Quite home dinner with just my family. No in-laws for the first time! It will be quite and fun! We are having a Wii Competition with prizes and a bike ride on the beach! My daughter (10) is making Turkey and I am making duck. We are making individual small pies, because everyone like a different kind. Fun for all!

Yep, hop on over to Oklahoma and come join us as we feed a few hungry Marines and/or soldiers! Most will have liberty to go home, but there will be a few here...

Deb, we have room! Come see us and bring your jammies. Not sure about any benefit runs but we will have the fun lamp lit!

What a great idea, a Thanksgiving Day benefit run. You've inspired me to make sure I exercise on Thanksgiving morning, no matter what our plans end up to be. BTW, has anybody got room for two more around their holiday table?

I always start the day with a fun run that benefits the hungry. It's a tradition now. Even now that I don't really run a lot. It's a really motivating way to start the day.

Then I have family coming over. Everyone brings a little something.

Ahhhh...Thanks! I don't think I can get that here in Guam. I wonder if I can substitute pumpkin or applesauce in my homemade brownies? I've done the applesauce substitute for cake mixes, but I'm going to do a search and see what I can find.

The recipe calls for yogurt, but Susan says she uses pumpkin or applesauce. I'm going to try the pumpkin for Thanksgiving - it sounds yummy!

We buy new jammies to put on Thanksgiving morning and stay in them as long as we like. We have all the Christmas decorations out and decorate our tree and inside our house. We have LOTS of unique ornaments that have been given to us so it is very special putting them on and remembering great friends and special loved ones, some who are not with us any longer.

All of our family is out of town so it is just me and hubby. We are on the phone ALOT on Thanksgiving.

We like to do cornish game hens. Easy to do, rich and scrumptious without too many calories. He makes homemade cranberries (love them) and we usually do asparagus and a salad. We also do stuffing. I treat myself to a special wine with dinner. I have been saving a bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay to try. I've heard its yummy.

That's our holiday. Pretty simple but I always look forward to it so much!

I love those No Pudge brownies made with pumpkin! Carol Ann is that how you're making it? I've also made them with yogurt (too gooey) and apple sauce (which I really like also). My SIL doesn't like pumpkin so I make them with apple sauce when I take them to her.

This year I'm going to my DH's parents house with him for Thanksgiving dinner but then on Saturday I'm having a dinner at my house for my parents. I'll invite my brother but I don't know if he'll show... I like making the turkey and I modify everything I make to reduce the fat. I know that some people like to make a cauliflower mash instead of mashed potatoes but I really want the real thing (and I make it with almost no fat). I have to have stuffing also but I cut way back on the fat! Some other items: corn on the cob, broccoli, yams, and desserts galore!

I'll be cooking dinner here for my boyfriend. I'll make something healthy. Don't know what yet.
He eats so unhealthy but I must eat that way and I need to teach him to do so too.

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Have to share between the families! Usually do drinks at one, then dinner and dessert at another.

I have to bring pies, so I am going to make a gluten free, vegan one for me and my nephew and anyone else that wants to eat it.

Thanksgiving will be at my house for the 3rd year now. We used to go to my Dad & Stepmom, but we lost her to lung cancer in May 07. (still miss her and our Thanksgiving weekend with her & my dad).

I make turkey and spiral sliced honey ham (both lean and healthy choices), baked sweet potatoes, lots of veggies, mashed cauliflower and fat free gravy.
I also make more traditional dishes that I don't indulge in, like mashed potatoes, stuffing and biscuits.

My oldest GS & I make a modified version of pumpkin pie and No Pudge brownies (he likes to bake).

I love having my family come and stay for a week - it's organized chaos (well it's disorganized chaos, but I still love it - LOL)

I can hardly believe the holiday is so close. We were invited somewhere and then got a call yesterday that it was canceled.

Now I'm thinking of what I can do to make my dinner healthy, but still delicious, maybe even not serving such a traditional meal, but I'm not sure what to do.

Any ideas? What are your plans?
