find out what the new guys want to see, and do whatever it takes to finally get the promotion I deserve!

Thanks to everyone! You have given me some great ideas and revealed some things I need to work on too. It's so nice to have all of you going through the same things. This time losing weight feels so different having this support and I feel that maintenance is totally doable. Before I felt like, man as soon as I get off this diet, I'm going to eat....This time I don't feel that way at all. I'm enjoying the foods I'm eating, and realizing that this will be my new lifestyle along with my other new habits! Thanks for the ideas!

This is so true! I feel like I am out of control in other areas, and I can't start eating better until I get that stuff under control (because planning what you eat takes time, organization, etc). In just the past week I realized that all that other stuff will still be there, regardless of whether I take care of myself or not. So I made the decision to take care of myself first. I have only been eating healthy for a bit, but feeling good about that has overflowed into other areas... I stayed up last night and finished the dishes, laundry, and went through some papers. It felt so good!
I wish you best of luck in your journey, I will be there right along with you!

acceptance. Be it with work, kids, husband, neighbors, life whatever. I just need to accept the things I can not change and only change the way I react. That is my biggie.

Congrats Really_Robin! I wish you all the best on your journey to Freedom 45. :)

I love your post and your honesty. I lost 100 pounds 15 years ago with the Zone diet and lifestyle, and I'm proud to say I've kept it off ever since. When I was losing the weight I decided to also get some psychological counseling. My issues in counseling were about anxiety, not related to weight loss at all, but I know the things I learned in counseling have played a big role in my ability to keep the weigh off all these years. The Zone and the counseling changed the path of my life. I'm always saying how freeing my weight loss experiences of the last 15 years have been for me. "Freedom 45" is an excellent choice of names for your new pursuit. Thanks for sharing, and again, all my best to you!

I've been thinking about an episode of the Biggest Loser that really had a big impact on me. It's the one where Suze Orman comes on and tells them their weight isn't their only big issue. Their finances are a total disaster! And it makes me think what other stuff do I need to work on.

Well for me, having been in the financial industry for over ten years, doesn't leave me immune to having difficulties with money. And I do have a plan now to pay off the debt I've accrued with my hours being cut with the downturn in the economy. And it's required some painful decisions, like getting rid of cable, only eating out for special occassions, etc. I know I'm singing to the choir here! But, by looking at all of my financial stuff it's made me get very real. If I don't buckle down now, I'll never be able to retire.

My plan now is titled Freedom 45. By the time I'm 45, in less than two years. I want to be at my goal weight and I want to be debt free, and investing for my future.

But somehow I feel like this may be the tip of the ice berg. I wonder what else is going to come up that I need to work on. My half hazard way of eating and dealing with money may extend to other things. And I wonder if any of my new fabulous Spark Friends have discovered anything.

Let me know if something has come up for you. I think by talking about this stuff it may just enable us to live our best lives yet! And that's truly what Freedom Forty Five means for me! emoticon
