I weighed myself today and it said I was 197.6 pds. I wasn't very happy that i didn't get down further but guess I will just have to get work outs in to get to goal

I just joined the group. I have been on spark for a while. I left gained weight and here I am again. I have been working out for 5 days now. I feel better and have more energy. I am 36 and have three kids. I also run a fast food business so that makes it hard to make the right decisions with it in your face all day. It is going to be 105 here in Texas today but I got my workout in early. I am starting slow but I did join the Fall Biggest Loser Challenge Team. I am excited about that.

hi. i just joined today.

i was making excellent progress until this summer. i've been really slacking.

i was down 125 pounds but have gained back about 4lbs.

i'd like to lose another 50-65 pounds by my b-day in february.

I did bootcamp for a while. I loved it and felt worked out everytime. I swear my butt felt tighter and my arms were leaner. Unfortunately I could not continue due to finances. You will really enjoy it.

New here but I believe I am on the right track. Trying so hard to be good on vacation and doing better than I have ever before. I signed up for a trainer two times a week (boot camp) should help me in building the muscle and burning calories but I need to get moving with cardio. I tracked my route to begin walking when I get home and will start that up in hopes of seeing the weight fall off. I am going to print my shopping list for family of 4 and try to keep up with spark menu next week. Wish me luck!

BACK IN THE DAY WHEN I WAS IN WEIGHT WATCHERS AND WORKING OUT REGULARLY AS WELL AS EATING HEALTHY; THE CLINICIAN ALWAYS TOLD ME NOT TO PAY ATTENTION ONLY TO THE SCALE NUMBERS BECAUSE WHEN YOU ARE WORKING OUT AND BUILDING MUSCLE, MUSCLE MASS WEIGHTS MORE THAN FAT!

AT THAT TIME I REACHED MY GOAL AND WENT FROM A SIZE 12-14 PETITE WOMAN'S TO A SIZE 5 PETITE. ALTHOUGH THE SCALE NUMBERS WERE OFF FROM MY ORIGINAL WEIGHT GOAL NUMBERS. I STILL HAD ACCOMPLISHED WHAT I WANTED AND TO BE A SIZE 5, TONED AND FIT. IT WAS GREAT!

I WAS A SIZE 5 FOR OVER 10 YEARS BEFORE I GAINED MY WEIGHT BACK AND LOSS ALL MY MUSCLES MASS BECAUSE I STOPPED WORKING OUT!

NOW AM STARTING UP AGAIN :) PRAYING FOR THE SAME RESULTS USING SPARKS METHOD INSTEAD!SO FAR I HAVE LOST ALMOST 7LBS IN 2 WEEKS WITH ZERO ACTIVITY, BECAUSE AT THIS TIME I AM NOT ABLE TO BE PHYSICAL PER DOCTORS DUE TO A RECENT PHYSICAL INJURY I SUFFERED.

Imreite,Weight loss is both exercise and food intake. One does not work well without the other. Just keep tracking your food and try to see if there is a pattern there that you can work on. Maybe you crave "forbidden" food at the same time everyday if that is it, then try to beat the craving with a healthy substitute.
Today was my first day of exercise. I have a dvd with 10 minute segments. I was going to do one, but after 10 minutes I decided to go ahead and do a second segment.

My weight is still going up slowly. i've increased my activity. i'm hoping it is muscle, but i know i have been making bad food (portion) choices lately. I generally eat sweets but the portions have been crazy. i've caught myself eating even though i am not hungry.

back to the drawing board, or in this case back to tacking all foods and portions and do more stength training

Hi everyone! This has been an awsome week so far! I dropped another 2 lbs on the scale and couldn't be happier! My big day is only 67 days away and I am so excited! I am glad that I had a plan in mind to fit into my wedding dress, but now my goal is to continue to stay healthy even after I reach my goals! I hope everyone is having the same kind of week! Hi. My name is Sage. I've belonged to this team since I started in March, but I haven't written much. I just wanted to say that today I have officially lost 50 lbs! It feels great. I still have a bit of a journey--43 lbs to go--but there is something about those mile markers that make it extra special when you achieve them. When I lose 4 more pounds, I will no longer be obese but rather simply overweight. I am very encouraged.

You're doing it right. You can still add exercises to anything even if it's not a scheduled day. There is a button to the right (I think).

I did the Jillian Michaels this morning. That just kicked my butt. I didn't feel very good afterwards. I felt like barfing. HOw do you guys record the cardio with that video when you do it?

I am very confused about my weight loss. I am wondering if my calorie intake is too high? It tells you that sparke sets that for you based on your goals and the weight you want to achieve. I have my strength training exercises added under my fitness, but when I added it it put the exercise in as 2 sets of 10-15 reps. I am not sure if I am doing that many reps because when I do strength training it is usually circuit training so your not doing individual strength training exercises one by one. Also, I have exercises I do off of the on demand section of my cable television under sports and fitness. They have different workouts and I always try and do at least 35 minutes and some days more then that. For example this morning I did a walking workout for 44 minutes and it included cardio and strength training intervals. I put it in under cardio, but I didn't have strength training scheduled today. If you want to add strength training on an off day, can you do that? I just have questions because it seems like the weight doesn't want to come off the scale. I am counting all of my calories.

I beleive it too. I notice I will opt for healthy fruits rather than the junk foods I have for lunches.

Didn't get a workout in but did get a small walk in with the doggys. Some moron had their dog out and off a chain while we were walking. I didn't realize it until we got right up on it. The dog ran in the road and on its way back to the house it almost got hit by a car. I felt bad but I was more angry because the moron didn't have a clue. It was ok when we continued on the walk so I hope it stayed out of the road. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice again but not as warm. I'm planning to take the dogs on another walk tomorrow after all the festivities.

Read an interesting article. When you way more or are "obese" your taste buds don't work as well. Meaning, that when you are in at a healthier weight you can actually taste the fat in food. I actually agree with this. When I am bigger I can't taste the fat in something. But when I am more focused on my eating habits I can actually taste the fat in the food and its gross.

Morning everyone. Busy here at work today. Have an ISO audit going on and a corporate wide meeting all day. Lot's of ppl from everywhere. I can't wait til 4 and get out.

Didn't get a workout in last night but I did get 20 min this morning. I felt alot better about myself since I did too.

Missing my little grandbaby and stepdaughter. My mind is in overdrive. Not sure what is happening with me. I'm on an emotional rollercoaster these days.

IWANT165 - Great job losing 10 of those nasty pounds. It happens to all of us here and there. Don't beat yourself up all you can do is remember its the past and this is now. You are doing great keep it up.

Hello everyone!
Today is my first day of a long journey ahead of me. I've been here before but have managed to keep weight stable for over a year. Went back to work in the fall, with illnesses, crazy work schedule, etc. I did a great job of gaining almost 20 lbs in 3 months. Something I am truly ashamed of..... Since then, I have managed to drop 10 but I find myself using food as a crutch when times are stressful.
I am with a personal trainer and I have joined a healthy eating, healthy you kind of group through my dr, so my desire is there. I hope that by joining Spark People, we can motivate each other to reach our goals!!!! emoticon

Hello everyone. I wander why I havn't gotten this tread in my email when ppl reply. I always hate when that happens cuz then I forget to find it and talk.

It snowed last night. What a wonderful sight to wake up to. NOT!!! emoticon It is melting now though. Didn't get much of a workout in yesterday was to tired so I went to bed at 9:30 instead. Woke up rearing to go today. Not sure what is on the ajenda for tonight but I know I will get my workout in.

Today was the first day to start everything. OMG!!! It was so hard to do anything and everything. Food, water, exersise. I wanted to cry!!!! Its not that hard but it actually is. I felt like I was going to explode. My daughter and son try to encourage me and my husband just smiles cause he knows he doesn't want to say, "You don't have to do it." I HAVE TO!!!! I WANT TO!!! It was a nice day, not too cold and all of us together. I know I have to keep going and of course day 1 is always hard but, I can say I did it. I use to be able to do 75 push ups in a minute now I barely do 25. I could dance for hours, now just 30 min and Im winded. What happened in 2 years? Why?

Today I started with a haircut, grooming, pedicure and organizing my clothes. Next, I hope to keep on going and not give up. Sorry for whining everyone. Just had to get it out.

This weekend i think we atre going to take it easy and do messaged. the last 2 weeks have been ickky. a little stress, bad diet and frustration.

i am planning on getting some extra excercise tomorrow - some yoga or tai chi definatly.

Hi Everyone sorry I have been MIA but my baby girl had the flu...but she is better now.

Well I finish SP January bootcamp and lost 9 pounds...yohoooo!. Let's see how it goes during February.

My good news for the weekend is that I bought my first ever properly fitted running shoes and an exercise mat in preparation for a women's only bootcamp I've joined that starts in ONE week. I'm so excited and will be going to "break in" my new shoes at the gym this week. My fitness buddy has not come to work out with me again but she's still new to the game and I still feel very motivated at this point so maybe she'll be there closer to when I need her or I'll find someone new.

kirsifiel- yeah on your gym membership! I don't blame you for wanting to wait first.
Anyone have any good plans this weekend? It is so cold here. My hubby is away this weekend so I have both kids..uhh...crazy. when my 2 yo gets up we're going to make cupcakes..I know bad but I'm having my nephews over later so they can eat them. Tomorrow I have a 1st bday party and nothing planned for Sun.

Since the new year i have been going to our local gym, but didn't buy a memebership waiting to see if I stopped going...lol how negative eh. The good news is I am still going all month in fact...so I bought my membership yesterday yea me!!!

Today is a happy day... I signed up at gym and confirmed a date tomorrow with my (first) brand new fitness buddy.
I just got off a call to place an order and it ended up with a part time job offer...

I am making crockpot pork. I use a lot of the recipes on here and that's one. It's just boneless pork chops with italian seasoning, onion, garlic and chicken broth. It smells delicious and is so tender. I think I'm going to have it with brown rice and green beans.

tonight I'll be eating out. Dont know where yet. Definitely harder to stay in range, I did pretty well this week, so I'll try to stay as close to the top of my range as possible, Ive done it before, but most Fridays I dont make it.

I did use all natural (europe's best 4 field berry mixed) blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries 1 1/2 cup (something like that) I didnt use the measuring cup at that time.. and added water about a cup..
It came out DELISH!! two servings.. (one per cup 140 cal) I think.. it got me full for two full hours... soon gonna eat my lunch... leftover last night to use it with whole wheat wrap with rice and chicken.. yummmyy

Hmmm... that's a good question; all smoothies I've ever had have some kind of dairy or dairy substitute in them to give them that creamy "smoothie" texture. Try googling 'non-dairy smoothie recipes." I did once have a smoothie that was made with ice cream, wasn't very healthy, but it was pretty good!

I don't have an actual recipe, I just wing it! How about Juice and ice? Crush the ice, blend with juice and fruit. Whatever combo sounds good to you. I use frozen fruit in place of some of the ice, let me know how it works for you!

Im looking for fruit smoothie that doesnt need yogurt.. I hate yogurts.. Iwould like to make one today if possible.. I have posted that in recipes, that took forever to reply to me so I m asking here to see if you know what I can use.. I also dont use skim milk...

learning what to do with leftovers which is a step of Stage 2 of SP is a must, it not only make you lose weight but it will make your grocery bill go down...what are you all having tonight?
