Carpet all the time, if only because my house is terraced and when i'm jumping up and down on wooden floors it echos really badly!

I'd like to take a pill that made me six stone. Then I could eat my way back up to ten. What a great weekend that would be. Jo Brand.

I have wood floors so I use a yoga mat when doing floor type excesses.

I excercise wherever I have space. I travel a lot and bring my DVDs with me... my workouts have seen all kinds of floors... carpets, and flashbacks to the 50s (yeah, shag... maybe not the best to workout on... =D )

I always exericse on the carpet, but hardwood floors are probably better, but I most say carpet I like a lot better especially if you are doing floor work.

I would think carpet is better for you. It's still a flat surface but its a nice cushy surface. If you were on hard wood most programs would recommend getting a mat to stand on so you've cut out the middle part!
It also makes you very ocd about vacuuming your carpet...

My sister would dance for exercise on an old rug that we had, and her sneakers caused all sorts of "furballs" from the rug to gather and spread. It was my grandmother's old woven rug, and while my grandmother wasn't so happy about it, it wasn't actually a big problem.

I exercise on the carpet all the time, but I keep thinking I should get a yoga mat for the floor exercises -- it can get rather itchy on skin.

When I lived in my apartment, I exercised on carpet all the time. I think it's actually more beneficial since you are not causing as much trauma to your body. I know of no negative effects.

Hi all! I exercise at home with my videos...I live in an apartment and we have carpeting throughout the whole apartment (except for kitchen) is this bad to exercise on carpet and not a flat surface?
