I have the DVDs and I've gone to the classes. I would recommend going to the classes before you invest the 60 dollars in the DVDs because although the DVDs are good, they don't make it as fun as the classes. I think the classes really inspire you to keep up with the Zumba workouts. They're so much fun and you don't really feel like you're working out. The DVDs are good for getting in that workout when you can't make it to a class or you cant go to the gym. The introduction dvd kind of sucks but the workouts are good.

Zumba is my fave!! My honey gave me a set of the dvds for Christmas and I use them very often. He got them from ebay so I know they weren't super expensive. I can't tell you for sure how many calories I burn doing it as it was said before this, 10 minutes is enough to make you sore! At first, I only made it through the first 2 sections of the cardio party disc and now I can make it all the way through. It gave me something to work toward and it was fun at the same time. I will say that the skinny girls on there glisten as they do it and well, i just sweat like a pig. lol keep a towel and some water near by but do it, it's worth it!

Zumba is the best!! My gym offers it almost everyday of the week....:) I haven't gone in a few months, and need to go back, i miss it! It does give u a feeling as though your clubbing and my instructor is intense! good luck! :) I saw just enjoy, even if you dont know what you are doing, with time you will get the hang of it, and when you hear the music you will want to dance anyways! emoticon

Thanks guys for all your input....I actually found a class in my area that you don't have to join a gym and I wanted to try it this weekend but I got a nasty cold and have actually been sidelined from exercising since Wednesday....ughhhhhhhh....anyways I'm back on track this week and will definitely give it a shot next weekend

I am actually considering also getting the videos I think I'm going to make it a reward though......thanks again.

One of my friends found out about an aqua zumba class (zumba at a local pool). And I love it. I think real zumba would kick my butt majorly ... but an hour of this class has me feeling good.

I love Zumba! One of my rewards for reaching a goal is the Zumba Party for Wii :)

The trick is learning how to watch where you're going AND keep your head up.

I love Zumba! The gym I go to has an hour long class, and I sweat hard the whole time. It's a lot of fun :)

As for calories, I track it on sparkpeople by using the Dancing, fast (or something like that).

I took a class at my Curves this week and loved it! They only had them in 30 minute classes but I did them both (plus the machines, TWICE). I did order the DVD set to do at home since I can only do the class once a week.

I don't have much info on it..I just got the DVDs and started today. I did it for about 10 minutes before I did my regular workout. I enjoyed it and I will do more tomorrow since I am off. The DVDs I have start off slow and show you the moves and then you do the dances. I can tell you that after only 10 minutes of zumba I am sore :D

I absolutely LOVE Zumba. The Student Rec Center at my college offers classes, so I have never tried the DVDs. I am not entirely sure about calorie burns, but I have heard on some of the demo videos that you can burn up to 600 calories or more per hour.

Sorry I can't be more helpful and informative. Its so much fun to do with your friends because you get to "club dance" as me and my friends call it.

Hey everyone!!! I have been seeing all these ads for Zumba and I just wanted to see if anyone can give their input on the workout? I did a trial on exercise tv on demand for 15 mins and it seemed fun. The gym I go to doesn't have classes so I guess I'm going to have to get the dvd's cause I don't want to switch gyms yet. Do you think its the same. What kind of calorie burns are you looking at when you do it?
