I'm here, trying to figure this sp stuff all out. I suck at the whole eatting on schedule thing. I can't seem to eat breakfast or lunch then eat really a little bit at dinner. I didn't exercise at all yet today but plan to do a little later. Vacation time here and can't wait for it to be over and get back into a routine.

KLPH76- you've got to make your health a priority. I did the same thing you did my first year with Sparkpeople. It wasn't until I started to track the calories that my weight started to go down.

I'm shocked that I can't hit my low of total calories. I've always been a binge eater and not being hungry is new for me.

I need help or support or something. I need to change.

I started at this site nearly a year ago at 275lbs, trying to ultimately reach somewhere around 165lbs...

And I've totally slacked off, and here I am a year later at 290. I've gained 15lbs since January. What's worse is that this means I've gained 30-40 lbs since August '08... this rate of gain is NOT good and not normal for me.

Any suggestions for getting going? Especially when I've got joint and muscular problems that act up in the cold or when exercising, and when I'm the working professional in the household - usually unable to take the time to cook for myself (yay for a cooking husband, though).

I welcome any support/suggestions/etc. Clearly whatever I've been doing has been completely wrong... :(

Weekends are the hardest. I am mostly home cleaning and cooking. To avoid not picking on food is the toughest part. Today I'm making chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies for my family. There will be one secret ingredient (raisins) I will put these in both cookies. This will deter me from eating them because I hate raisins with a passion. I won't even pick them out, it takes to much time.. Well, I will check in later to let you know how I did. Hope you all have a good Saturday... emoticon

Feeling really great today. I did not touch the Delicious Monthly Birthday cake at work today. The best part I did not let it bother me. I'm swearing off cookies and cake for at least 6months. I just hope it lasts, especially with the holidays. I HAVE FAITH AND I WILL CONCUR... emoticon

Hi all,

Took a 5 month break but, I am going to try it again. I learn from you all that I need to set doable weekly goals and share it with the rest of the group. So here are the goals:

1) no soda for the week (from 3-64 ouncers daily)
2) no fast food (from 2-3 times a day)
3) Ride bike 2 miles a day for 5 days (from 0)


I will be back tomarrow night to tell you how I did. Wish me luck!

Jillian Michaels really knows how to kick a girls butt. I am on day two of the 30 day shredd and now I feel like I wasted my time doing nothing last month. I did do something last month, but this is way more intense. I like it!

I've joined weight watchers and I've been doing it for about eight weeks now and I've lost 16 lbs!! I'm really excited and working to lost waaaayyy more. It's really an awesome feeling for me to actually feel myself getting smaller and see it in my clothes!! I love it!!!!

Hello all! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Here in Canada we had ours in October so what's my excuse? All kidding aside, I'm a little let down with the amount I'm losing, only a pound a week. Don't get me wrong I'm happy its going down but I was hoping for bigger numbers. I have been a good girl (honestly). I guess I need to step up the exercise. Hope you all have a good week and keep up the good work~ you keep me inspired.

OLLIEE I BOUGHT THE TREADMILL AND I'm THINKING TO BUY ELLIPTICAL BUT I VE BEEN TOLD THAT IT HURT THE KNEES SO I DECIDED TO WAIT TILL I LOOSE SOME WEIGHT THEN START DOING IT

Day two for me has been rough. I was going to go to the gym on my way home from work, but had a massive headache. I'm hoping after dinner I will feel better and will be able to pump myself up to go.

Walking is great exercise. Have you tried an elliptical? I like it better than a tredmill because there is no impact (I have knee problems once in awhile too).

hello Allie hello everyone I'm doing so good so far i walked in treadmill for 30 minutes twice a day that's my sport so far but i intend to do more aerobics after loosing some pounds to not hurt my knees

***UPDATE ON MY KNEE***

I went back to the doctor this afternoon (just got home in fact) to go over my MRI results. I injured my lumbar, I have something called Bursitis, I sprained 3 ligaments on my right knee & have swelling around my meniscus.

He wants me to stay on the "RICE" therapy (Rest/Ice/Compress/Elevate my leg) for 20 min. every hour. Starting next week, I will have to get coritizone shots and I will start pt (after Thanksgiving). I'm still taking pain meds as needed (mostly only at night now) & I'm still on the anti-inflamatory medication (which also helps with my RA). I have had RA for several years, but today I found out that it has started in my kness (it was just my hands/feet).

I was so excited to find out that I don't need to have surgery! As strange as it may sound, I'm also excited about PT because that means I will be on the road to recovery!

I am really feeling overwhelmed and not meeting my goals. I am doing okay diet wise, only messed up once this week, but I am not meeting my exercise goals. With school, work, kids, and the holidays coming up, I am really stressing and than I just give up and sit on the couch watching television. This is a habit I need to break so I have made it a weekend goal to make time for exercise.

I injured my foot running 2 weeks ago - and i've been very worried and not wanting to slow down my exerciseing. so i found other ways to still get some workout time in. it is feeling better and today i was able to about 40 min of cardio!!!! yeah!!!! lovd it!

Well, I went to the orthapaedic doctor today. He thinks I've damaged several ligaments... he won't know for sure until he gets the results from the MRI. He replaced my crutches with a wheelchair and put me on two more pain meds. I pray that I won't end-up needing surgery!

I DID WALK SOME TODAY. BUT NOT A FAST WALK LIKE USUAL, PUT COTTON IN MY EARS. I DID MANAGE TO TO 10 WALL PUSHUPS TOO. I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DR NEXT WEEK. UGH.
