I found a local family farmer who raises cows for my hamburger cravings. The beef is super lean, better than anything I can normally find in the stores. Then I skip the bun and just put my condiments directly on the burger patty. It's great and really low calorie!

I made the black bean burgers from the sparkpeople cookbook last week and they were actually really good. It didn't taste exactly like a hamburger, but it satisfied my stomach, and the visual appeal was basically the same as a hamburger, which I've found is half the battle for me when switching to healthier foods. I can't say I really crave red meat that often though. I've done the ground turkey thing before too and it's pretty good. Good luck finding a replacement! :)

Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about.

I haven't had ground turkey in a few years. I should look into it. I have also been thinking about stuffed cabbage but didn't want to add all the calories with ground beef.

Right now I am trying to sub in ground turkey for ground beef. In my chili it was great and next week I am trying in with my meat loaf. I think the best thing that helps with cravings are drinking plenty of water. Best wishes to you.

So, I am a lover of red meat. Hamburgers are a favorite. I was really craving a hamburger today so I went to the store in search of something to satisfy this craving without ruining my calorie count.
I found Boca burgers and Alaskan Salmon Burgers. I have never had fish (can't get past the smell) and soy never seemed appetizing. I tried them both and although they weren't beef smothered in all the fixing they were very good.
What food has everyone tried during their diet journey to help with that endless craving?
