I listen to a lot of electronic-type music when I work out. Synthpop, industiral, darkwave, and EBM are all favorite genres for workout music.

I'm odd in that I listen to audiobooks when I workout, it keeps me more entertained. Most libraries allow you to check out/rent audiobooks online through their website. If not, get a library card from a county that does ;)

Didn't see it mentioned here, but Spotify has added a new running feature that matches song to the rpm you choose. There's a bunch of different genres and speeds. I've also had really great results using Soul Cycle playlists I found from other Spotify users.

I have a variety of like 100 songs on my MP3 player. I have heavy metal (Five Finger Death Punch is my jam when pushing hard), party songs (go Katy Perry!), even a few J-Pop songs (such as Lithium Flower, from Ghost in the Shell)

I have an app on my phone called Songza which builds playlists for you based on what activity you're doing. When I'm at the gym and select that I'm working out. There are a lot of different workout options and I've tried a few (some more successful that others). However, there are 2 songs that I am 100% guaranteed to lose myself in if they're playing. They are: Work B**** by Britney Spears (if the language offends you there is a clean version) and My Body by Young the Giant. Listening to these songs I have found myself at speeds (on the elliptical) that I had never seen before or with any other song and it doesn't even feel like I'm working hard. I LOVE a workout song that can make me get lost in it!

I finally put together a workout playlist!!! Has it made a difference in my workout! I enjoyed it a lot. It's mostly Britney Spears, Spice Girls, and some other fast paced pop and rap music. I also made a "cool down" play list to help wind down from the intensity of my workout. I feel great!

When I work out, I'm usually doing REFIT (like Zumba, but "cleaner"). That said, I've put together a playlist from songs that really push me there along with a few others that work when I'm not REFITing. I'll put a star next to the ones that are blatantly Christian songs in case you're completely uninterested in those.

Surrender - Cash Cash
Turbo Style - Beckah Shae*
Jesus (Reggaeton Remix) - KJ-52*
Geronimo - Sheppard
Survivor (#1's Edit) - Destiny's Child [Like, duh]
Roar - Katy Perry
On Our Way - The Royal Concept
Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
Animal - Ke$ha
We Got The World - Icona Pop
Shut Up And Dance - Walk The Moon
Anna Sun - Walk The Moon
Really ANYTHING by Walk The Moon
Take Me Home - Cash Cash
I Want It All - Karmin
All The Way - Timeflies
No Control - One Direction
Strong - One Direction (this isn't a great workout song, but the "you make me strong" and the chorus work for me. Idk)

Last night, I found this awesome mashup of "Bang Bang" and "Shake It Off". Honestly, I'm kind of a closet T-Swizzle music fan, I'd never admit to anyone that I like some of her music. (It's just so darn catchy!) But even so, this is fun for jamming in general.

When I do cardo or strength training at the gym I listen to one of the Pandora fitness stations...usually the pop fitness. When I go out to walk/jog I will listen to the Kesha station on Pandora. When I'm stretching at home or doing some yoga I listen to the film score station on Pandora...as you can tell I listen to Pandora a lot when I work out.

The Black Keys - Little Black Submarines
Drive by Truckers - Never Gonna Change
Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot
Mumford and Sons - The Cave
Mumford and Sons - Roll Away Your Stone
The Lumineers - Stubborn Love

All have nice tempo upgrades and downgrades for lifting, so it isn't flat out balls to the wall all the time. Plus, they are all mostly angry.
