I'll be 23 in two days and April 2nd my bf and I will be celebrating our 6 year anniversary. Now that we have been living together for the past 9 months the discussion of engagement and marriage have been circulating more. I don't want to be one of those bride's to be that is overworking and starving herself in order to look good for the big day. I want to change not only my lifestyle but the one of my bf, so we can live more healthy in the future together.

So many things motivate me - but I'll focus on one.
My 10 year reunion is this July 4th weekend, and even though I weighed 180 then (my goal weight now!) I was still 'the fat girl' in my class since it was such a small school. I'd always felt like the fat girl and had terrible self-esteem.

I want to lose some weight - but even more than that - I want to feel confident before I go back and see people I haven't seen in a LONG time.

I don't care if I will be the biggest girl, I just don't want to feel like insecure teenager I was.

The fact that I'm going to be 30 is probably one of the bigger reasons. I want to be full of energy again, because lazy, tired moms are absolutely no fun. I want to be sassy, and healthy and fun again.

Oh mercy, the motivators...I was once at 150lbs. the same size as my best friend and that would be awesome to be there again. And honestly it took working out and walking allot (I didn't own a car back then). My husband deserves to have a wife that will be around forever (or close to it). I have migraines and wonder if it's the weight since I didn't have them until I started gaining the weight back. I want to be able to go to restaurants with my friends and not worry about the size of the booth or whether or not I fit into the seats of a car with the seat belt. Would like to wear a swimsuit when I go to Guam and Japan this summer. Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm a military wife and let me tell you it's a bit intimidating to be on base where most people are small. However, I've never really ran into people that give 'those looks' even though out in the civilian world I get those all the time. Most of the people around me encourage me. Okay, I'm done with my novels of reasons haha.

Shopping in "normal" stores - getting out of the plus sized section was so liberating! The price tag is also liberating - I can buy an entire outfit for the fraction of the cost of what I was spending on jeans in our plus-sized establishment :)
Working in a school is also motivating - setting a positive example for students.

I have so many reasons. I'll start with the obvious in that I want to be healthy and happy. I am returning to college to be a RN and I should set a good example. If I'm going to be caring for others, I need to be healthy first. I want to set good examples for my children. I want to be able to keep up with my children. I have recently ended a 10 year relationship with my ex husband and I believe a lot of the stress from that has made me gain a lot of weight. I have a new boyfriend now that encourages me daily to not be a quitter. I hope that someday we can get married and I want to look beautiful for him/the wedding. I want to be more confident when I go out in public and not feel like everyone is starring at me. I want to be able to go shopping for clothes and easily find cute clothes that can fit me.

I want to lose at least some of the baby weight before my son turns 4!!! And I am turning 30 next year and I want to start my 30's off right. Also, when we moved I found boxes and boxes of old clothes that I would love to wear again.

well like everyone else i want to get healthy and maintain a healthier lifestyle. Another thing i would love is to get down to a single digit clothing size. I haven't done that since middle school.

So I am sure that we are losing weight for one big reason...to be healthy and happy, but I can't imagine that there are not other things, smaller things, that are also motivating a lot of us.

For example, I want to lose weight so that I can look good at all the weddings I have to go to over the summer, and I have my 10-year high-school reunion coming up.

So...what's motivating you?

Personal achievement will be your key to happiness.
