Oh wow, what a workout! I did level 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred tonight and holy moly! It's really tough and I sweated like crazy but for a 20 minute workout, it was awesome! You work everything head to toe! There are no breaks at all but I had to stop a couple of times because it hurt (muscles were on fire). 1 Day down, 29 more to go!! We will see what kind of results I pull off. I'm going to measure myself tonight and keep track of what I lose inches wise. I heard you lose inches like crazy. Have a great night!!

T1gg3r-

It's hard to make yourself work out sometimes but you always feel so great afterwards. I am totally excited today because I just got my 30 Day Shred, Banish Fat Boost and No More Trouble zones video's. I am ready to go home, put my work out clothes on and get moving!! Even if I won't be able to walk afterwards or tomorrow. hahaha I will let you know how it goes. It's been raining here since yesterday but I was really inspired when I saw someone outside doing their walk anyways this morning. I can't use the excuse that it's raining if they can make themselves get out there. It's not pouring down rain and I won't melt. I love yoga but yes, it can be really tough. I want to get back into a class. Someone told me about a Zumba class which sounds fun but I haven't been able to find one so I may have to ask them where one is. Have a great week and I will let you know how that shred video is.

Hi My name is Kayla! I am married 23 and have a beautiful 3 year old little boy! I am hoping to lose about 90 lbs before I have another little one! The trouble is my mom suddenly passed away in March and since then the weight won't stop coming on and I get really frustrated. I lack serious motivation. I need help? So I am determined to not fail myself anymore! I hope i can be inspired and inspire others in the process.

Hi, I'm Tracy and I'm brand-new to this website, like less than a week. I'm hoping to be able to lose a lot of the weight I've been carrying around that has stopped me from doing many of the things I've always wanted to do, but my main motivation for now is to get down (hopefully) 50 pounds before my sisters wedding in April. I refuse to stand up as her maid of honor and look like I do now. Anyway, enough of my venting ^_^; Good luck to everyone and wish me luck!

Thank you Spiirtbear!

I'm glad that I lost something, I've been feeling bloated this weekend but with as much as I ran around yesterday emoticon I've been very active this last week but with the bloated feeling, I expected to stay the same or gain a bit. Monday's are always hard to kick start the week but you can do it!

So I am feeling better about my week now that I had a loss, it was small loss but a loss all the same. emoticon I spent my day cooking and cleaning yesterday, by last night- I was exhausted. I made a couple of great recipes from SparkRecipes. I made a yummy split pea soup and a great chili. Tossed together some cornbread (not the sweet kind because my mother is from the south and therefore has taught me that cornbread was not meant to be sweet emoticon ) Yesterday was a very long day but I slept like a rock. Today is rainy and dreary outside, thank goodness I made a ton of soup and chili yesterday! Hope everyone else had a great weekend also.

Happy Monday!

Day two of my P90x workout. The plyometrics is really intense I was unable to finish the last 10 minutes of the hour emoticon but I feel really good. The only problem I have with this type of workout is that i usually get upset cause I dont loose as much weight as I think I should but I gain a lot of muscle and I gain muscle fairly easly, therefore the scale doesnt move except maybe up. I have to keep telling myself muscle ways more that fat and that I am loosing fat cause I am getting toned and my clothes fit better. So I guess I will be keeping a measuring tape nearby so when I do feel bad about the scale I can look at the inches. emoticon

I read an article about Jillian's Wii workout. Other than having to deal with the hand held Wii remote and the avatar moves a bit slower than you, they had good things to say about it. I don't have a Wii but maybe if I get one, I'll try that to. I went over my calories yesterday but I also did a lot of walking so I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I wil just strive to make today a better day. I will keep you posted on how my 30 day shred goes once I get it. I can't believe how excited I am to do something that's totally going to kick my butt. emoticon have a great weekend!

I have the Jillians thing on Wii, I havent used it much. Let me know how your Jillian's 30 day shred goes. It sounds intense. I will keep you posted on my routine.

I do know when I did use it before my husband said I had a lot better posture, and that was only for like 3 weeks. So I guess I will see how this goes.

You can do it! I ordered Jillian's 30 day shred and two of her other videos, I can't wait for them to come in. I haven't tried P90x but that might be my next purchase. Let me know how you are doing with it. I'm glad the kitchen finally got finished, that can be a nightmare remodel but so worth it once completed. emoticon Have a great day!

I feel great. I have finally cleaned out my workout room so I can do my P90X exercises. I even started today. woohoo!!! I have been meaning to do that for awhile now, and now that i have most of the kitchen done I was able to get the extra stuff out. Now all i have to do is stick with it. The longest I did it was like 3 weeks I think, but I am going to go the full 90 days.

So I am really proud of myself today, I had a really great breakfast! I had a cup of fresh strawberries, 1 small apple and 1 small banana. I made my own fruit salad. It was yummy! I'm really bad about eating my fruits and veggies. And with my herbal tea, it was perfect! It's a bit chilly here in Southern California this morning so it made it that much harder to get out of bed today. But I have a brisk walk at lunch to look forward to and dinner with my boyfriend tonight. Although we are going to go out to eat, we settled on El Pollo Loco because they have a light and healthy meal. He has been so supportive and helpful the last few weeks during this process. He eats whatever I eat and exercises right along side me. emoticon I hope you all have an amazing day today!

Hey guys! I just wanted to stop in and share some news. I weighed in offically on the first as usual and was at 165. This means I have exactly 50 pounds to go. I weigh in again on the 12th so by that time I might be out of the weight range for this group (cross your fingers). This has been a great team to be a part of and I really enjoy all of you guys. Keep up the good work.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Jessica,

Way to go on your loss! emoticon That's awesome. It can be very difficult especially after a stressful day at work. Thank you for your positive feedback, I really appreciate it. Losing weight is a hard task and even harder when you have to focus on life's other stressors. I'm about to head out for my lunch time walk at the park. Today is turning into another Monday so I'm going to give myself a break. emoticon

So yesterday was a really tough day for me in general. I work with a man who is extremely hard to get along with and he is the owner's son. emoticon I did my best not to let him get under my skin but he managed to anyway. I almost slipped back into bad habits for dinner last night. I very much wanted fast food but I refused to allow myself to stumble. I've been working very hard and didn't want to allow myself to emotionally eat because that's what I was trying to do. Instead, I allowed myself a little bit of ice cream (sherbert ice cream, less calories emoticon ) and later a bowl of Corn Chex which is my favorite cereal. I still stayed in my target's as far as calories, fat, protein and carbs which was really good. And I also made myself work out to burn off not only my frustrating day but some extra calories to help my weight loss this week. My walking buddy flaked on me for our lunch walk but I am going to go anyways. I already planned to walk and brought my things, I need the cardio. I also think it will help with the work stress. Today will be a better day. Thanks for letting me vent ladies and gents! Have a great day emoticon

Hello everyone. I am new to the site and decided to give it a try. I think I am off to a decent start. I began last week and did my walking and eating right. I am down 3 pounds this week. Yeah!! I hope i can keep it up. I want to be able to run 2 miles by the time I finish.

Hello everyone!

I have a question- what is the couch to 5k program? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times and wasn't sure what it was or how to find out information on it. I'm just getting back on the Spark band wagon. I am absolutely determined to get this weight off this time and am trying to do it while having as much fun as possible. I don't want weight loss to become a chore like it usually feels like. emoticon

Want to say hi, and say hang in there, it takes time, i had to realize that, it didn't take me a week to get to my unwanted weight, so it probably wouldn't take a week to lose it either, just keep going, you'll get there, give it at least 3 weeks.

Well, no results for me yet, but hey it hasn't even been a full week. I think I'm just getting a little ahead of myself right now. I just really want to start seeing results.

I used the Walk/Run 10 min/mile. If you go to Browse, you can find it in the Walking/Running section.

I totally feel the same about food. I never thought of it like a calorie budget before. Lots of learning to do (and bad habits to undo).

I started the C25K program in July and LOVED IT!!! Never thought I could run and could barely make it through the 60 second intervals during the first week. But now I love running and my first 5K run is in less than two weeks!

Kristy-Thanks... I am really trying...
I don't know about the rest of you but I love food and I have to somehow reteach my self how much to eat and what to eat. I feel like some days I am doing ok and other days I feel like I am starving.

Has anyone done or thought of doing the couch to 5K program. Anyone have any thoughts on it...

Thanks

Trish, welcome! There are loads of little tips, but I think they're best discovered along the way... Spark will give you a lot of that info!

As for the water, I happen to love ice-cold water, but if you struggle with it, you can always add in sugar-free, calorie-free water mixes... or sometimes I add in the Special K Protein Water mix, to get some extra protein and fiber.

Good luck, you can do this!

Thanks! That's my cat, Charlie! I don't think she was impressed that I was stalking her with my camera as she was waking up, but the pic was cute, so it was totally worth it!

Just looking for some general information... I am just starting this journey.. (should have started a while ago.. lol) So I don't really know how to start and what is the best way. I started keeping track of what I eat and trying to drink some water. I am not a big water drinking but I am trying to force myself to drink it. But I did read one article that said something like eating mustard instead of mayo will lower your calories by XX amount... So now I think about that... So I didn't know if there are a bunch of little hints like that somewhere....
Thanks so much and I am glad to join you all on this journey...

I've learned a lot from the Nutrition articles in the "Healthy Lifestyle" section in the menu above. There are also different teams and message boards you can join as well to ask questions and get ideas. Are you looking for information about a specific diet (vegetarianism, vegan, gluten-free...) or just general information?
