hello from the first snow of middle Kentucky!

we finally got a blanket of it last night, but the streets are shiny wet so its melting already. I will bundle up towards the afternoon and get out for a couple miles of walking.

Morning all....been a busy week. Started doing a fit challenge with my martial arts class...this month it's push ups. Started with doing 10 push ups a day...then 12...and by the end of the month it will be 30 push ups a day. Whoever checks in the most to report that they have done their push ups, will win a $25 Gift card.
Been doing good with staying within my calories...just not getting all of the water I should. Weighed my self today and down about 1.5 lbs. emoticon Can't wait for the cold weather to be done and gone...my knee has been hurting a lot with the cold and when it does I don't want to do a lot of moving around. Had my chiropractor take a look at it and took a Glucosamine tablet yesterday and that seemed to help a little. The joys of aging I guess.

I'm feeling better. My blood sugar went over 600 on Saturday and scared me. It took 5 hours to drop back down. I went to the podiatrist today. I have the beginnings of neuropathy in my feet. He told me the risks but was upbeat and positive I could stop the progression by getting my numbers under control. I got to order new shoes YAY They scanned my feet and I can get 3 pairs of custom inserts per year. He also cut off this hard skin on my feet. I had struggled with my toe nail clippers to try to get some off. He just used a little blade and rubbed it on a couple spots...all done. Boy do my feet feel so much better!!!

I had been getting resentful when volunteering. that is not good. Part of it is there is hardly any phone calls to answer and nothing else to do. So I feel like I am wasting 3 hours a pop to sit somewhere. I tried to look at it for months as time to read my personal books, catch up on SP, write some....but the tension built. Oddly, one lady reads when there, one lady uses the computer, one lady works on the Bible studies she develops....that is how the others fill their time. But when I am there doing personal stuff I feel like the office manager/ treasurer looks at me like I am not being useful ...but there isn't anything to do.She almost always saves projects for me and doesn't have others work on things. Maybe its because I have been there the longest and she knows I work fast and accurate on projects. Maybe its because she can count on me. I don't know and what it boils down to is I don't want to be there and be in a bad mood.

this week I have doctor appts everyday. then volunteer 4 days. plus 3 nights of programs at church. Plus time with Malcolm. Long days and evenings without anytime really for SP or my blog. Like right now its 11:45pm. I have to leave at 9 am to be on the bus at 9:18. So to budget my time better I only signed up for 2 shifts per week in February rather than 4.

I talked to the adult ministries pastor today during my shift. I'm going to start helping out with a new prayer ministry. I will be writing requests for the people at our evening service- going to each table (we eat at that service) and asking what prayer needs they have. then hanging them on our prayer wall. Taking them to Sunday 730 am prayer group and also to the Monday twice a month prayer group. and keeping the requests current and cycling. He is going to ask the lady Trudy that had me over for Christmas dinner, the one who wants to do jail/prison ministry with me. And he will ask one more lady that I just met 2 weeks ago who seems very sweet and nice and welcoming to new comers.

that catches you up. Hopefully I can get online daily so I don't have to ramble so much at one time.

Kathleen I'm glad your eating is getting better.

I had a good weekend. Went to an escape room on Friday night with a couple of friends. I got a great walk in today and yesterday. I went over on calories on Friday but did great on the other days. Lost 2 lbs!!

I'm getting better at eating right for diabetes. I have a lot to adjust but my numbers are coming down. I think I am trying to do too much right now on SP. I have 4 charts for exercise that I fill in between 2 teams and I am starting a 2nd challenge today so now I have double reporting there as well. I won't tell you how long I am on here daily-- lets just say time passes quickly.

Morning all...

Did well yesterday with tracking. Not so well with getting my water in. Have my big 28 oz copilot full of ice water right here beside me now. Working on packing up items to ship out and then off to do some shopping..woohoo...get my step count higher. Have martial arts class tonight so getting a lot of exercise today. Back to the ol' grind... be safe everyone!

I woke up Monday morning with a horrible migraine...... Today was a tad bit better, but not much. Muddled through the work day, waiting for the Dr to call.....

Made Chicken Tortilla Soup in my Instant Pot tonight. So fast and was. It was a Christmas gift from hubby. So far, I love it!

I am on track for the last few days. I go back to school on Monday and I find it really hard to exercise when we're in session. At this rate, I should have 8-9 days of healthy habits established by the time kids come back. That should help. I need to find a way to maintain it. My Masters course starts a week late and then it will really kick up to another level - but I'll have another 7 days of habits established. My plan is to have enough planning done by Monday that my workload will be low enough that I will find the time to exercise.

Was the only one up at my place until about 1:30 or so, so I worked on getting some new items listed for my business. Already sold one of them. Also did a 10 minute cardio kickboxing video from Sparkpeople. Working on drinking my water...only have had 4 so far, but the only other things I've had to drink besides water is my morning coffee (and no one is taking that away from me!) and a mini-can of soda with lunch...working on cutting back on my soda consumption..a little at a time. Went with hubby to go look at a new lounge chaise for the living room since the futon we have is in bad shape...and apparently my SIL and family are coming later this month. They have a almost 2 year old and my apartment is in no way baby proof...especially with my inventory stored on shelves everywhere...sigh....

So now to work on packing up things to ship out tomorrow...and maybe list a few more items if I have the time and energy.

I went out cold at 11:30pm. We don't have regular tv so there was no ball drop to watch. I made a list of things I would like to accomplish this year and have begun to schedule the actions. Tonight a friend brought by some food from the soup kitchen. It was a real treat. Tomorrow I walk to the podiatrist. That is all I have to do so I will be working on my blog hopefully.

I'm in the same boat. Work has been really busy since October but my big project is done. I'm lucky that I have a bike in our office and am planning on getting back on that. I have reps coming in and out but for the most part I'm there by myself. We all got this!!

I'm very proud of myself today. I did the elliptical for 18 minutes this morning and went for a 40 minute walk at the riverfront. And I'm on track for eating and getting my water in!!!!

I got all my Christmas stuff put away today too. Feeling very productive!!!

I have definitely let the busyness of the holidays and work and life get the better of me this year. I have gained quite a bit this year and am so disappointed in myself. I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw the Christmas pictures. Ugh!! Anyways, I woke up this morning not feeling well. I think all the parties and horrible eating have caught up with me. I feel very lethargic (partly from having to go back to work tomorrow) so I'm letting myself rest today and will be spending time planning meals, goals (adding some fun ones too), and unfortunately having to do some work from home as well. Tomorrow I will start counting calories, exercising at least 30 minutes, and having daily devotions. My plan is to post here at least weekly for accountability. I have to get serious about this as I see a future of a lot of health issues if I keep going like this.

I got all my water in yesterday!! I'm on number 5 right now for today. Going out to eat in a little bit so I should get it all in. I also got on the elliptical yesterday and did a little bit today too. Trying to work my way back up.

We decided to just go to dinner and then come home tonight. We were supposed to go to my friend's house but David doesn't feel like it and I'm still tired from being sick last week.

I'm doing pretty good for my water today. I usually only get 2 cups in but I just finished my 6th!!! Yeah. Think I need to go back to doing a water schedule. I'll be getting on the elliptical in a little bit while I watch my show.

I watched a SP strength training video and did it today. Felt great! My mood is much better than the other day. I have started a new eating plan. I miss my carbs!!!! LOL but I feel less sluggish so its a good thing.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas. Mine was good but went by way too fast.

I really need to focus on getting back on track. I've been sick the last week or two and am finally getting my energy back. I plan on moving my elliptical into the front living room once I take the tree down on Tuesday. I'll just need my husband to run the cable wire up to that room so I can watch tv while I do it.

Tammy- I see you are a firecracker! So was I ! I am hoping to be again this winter.

It is gorgeous outside right now-- wonderful fall/ winter evening. We actually have a sunset tonight -- the grey lifted. I walked 2 miles to run errands today but got a ride home --cheat cheat cheat! But to be fair I did pick up several bags of bread to freeze from lunch at the soup kitchen so it was nice for the counter helper to give me a ride home to not have to carry the bags home.
I hope my son will help me eat them this coming quarter. Bread is not on my list of healthy foods. But I didn't have any bread budgeted with my eggs and veggies next month. So it is a blessing to have some. It was also nice to go to the Salvation Army for lunch. I got to see my friend Jane. She won't eat at home. No money and too lonely. So she eats at the soup kitchen's around town during the week. I was glad to see her in good spirits. She has struggled with jobs that were offered full time and becae part time which she couldn't live on. She now has a full time job that "unoffically" guarantees up to 20 hours overtime. they have the hours available they just can't say they will work you. It is up to the individual to take on the extra shifts as they arise. They are always short as it is a difficult challenge to find peope to work with developmentally challenged mentally disabled people.

Anyway, I have church tomorrow. Christmas eve food coming from friends and 11 pm service at church, then Christmas at another friends house. In between I hope to get another blog post out and some miles on these legs !!

i am still not eating mindfully as often as i liked. christmas goodies make it difficult becaue they are only around this time of year. although i suppose i could make a point of saving recipies for a different time of year. if i have a plan a and b decided on before hand i do better but itherwise i lose track of what i want to eat

Hi Sandy-
I am half way thru 49. recently I upped my water. I was already drinking 8 cups a day but the doctor said my blood works shows I was still near dehydration. So i have upped it to 12 cups a day and...I also switched up the cardio I am doing, I lost 87 lbs by walking but it just stopped. So a few people suggested I switch up. The scale is moving again...just slowly.

Hi I been having trouble losing weight now that Im 51 was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to lose weight. Cause I just not losing like I did when I was younger.

Very pleased with how the neurologist appointment went. She does believe they are migraines. I am starting a new preventative med tonight. I have a very tense neck muscle that she wants physical therapy to help with. That muscle may be adding a bit of a tension headache. We ran some bloodwork to make sure values are good. And I’m being scheduled for an MRI/MRA to rule out aneurysm since my Mom had one a couple of years ago. It was a very thorough appointment, and am happy with that. The goal right now is to find a preventative medication that works for me. Insurance only allows 9 pills for the medication that is taken at onset. So, we want fewer headaches :)

Hoping for some sleep tonight. Audit at work is done. I left early, so I’m not sure how it went.

I have been invited over to a couple's family dinner Christmas day. It is a couple in their 70's that are in one of our church prayer groups and on the vision team with me at church. They already have a FULL household but graciously extended the invitation. I will also be going to a church across the street from mine for Christmas Eve dinner which I hear is a big local event for the community. Tomorrow night is church caroling in the neighborhood. And then Christmas Eve service at 11 pm on the 24th of course.

I have so many blessings. I would like prayers that perhaps my son will decide to join me in one or two events. He has HIGH anxiety and rarely goes out. But I want him to have a nice Christmas too.

I took Anastasia to see Santa yesterday at Stevens Point Visitors Center. I don't think she quite gets it, but she did good. She made her own flower arrangement, and saw the reindeer there. Went home and took a late nap - I'll never understand why they have those events right at nap time! Then we headed to Marshfield zoo for the 17th annual Rotary lights display. She loved it!




We celebrated a mini Christmas with Anastasia on Friday to give her the gifts that stay at Nana and Papa's. It was a fun weekend!


Today is housework, and shopping to get ready for the week. I also meet my daughter to give her Anastasia. Have a good day!

I'm dealing with some depression today. My diabetic numbers are VERY high. I am now testing twice a day and each time I do it is upsetting. I know it will take a while and probably another prescription or two in order to bring down my numbers... But I can't seem to shake being on the verge of tears (self pity) and wanting to sleep to avoid the day (self pity and denial). Time to put my big girl panties on and remove the emotions from the equation. Just accept without attaching an emotion to the results--- not good/bad yay/ or boo just a number to aim for over time and keep going til I hit it.

Vicky- you inspire me. I'm gonna plan my food for tomorrow and stay in calorie range. I haven't been keeping track.

my A1C turned out to be high. That is a number that determines diabetes. I don't know exactly what the number was but one doctor wants me to be seen right away. I called scheduling and they said they would talk to someone and call me back if they felt it needed to be dealt with before the 20th which is my follow up.

I'm a bit overwhelmed with SP right now. I guess I didn't log in yesterday except to send a note. My inbox is FULL. I feel like just deleting it all and starting fresh LOL. It exhausts me just seeing the list.

I got to the gym twice to ride the bike. I am very proud of myself. I didn't want to go either day. I guess I'm gonna have to step it up anyway with my diabetic number. It doesn't surprise me because I haven't treated the condition for 2 years.

Today was the first day in at least a month that I stayed within my calorie range. Started out the day on the elliptical. I finally got up to 21 minutes on it. Doesn't sound like a lot but I've been increasing how long I can last on it.

I made a doctors appointment to get a gp. I can now get back on diabetes medicine and high blood pressure medicine that I have been off for 2 years for not keeping a doctor and caring enough / taking those seriously enough. But a lady on SP just lost her mom who was only 55 and died of diabetes. YIKES. I read that Wednesday night and called the doctors office Thursday.

Thursday I also went to the gym and rode the stationary bike even though I did not want to and-went to the Ladies Tea even though my anxiety was HIGH and I wanted to isolate at home

I can't figure out why the water wouldn't track.

Dropped my car off this morning to get new tires. Need them really bad. The shop is just shy of 2 miles from my work so I was thinking I would just walk there to get it. I have to walk under the overpass so that will be the only bad thing but can handle it. Great way to get my exercise in!!

i have been struggling with getting enough sleep. for some reason on sunday nights i get mentally hyper before bed so then i am tired all day monday. i dont know why it is so hard to fall asleep on sunday nights. tomorrow night i take my nieces to st nick night then i have thursday and friday off. i do have to do 3 hours of my BROT for work to do on thurs or friday,. then i also want to do some baking and decorating

Not really sure what I'm doing wrong. I've started using the Team Goals, everything is tracking just wonderfully except for the water. I've tried both the water tracker and also logging the water intake. Somehow though it is still not adding it to the tracking team goals on here.
Any other suggestions or maybe something I've missed, would be helpful.

feeling mostly better. i do have a little nose and throat stuff. otherwise my energy level is back where it was before i was sick. i am not an energetic person but i did pretty well today. my supervisor brought in homemade cookies, fudge and pumpkin log. said no to the cookies but the other 2 made me crack. i did not munch all day and came home and did not eat a large supper. hopefully if i get in bed early tonight i will fall asleep quicker then last night

No, my daughter did not know the size of he cyst. She gets them often and are very painful. This one burst around 4 am on Friday, and she is still in pain. Some of that could be due to the extra poking and prodding on Friday night. She has a web Dr visit on Tuesday. She will be asking how to prevent them from getting that big.

We skipped the lights, and decorated the gingerbread house. She had fun, even though she ate the icing more than decorated. Once she realized it tasted good....

Still felt lousy today, but worked on my lunch meal prep, and made garlic chicken with Italian beans for dinner. So yummy!! We took Anastasia home around 5. Our snow finally stopped. We got 5-6 inches, but it was starting to snow towards Madison.

ENT appointment is tomorrow at 9. Hope they actually listen and help me.

I started December ambitiously with the 5 mile walk today instead of last night. I have a new challenge this week starting the 5th. It runs until the next 5%challenge. Its looking like I wil be accountable year round with these two challenges. I need that.

Picked up my granddaughter last night from Madison. We usually meet halfway, but my daughter went in to the emergency room. She had a football size cyst burst and cause some major internal bruising on her right side. We didn’t get home until 11:00. Made a frozen pizza, and called it a night.

Started getting a sore throat last night, and was horribly raw overnight. Just a cold, but enough to make my sinus issues worse. Such is life.

I had planned to take Anastasia to see Christmas lights tonight, but we are expecting 3-6 inches of snow. So, my plan is decorate a gingerbread house emoticon emoticon

Hope all is well. Time for a nap.

Tammy, hope you are feeling better.

My goal is to get back on track this week. We are going to have some awesome weather today so I plan on going to the riverfront to walk. Will wait until at least 10 since there's a big 5k going on down there. I'd love to sign up for a bunch of 5ks but I really don't want to spend the money to do it.

also going to work on getting rid of more junk this weekend.

warmer weather today. I spent the morning ringing bells for the Salvation Army. I may get in a 5 mile walk later. Depends on the weather.

I woke up monday morning with a dry scratchy throat. as the day continued i felt crummier. yesterday and today i debated on calling in sick when i woke up. i did not do overtime yesterday. because i felt icky. todau i had an appt so i brought my laptop home. i figure i can do the time i mixed and a little extra so i dont have to stay as late tomorrow.

Hope you feel better!

Appointment went well, and I think the Dr and I are in agreement. He put me on Singulair to treat a possible allergy. But, he has referred me to an ENT. I agreed, as long as I see a different one. I've seen the last one twice in 7 years, and get no results from him. So, it's in the notes with a name of a different doctor. I probably won't hear anything for a couple of days, and I asked hubby to go with. I want his support to help me get across to the doctor how miserable and worse this is getting.

It was a very long day..... For some reason, I just could not sleep last night. According to my Fitbit, I slept less than two hours. But, got up and walked this morning. I couldn't sleep anyway....LOL

Pat - Hope your husband's tooth stays pain free until he can be seen!

Tonight's meal with a Chicken Bruschetta Bake. So yummy, and so easy! With a side of the smashed butternut squash I made for Thanksgiving!

i had a great 4 days away from full work days. i did get some ot hours in on friday and yeasterday. last night i was tired but my mind was happily going over the fun ui had over the holiday weekend, i did not sleep well and woke up with a sore throat. as the day continuedm a full head cold emerged. so tonight was an attempt at napping, then soup for supper. will take medicinebefore bed and hopefully get al ot of sleep.

Had a bit more energy today, but still needed a nap. Ate what I should, and not what I want today :) And I am making myself walk in the mornings. Evenings just are too short.

Tomorrow is my follow up with my Dr. Hopefully, we can agree on some kind of treatment. I still think it is my frontal sinuses that do not drain. The steroids helped a lot, but when I stopped taking them......

Made a beef and potato casserole in the crockpot for dinner tonight. It was yummy and perfect for this dreary damp day! But, glad we are not getting the snow that is hitting the southern part of the state. Stay safe and warm!

Hope your headache is better Michelle. My sinuses have been driving me crazy for the last month.

Taylor headed back to school last night. Her school area is supposed to get hit really bad with snow. Anywhere from 3-9 inches of snow and so windy. We're going to get some snow here. I may go stay at a hotel by work tonight just depending on how things go later tonight. I know my boss would be ok with me coming in late but I have so much to do.

I'm going to finish cleaning up the house today. The dog got sick a few times on the carpet so I need to finish cleaning the carpets. Fun fun. May as well do the whole house while I have it.

Spent Black Friday helping my daughter put up her mosaic yikes for the kitchen back splash. It really is beautiful. Can’t wait to see the end result after the grouting is done! I checked out the Mattel store, but nothing jumped out at me. So, I have my ideas. I’ll just buy when I see it.

Today, hubby and I were lazy bums.... Lol. I took a walk this morning on the treadmill, but haven’t done much since. We didn’t even dress for the day....Lol I did some laundry, and portioned Thanksgiving leftovers for the freezer.

Sinus headache was pretty bad today, but I just took it easy and took a nap. Tomorrow is grocery shopping and finishing laundry.

I have been eating really bad lately. Time to do what needs to be done. And I do feel better when I eat better. I struggle so bad when I feel awful. I just don’t put forth the energy to eat right, even though I know I would feel better.

Hope everyone had a great Thankgving! I decided not to do the turkey trot 5k on Thanksgiving. There were 5000 people signed up. Way too many people for me. I did get out yesterday and and went for a great walk on the riverfront.

I got my Christmas tree up today and got two presents wrapped. I need to get a couple of boxes to wrap gifts in.

Taylor is driving back to school tonight instead of tomorrow. We're supposed to get some nasty weather tomorrow and it's supposed to be worse up at her school.

I slept Wednesday from 4pm - 8pm then 11pm to 1:30am. Its 9:28 and I'm still wide awake. I just hope I stay awake til 3 when we go to church to enjoy a community Thanksgiving.

Finally got a day off in what seems like the first time in forever. I know it has only been since Monday when I was sick, but that doesn't really count as a day off. Wish I had tomorrow off as well, I want to do some Black Friday shopping with my mom. Since I have the day off, I plan to start it with a long walk with my best friend and then probably a shorter walk with my puppies. They love to go for walks, but the cold weather has caused problems with their paw pads. I have to get them out though, otherwise they are going to start gaining weight. Have to go back to work on Friday - Monday, but then I have Tuesday off. Glorious Tuesday! I can't wait!! I have been tired a lot lately as well, but I believe it is because of the weather. I hate winter, even though it lasts about 6 months in Minnesota. I also hate being cold. It makes me want to hibernate. If I do get too cold, I tend to take a nap.

Hi everyone! It's been a great day here. My boss decided to let me take the day off today!! Yeah!! Been working on house stuff. Need to run to the store still to buy some regular lettuce since some of the romaine has been recalled. Can't make my 7 layer salad without lettuce!!

Trying to decide if I want to do the 5k with my daughter tomorrow. There are 4300 people signed up. She said it wasn't bad with all those people last year but man do I hate crowds.
