Hello Lola! Congrats on the 12lbs lost, that's a great start!

My metabolism is terrible as well, I blame it on all the crash-dieting I've done in the past (and, having a 3 year old doesn't really help the body either!) I am unable to give up food, too... I love McDonalds too much to cut that out! I know what you mean about a regular day burning calories -- between taking care of my daughter, my job at the YMCA, school and running errands, my calories-burned add up pretty quickly! So any exercising I actually do is just bonus, and Wii-Fit is so fun that I don't mind doing that! :)

And it is so worth it to make those small efforts (a little time for exercising, and being thoughtful of your meals) -- I joined Spark in May and have been active since, and just this past weekend I was doing some shopping for new Fall clothes. Last winter, I barely was squeezing into my size 14 jeans. Today I am wearing a pair of jeans (same brand/style from Old Navy) in size 4! The last time I was in that size, I was probably in junior high!

And how funny, I went to Central! I graduated in 2000, though, haha! :) How do you like teaching there? I have heard that the students are pretty "bad" now. Are you still there? Or in the QC?

Anyway, wanted to welcome you!

Restarting my journey after baby #2 :)

Keep up the good work, and you will reach your goals. I like the nutrition tracker too. The best thing I find is when I want to eat something, I put it in first, and sometimes it helps change my mind when I see it on the screen and see what it takes my total to.

Don't look back, you're not going that way.

I've been part of this group for a few months now but I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Emily and I live north of the QCs in Clinton. I'm 22 and finishing my last semester at UNI by student teaching in the speech department at Dav. Central.

I've been a member of SP since August 2006, and I'm slowly taking the weight off that I gained at the end of high school and start of college. I try to exercise a few times a week, but I'm usually busy enough that just going through my day burns plenty of calories!

I'm currently down about 12 lbs from my starting weight, with the ultimate goal of losing 45 lbs, but my metabolism is like molasses most of the time, so it's been a slow and steady race. I like to eat, so instead of cutting out foods from my diet I try to eat in moderation, which is why I love SP's food tracking page!

That's about all I have to say for now! It's fun to see so many SP enthusiasts in the QCA! emoticon
