i will watch biggest loser from time to time but never can really get into it for a lot of the reasons already mentioned here. i don't believe they are showing healthy weight loss. i forget the article but an ex contestant basically said everyone was starving themselves and it was actually really unhealthy the way they get their results. including the trainers/producers telling the contestants to against a doctors advice. no thank you. agreed with everyone else who can't stand jillian.

I find the BL very inspirational. Though I understand that "results are not typical" like every other diet pill, diet program/plan, workout video/DVD, or any other weight loss tool you find will state, its motivating to see people working hard and loosing weight. And I think when you get to the point in your life (where I think some of us have gotten to already) where you think "if I dont do something about this I will DIE very soon" you do this kind of show more for the health aspect of it than for the money. I understand that this is a game and people do play the game for the game prize, but I think the most important thing for people participating in the show is getting their life back. I've wanted to audition for the show for at least 4 yrs now, but for one reason or another I dont make it to the casting calls. Mainly though its because of my lack of self-confidence and self-love. I have a lot of issues to deal with and seeing people on that show that are going through the same things I'm going through kinda makes me go "OK, I'm not alone here and if she can do it, then I still have a shot." This season I really identify with the emotional eating that Ada's gone through and her story. Feeling like your a disappointment or having a parent make you feel like a disappointment or a failure is something that really traumatizes a person. I can totally identify with her and I'm rooting for her. =)

I don't like some parts of the biggest loser, but I love some of it. The part that inspires me is, well.. first, seeing the contestants do exercise. If someone that's heavier than I am can do it, I don't have an excuse. And also, seeing the changes in their health tests at the end. It might take longer, but the benefits remain.

The biggest loser is inspirational, but also very tiring to watch. I put it on dvr so I can fast forward all the sob stories.
I can't stand that most of the people they pick are people that have lost someone, or had a crappy childhood or whatever. I least nobody this year is 'the biggest person ever!' I hate that schtick.
I noticed that there is a mom on there this year who has 5 kids, and one of them is autistic.
I wonder why she brought that up? Probably to get sympathy points from the audience at home.
I'm autistic but you don't see me using that to get ahead. Anyway, I watch the show, I love the show, but the emotional aspect is over the top so I fast forward!
Sunshine and o'neil made me sick to my stomach last season....blah!

Please be mindful of the fact I have asperger's. I do NOT communicate the same as everyone else, if you have a question or a concern with how I worded something, please ask.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biggest Loser..
The biggest loser for me is so inspirational. And yes I have also been watching the show for years now and am still 150 pounds over weight. But the thing is when I watch the show it makes me want to get off the couch and get moving. Do jumping jacks during the commercials. It is so motivating to see the contestants lose weight every week and tell us how good they fell. If it wasn't for the Biggest Loser I probably wouldn't have the motivation that I have now. Oh and I probably would want Bob as a trainer instead of Julian because I couldn't handle the in the face yelling either.

I have to agree with FABOOMAMA. The biggest loser is so unrealistic. The weight they lose in a short amount is not healthy. That show sets up a lot people to fail. I think the people who go on that show do it for the money. I know they say they do it to lose the weight but eventually their true colors come out.

Yes I am a Biggest Loser addict. I know that what they are doing is unrealistic for me to do, and the weight loss numbers that they are obtaining are not numbers I will see each week. But I will tell you this...I have lost a lot of weight. I still have a lot of weight to lose and if you don't deal with the emothional aspect then your weight will come back or you will burry the emotions and replace one habbit with another. This is what the show has helped me with is breaking down the wall and figure out why I got to where I did. Someone doesn't get to be obese just because. There is a reason you are turning to food to deal. YOU have to figure that out and that is what I like about the show.

No because they're not showing a realistic point of view. They have all these medical professionals around. They're starving themselves! They work out 24/7 and it's a GAME SHOW! They do it to make money. Yes it would be nice to really be able to lose weight in the time they do, but it just sets people up for a fall. If you read interviews with past contestants they say they either gained the weight back, have health problems, or starved themselves to win. It just doesn't seem right. Besides that Jillian seems like a shrew! I couldn't handle someone like that in my face all the time. JMO.

i love that show!!! i've been with it since it started and im still overweight...i keep back sliding. but for me...i start my change TODAY with the biggest loser to get on track again!

I also have the biggest loser wii fitness game!!

The people on that show are so inspirational along with Jillian and Bob, i love them! but sometimes we need more than just to watch...im tired of seeing everyone else succeed and i'm still fat.

i've been fat for 9 years. but it seems like an eternity....its so hard to get it off

I used to hate watching the Biggest Loser cos I'd see so much, too much of myself in the contestants. I'd go into a denial/self-pity party, switch the channel and settle down with a snack. Now I can't get enough. I love how the later seasons feature the medical aspect of losing weight (like comparing a normal person's lungs with that of an obese person).

Does anyone else here draw inspiration from the show? :)
