WaterskierCP---you're not alone.

We can do this! Forget the past. I'm going to be fifty, well, someday, (time flies!) and I don't want to start that decade with regret. If it takes awhile to get to my goal and maintain it, fine, but I am done with gaining wt. and making excuses!

Teacupmary I feel your pain. I lost my last five pounds it seemed like it took forever. Guess what over the past couple of months I put it right back on. I don't even feel as if I over indulge . I just let myself have a little dessert here and there. I am so disgusted with myself. I was 1 pound from goal and now I am back where I started. I need some kind of push to get me going again. :(

You are very kind. I got on the scale today even though I said I'd wait till Feb. 1. I thought I should know and just accept the fact and move forward. It's not terrible, but I could kick myself.

I'm feeling more inspired. You are very nice here and I should frequent the team more often. I will also look into making a spark page. Thank you for that idea too.

Thank you all.

Ya know I can really relate to that. The gals in my office are on the kick this year to try a lose a few extra pounds. They are coming around telling me about the pound here and there that they have already lost. The thing is that two years ago when I started I lost 30 pounds and everyone else stopped trying.

So, now I am trying to get my system kick started with something crazy. I am looking at some new things to do that will kind of shock my body a bit. Not the usual running or hiking. This time I am going to try rowing and some intense weight lifting. I am in hopes that this coupled with a good diet will get things moving on the scale.

I don't know, but it's worth a shot. Good luck with your extra pounds.

I don't believe in depriving myself either, but I didn't eat as much crap as last year. Last year I gained five pounds. I only lost three. This year I gained one pound. I'm still having trouble getting rid of my weight. I'm in that range where I have 10-12 pounds to lose. It is so hard to get rid of them.

Sometimes I think we are a bit hard on ourselves. I did enjoy the holidays and all the trimmings. Did I put on a few extra pounds? Well not that anyone else can really tell. I am certainly not rushing out to purchase new clothes. I love all the cookies and candy during that time of year and I don't feel that I should cut myself off.

Enjoy life as it comes. Get plenty of rest, exercise and keep the goodies coming in reasonable portions. Don't feel the guilt just move on after the holidays and get yourself back on track. Even if you gain up to 10 pounds, you can still get back to normal in very minimal time. Be Happy.

Teacup Mary... I would like to encourage you to make a SparkPage. It's pretty easy, it doesn't have to be flashy and it's a great place for others to stop by and encourage you on your journey to your weight goal AND better health.

And of course you can do it! Wanting to do it is the first step and putting it into motion involves just taking it one baby step at a time.

Drinking all your water, staying within your calories, doing something (anything) to burn calories - even if it is just walking.

You CAN do this! And we're all here to encourage you.

I didn't think I would ever lose my gut either. Then when I started losing a pound here, a pound there I got really inspired and forged on ahead!!!

Make small goals for yourself. Make them attainable. You will be surprised how empowered you will feel when you reach them. then make another, and another and another....

Of course you can reach your goal. As long as it is realistic, why not you?

Thank you for the encouragement.

Can I really reach my goal like you? I don't know why I think everybody else can, but I never will. emoticon

It's not always easy to stay away from all the delicious holiday treats. I know I indulged in pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and way too much Christmas candy...

I was up three lbs. just before or after Christmas Day (can't remember now and too lazy to look at my reports), but I really dug in on the 26th... and got back down to my goal weight.

You've got a plan TeacupMary! That's half the battle.

In the interest of being transparent, I did terrible. I'm not going to weigh myself until February 1. I know what I need to do. I already feel better making the changes.

Today I'm going to get back to exercising.

You are an inspiration. Hopefully next fall/holiday season I can join you in doing what I should have done...sigh...

I did really well considering I didn't get in my Curves work outs towards the end of the month. I went the 22nd and 28th the last two weeks! This was based on things I had to do and their holiday schedule. I watched the scale go from 106 to 108. I paid attention to what I ate big time!

I am going tonight though. emoticon

I know I went over a few times on calories, mostly due to my hubby baking cookies! But I stepped up activity and didn't gain.

I had set a goal to lose weight in December, knowing I needed an extra push, but the scale stayed exactly the same. Guess I should be glad I didn't have a gain.

I did very well. Only 1 day went over. I have been exercising more this past 3 weeks as I have a break from school and vacation from work...so that helps!
Also, our Wellness Committee at work sponsors an annual Weigh-In/Weigh-Out (begins week before Thanksgiving and ends first week of New Year) so that little voice in my head reminds me that I have to maintain (weight and self-control) over the holiday season. They give a silly little prize if you don't exceed the normal 6lb weight gain that is allegedly the average for this time of year. I have not gained at all the past 3 years I've been doing it! YIPPEE!
Hope you all are staying on track!
Happy New Year and Keep up the GREAT work!

I didn't do horribly. I didn't do great. I also haven't weighed myself in about three weeks. Too scared. I think I've gained some. Like you said back on track today and better than ever.

Hi everyone! HAPPY NEW YEARS! I was wondering how everyone did as far as diet over the holiday season. I think I did pretty well. I only see 2 days on my tracker that I went way over my limit. But, finally the holidays are over. I am going to start today to really stay within my calorie range. Best wishes to everyone for a happy healthy 2010! emoticon
