I use to weigh daily and it got too overwhelming if I didn't see a change for too long of a time so I went to weekly which worked for me, but I started finding myself focusing too much on the numbers. I am not at weighing once a month.

Every morning after I go to the bathroom (every ounce counts, right? haha!) - I like to see how my choices the day before affect me the next morning with things like water retention. Also, I will take a loss whatever day it shows up rather than try and game the week to try to be as low as possible on a particular day. It is actually comforting for me to see the scale go up and down by as much as 2-4 lbs in a day because it reminds me that my body just does crazy things and a little variation here and there isn't anything to beat myself up over.

Life is too precious to put off living it until some arbitrary date or weight!

I was doing it once a week first thing after my shower on Wednesdays. Then it varied because of challenges the day I would do it. I prefer no more then twice a week, but always in the morning and before I eat or exercise.

I weigh myself about twice a week. I'd like to only do it once a week but halfway through `the week I get curious to see how I'm doing. I've always been a "glass half-full" type of girl so if after 3 days I haven't lost weight, I know not to be expecting a big number at my weekly weigh-in.

Like clock work, I get up every single morning at 6am, go to the bathroom, weigh myself. I write down my daily weight in a weight loss journal I'm keeping so I can keep track of my pattern, that way when I gain water weight during my monthly I won't freak. I do "official loss" weekly weigh ins every Monday and I measure my body once a month because you can't go by the scale alone. I found a neat pin on Pinterest that has two glass jars, one filled with the amount of glass beads you want to lose, and one you place from the other what you lost. My bottles say "where I am" and the other "where I'm going"... It's a great visual aide and motivation. Every Monday during my weekly weigh in I move the beads I've lost to my "where I'm going" jar. It gives me a sense of accomplishment :-)

I have to be the change I want to see.

I always weigh in the morning, before eating or starting any exercise. I for sure weigh each week, but I am known to weigh a few more times throughout the week.

I weigh myself every Monday morning before I eat. I always put my digital scale in the same spot too.

I too weigh in first thing in the morning of weigh in days only though. I don't think its a problem to weigh yourself every morning, its more about sticking with one consistent time of day to weigh yourself and understanding that fluctuations occur day to day in our weight. For some its weighing in 2 times a week at the gym, some its once a week before bed, and others its every day right when you wake up. Do what works for you, thats the only person you have to please. :)

It may only be one step, measuring mere inches, but it IS a measurable amount of movement that is aimed in the right direction. Remember this the next time you feel you've not done enough and get discouraged. ~Me

Great questions! My trainer has gotten me on the system of only weighing in at the gym, using the same digital scale every time. I usually weigh in once or twice a week, depending on how my clothes are feeling. My plan though is to start weighing in more often if I ever get to my goal weight...about 70 pounds to go! Right now, I just get too caught up in the numbers on the scale to do it every day, but I'm heard some people do that and it works great for them. If something works for you, do it! Keep it up!

emoticon so what weigh in habits do you all have? I step on my scale every morning first thing after going to the bathroom. This is a habit I have had for a long time and I know it goes against some peoples advice but what do you all do daily, weekly, monthly, or something different?
