Hi! I replied to your message too. I defintley know how you feel. I have done the extreme dieting in the past too. I would always see great results and then give up on it and gain everything back.

I think what I have realied over the past six months is that by doing things the healthy way is that it is not as hard as I once thought. For me it is about planning. I will pack my breakfast and lunch with snacks every evening. I only include healthy and filling food. That automatically gets me through 2/3s of the day!

The results are slower what you do it right, but it is defintiely better. You will feel better and make a sustainable change. You definitely can do it! Make sure to celebrate all of the small victories. Be proud of yourself for all of the positive changes you make, even if they aren't as big as you hoped. You will get there!

Hi Ashely and welcome to SparkPeople! Be glad that you joined the site as it is a wealth of information, resources, and support. We are here to help you along with your journey. Don't get discouraged because you can't run. Just getting out there and running is a huge accomplishment! Celebrate all your small steps as well. Just so you know, eating only once a day is not a good way to lose weight. It forces your body into starvation mode, so it will want to hold on to weight rather than lose it. Also, you likely aren't getting enough nutrients in that one meal to sustain you throughout the day. It's a good idea to eat small meals 5-6 times a day so your metabolism stays revved up. Try to be active on the message boards and read articles and ask whenever you have a question. emoticon

My name is Ashely, and I'm fresh to this site and have no idea what I'm doing but i do know i have always been the "" bigger friend " or the only bigger person in my family. I have had enough of not being able to complete anything I start, loosing weight is something that i need to do for my self because out of every one I'm the hardest one on my self, and always have been.

I know everything that I need to do to get myself there but I dont i did it once by only eating once a day and riding my bike for an hr a day i droped 30 pnds in a month and saw what i look like with out this belly in my way and i was impressed with it, not going to lie it felt great knowing that i looked great and could fit into anything i tryd, and in stores i dare not even walk into now, but i do it for a week or so and i stop. no reason just stop, i get a reutine going and mess one day up and i stop for another month. i dont know why but i do, and i cant anymore i want to look they way i want to feel. i dream about myself in a diffrent body even and wake up sad because its only a dream, i know that if i work hard at it i will get there, but i dont let my self, all i can afford to do right now is run with a friend and im finding im having a hard time doing that. we walk for the most part but when we start runing its only for a min or two and i dont get to far i know its baby steps but im tired of not getting there.

so any help or advice that people can give me im down for.... I have to do this for myself!
